Kingdom Hearts II Sweet! Or is it salty?

I found this recipe for sea salt ice cream on khinsider.com

Recipe:
2 eggs
2 C. milk
1/3 cup sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 C. heavy whipping cream
Sea salt to taste
Blue food coloring

Directions:
1. Seperate the eggs into two good sized bowls.
2. Beat the egg whites until stiff.
3. Mix the egg yolks and sugar until thick.
4. Slowly bring milk to boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
5. Pour hot milk into yolk/sugar mixture and mix well.
6. Pour milk/yolk/sugar mixture back into pot and heat on medium until thicker to make a custard. (DO NOT BOIL)
7. Pour custard in with beaten egg whites and mix well.
8. Add sea salt (keeping adding salt until it tastes salty sweet).
9. Put mixture in fridge to cool.
10. Once cool, add cream, vanilla and coloring to mixture.
11. Freeze, following your ice cream maker’s instructions.

MMMMM, delicious.

Too bad I don't have Popsicle freezer things so I could freeze them to a Popsicle shape. >.>

Alternate ice-cream freezing method

Actually, there's another way to freeze the ice-cream without using an ice-cream maker. I think it's something like this:

1. Freeze the ice-cream mixture until ice crystals begin to form.

2. Take it out and beat it again.

3. Put it back into the freezer.

4. Repeat the steps for 3-4 times. The longer times you do this, the better the texture of the ice-cream will be.

5. Put the mixture into the freezer and chill till set.

 

It's actually Nomura's favorite ice cream, I believe. :P

That's why it's in the game.

Looking at the ingredients now, it doesn't seem like the...seasalt icecream I had imagined. I always thought it was like sucking on salt xD

But I never heard of that type of icecream until the game so, yeah >_>;

 

Okay, I just made the icecream today and it tastes like crème brûlée *blinks*

 

I am so trying that. xD

I'll just use ice trays for the mold.
