I'm 15 now and my birthday in not until march. My mom is ALREADY planing my "Sweet 16" and wants to do a whole bunch of useless crap, one of them including renting out the fire hall to have a giant party. Now, I've never been too keen on having big and extravagant birthday parties. Never have I had more than 3 or 4 people to a party since I was 8 and most people, besides those who I invite, ever even know it's my birthday. Now I know it's supposed to be a big deal that I'm turning 16, but I don't want it to be. If I had my way, it would be like any other birthday I've had for the last 8 years. My mom, of course, doesn't really care what I want and is still pushing and pushing to make it a giant fiasco. Should I just give in and let it be huge because it is my 16th, or try to make it normal like the rest? What do you think?
I think that you should talk to your mom. A sweet 16 should be a celebration between you, your close friends and family wishing you the best and congradulating you on being one step closer to becoming a responsible adult, not about useless crap. just be honest with her, and if that doesn't work then try and make the best of it, you never know, you might actually have fun. :)
I went through the samething with my mom when I was going to turn 15.But I told her I didn't want to have a 15.I don't know how you spell 15 in Spanish. So yeah. You should talk to your mom.If you don't want to have a 16 she should understand. But knowing a mom, they want to see their daughters the center of attention for one day.Tell her that having people around you, just friends, family and anybody else,is much better to you then having a huge party. If you jsyt give in,then you just might not liking your own party.Talk with your mother.
You should totally get Zack Efron to perform. Make sure a caravan of shirtless cabana boys brings you in on a large purple sofa. This'll totally be the best sweet sixteen ever!!!!!!!!!
