Scott pulled Luce over towards the bathroom, staying quiet as she spoke. "I want you to be yourself. Not someone you were forced to be when all you could do was survive." He ran the water and pulled Luce's hand under it, keeping his head lowered to avoid eye contact. "Nice?" He repeated Luce, shaking his head at the word. "Maybe you just need it more than the others." Scott paused, closing the water faucet as he watched the blood flow down the drain. "Or maybe I just..." He trailed off and glanced over at Luce. Scott shook his head again, coughing nervously. "Er..." Right! Bandages. ...Now where are they? He looked around the bathroom, seeing nothing to use that was in plain sight. "Your hand's feeling better, right?" Scott gave up looking around the room, looking down at Luce slowly.

Luce winced slightly when the water hit her hand and she closed her eyes as she listened to the few words Scott had to say. She knew he was saying a lot more by what he wasn't saying, but she refused to aknowledge those words. Once she'd heard Scott ask about her hand, she felt her healing begining. The sting ebbed but it didn't ease her guilt. "It's alright." She kept her eyes on her palm, watching it stitch itself together again. Closing her hand and lowering it to her side, Luce let all the anger and whatever else she harbored inside her hollow heart be locked away for a moment. Glancing up at Scott, she forced herself to meet his eyes. Without the anger her eyes were darker and less like crystaline ice and more like clear water. "Thank you, Scott.... Though, I don't know why you bother with me. I can never be family to people. Civilized people....the only family I have is dead and the only substitute family I could have if I had the sense not to try to kill her, would probably become Alexis. You can see it in her eyes....the street does leave a certain mark, be it scars or something hidden inside." She looked down at herself and laughed a genuine laugh for once in her life, "I think I came away with a little of both. My scars aren't easy to cover up. They're just reminders of just how flawed I am." She wrapped her arms around her waist, hugging herself, "I can't be myself, because I don't know who she is anymore."

"I'm not as civilized as you'd think. Even if I didn't spend most my time out on the streets." Scott turned away slowly from Luce. "It's nice to know you can try to think of someone else as family though." He added lowly as he stuffed a hand into his pocket and looked over at the bathroom door. With his free hand he combed back a few strands of black hair that fell over his eyes and took in a deep breath. His own past was violent and stained with blood, though it wasn't survival that had made him fight. "There's a popular saying that says time heals all wounds. Maybe you just need to give it some time. It's something we all could use after all." Scott's dark eyes buried into the door frame as he spoke. "We've all got some flaws...Guess that's part of being human. We can at least still call ourselves that." He let out a low mocking laugh and smiled somewhat. "Anyways, now that your hand is better we should probably get back to the bar. Though don't expect to be getting anymore drinks sometime soon." He stepped out of the bathroom. Haven't you got more to say? Scott asked himself in his head, knowing he could still spare just a bit more. He paused, leaning forward with his back towards Luce. "You know...I wonder what it would have been like to meet you if all these things wouldn't have happened. Probably just one of the reasons why I bother." Scott glanced over his shoulder towards Luce, tapping a finger against the door frame as he watched her for a moment before slowly heading away from the bathroom.

"Worry about that later," Lenny started after he gave the gun to Carson. "Have you ever shot anything before? Used a gun in any way? Video game, BB gun, darts, or a real gun?" Lenny thought for a moment before continuing, "Ever stab anything?"

"No, I'm kidding!" Adam yelled as he quickly pulled the bottle out of Alexis' reach. "Do you not know what Everclear is?" He let out a small laugh. He initially wanted to overwhelm the "newbie" with alcohol, to make it easier to relax. Everclear was one of the strongest drinks out there. But now Adam felt guilty. "You know what happened the first time I drank this stuff?" Adam shook the bottle in front of her face in a matter-of-fact gesture. "Well, I don't know. I blacked out completely. Though I think I got a waitress fired," he raised the bottle to his eyes and smiled. "It does burn so good, though~" He quickly put it back on the shelf, turned around, and brought his face over the counter as close as possible to Alexis' as he could, "So tell me, Alexandria," he started, "What all do you know about who we are and what we do? Most importantly," his voice dropped to a whisper, "What do you know about who you are?"

    "Alexis." She corrected again.
"And well... Mulligan." She emphasized the name.
"I know the details that Lenny told me.
...I took a lot of convincing. So he had to be thorough." she stated simply, remembering how she first met Lenny and how she had literally nearly... well... killed is a strong word. He had felt pain at least..
"As for me... I know my name at least. Mulligan." she told him, staring into his eyes with her bright emerald green eyes. She brushed some of her blond hair aside.
It's not that she particularly cared all that much about him getting her name right. But if he expected her to not call him Mulligan, then she should expect him to call her Alexis.
That... and it was the only name she actually had, one of the few pieces of her past that she could remember. That made her feel she still had a connection to humanity.
"...and, I know that we're different, from everyone else anyway, and from each other...
Well... I knew I was different long ago... I just didn't know that there were others out here who were the same.. for the most part." she finished.

Luce stared after Scott after he'd left. Her hands shaking, she tied her hair back into a tight ponytail and followed him back into the bar. It wasn't like Scott to want to make her feel better about herself. And....it wasn't like he knew anything of the real wounds she had that time could never heal. It was the reason why she steered clear of men. Especially those like Scott and Adam. If she hurt them, Lenny would be angry and Lenny was the only family she had. Her icy eyes watched Adam "play" with Alexis and the bottle of Everclear. Luce, herself, liked to keep that bottle close when she was on duty at night. Most of the customers were male often times and more than many were...suggestive when intoxicated. Giving them a shot of Everclear in their usual and a cold smile often got them away from her...at least passed out on the bar was not constantly reaching for her hands or touching her face.
Luce shuffled Adam out of the way as she slipped behind the bar, grabbing a damp cloth and scrubbing at the blood and glass left on the bar. "Give it up Adam. She's not going to play nice with you until you say her name right. Now quit wasting my secret elixer!" Hooking a finger under his collar, she pulled him back a few inches away from Alexis' face. If this girl knows the streets like I know them, a man this close is probably irritating her.

"I've shot darts...And I've had a gun in my possession..." He tensed a little before speaking,"I didn't use it though...I couldn't kill anyone, though.I still have a heart. He wondered if that disappointed Lenny."I have stabbed someone though,I learned where you can stab someone and they are most likely to live but get severely injured."He spoke softly,he started to wonder what was happening in the other room.He griped the gun tighter than he had his knife. He had always had the feeling of safety when he held a gun,but he knew it was worthless if he never used it.

Hm. Scott glanced down at the faint blood stain that Luce had cleaned up and folded his arms over on the bar table. His eyes fixed on the singular spot as he kept silent, vaguely listening in to the others. He rarely drank alcohol, it wasn't that his body couldn't handle it but that he preferred something else. Blood. It had been too long since he had taken in any. Scott took in a deep breath to keep his body from shaking. Stop it. You drink more of that stuff than the others. He tapped his fingers against his arms, slowly turning his gaze away from the faded bloodstain. Sticking around the bar wasn't helping.

I'll just go and so something else. Scott rose from his seat and stuffed his hands in his pockets as he walked away from the bar, planning to just stick in his own room until Lenny got them to do something.

Adam grimaced as Luce pulled him back. It wasn't the fact that he didn't know the girl's name, he knew it started with an A, but he hadn't remembered. Instead of just asking, he decided to wait until someone called her by name. "Fine, fine. Let me tell you some, new girl," Adam pointed to the bottles on shelves. "Get to know these drinks. You'll be working the bar often. Get to know your favorite drink. You might not drink now...but you will," it could have been an exaggeration. Adam wasn't sure, but he knew that the job was tough. "Things are easier to handle when you're not...well, when you're drunk. It makes you angry. Learn how that feels when you're angry and not in control and then," he pointed to Alexis's heart, "Learn to be control at all times. Use your anger! Does that make sense?" Adam shook his head and looked at Scott walk away. "Yo, Hercules where are you going? Get your strongman ass back here!" There was no real reason as to why Adam wanted him in there, but a feeling told him Scott should stay. "ANYWAY, ALI-ER, NEW GIRL, listen up. This job will make you hear and see things you don't want to. Worse, it'll make you do things that you can't stomach. You'll have to deal with it. We all deal with it different ways. Whatever you do, don't get depressed. Depression is simply anger without the enthusiasm. Get angry. Use that anger. Channel it into your bullets and then... shoot a monster."
The white and black-haired Acolyte looked at Luce, hoping for an agreement. "I'm telling you this," Adam's voice suddenly dropped while he looked at Luce. He was now solemn and serious, "because you are about to hear some things. Exactly why we're different and why we're doing this. Hunting is all we have. I don't do it out of the good of my heart, hell no, I do it for revenge. I want a certain Demon's head on a ****ing silver platter," he clenched his fist and looked back at Alexis, "in order to get it there, we need to hunt. Like I said, hunting's all we have."

"Stop lying to the girl, Mulligan," Lenny's voice rang out as the door opened and he walked out, "You have each other. From now on, you are family. You're not just Acolytes, you're brothers and sisters." He looked over his head and motioned for Carson to follow him. "Bring the gun and shut my door." He walked around the counter and inhaled the deepest breath he could. Puffing his cheeks, he prepared to yell. After a moment of looking silly, he yelled "KLAIRE! GET DOWN HERE!"

Alexis listened to Adam only half seriously.
She didn't get why he couldn't remember her name either since she had constantly said it to him herself.
    Either way...
"I don't mind pulling my own weight.. I'll work the bar. But, I'd rather do it with a clear head.
If drinking is your way of coping then fine. I'll cope my own way.
Anger...? I'll keep my emotions in check. It's simpler that way." She remembered how she had lost it before a few minutes ago... but..
While Adam started talking about depression and putting anger into bullets, yadayada. Alexis studied Luce for a moment. She could tell the girl was making a bit of an effort now, but, how long would it last? She didn't know and didn't care. She had nothing to prove. She would either be accepted, or wouldn't.
She did however just say to Luce. "He likes to talk too much huh?", if Luce responded was up to her. Alexis just kept herself neutral, not expecting or wanting anything.
Adam seemed to turn more serious and start talking about a particular Demon.
Alexis remembered Lenny mentioning a certain Demon... the one that was responsible.
Suddenly Lenny came out with Carson following him. So he got a gun huh?
The family talk made Alexis feel numb and empty inside. She couldn't remember what it was like to have a family. It had been 14 years... and she was too young back then to remember anything else. But... this was definitely not a family. At least not to her. Not yet. Would that change? Only time would tell.
Lenny yelled for Klaire after looking slightly stupid for a second. Alexis just kept her facial expression blank and empty as usual, and waited.

Scott ignored the call Adam gave out to him, wishing to be left alone at that moment. Though when he heard Lenny calling out for Klaire it made him curious. Now what's going on? Scott looked over at the sword leaning against his wall and took hold of the sheath, bringing the blade along as he headed back towards the bar. He strapped the sheath onto his belt, expecting something important to be up. "What is it?" He asked lowly, turning towards Lenny. "I could use some blood before actually doing anything to be honest." Scott added.

Carson walked out slowly and closed the door."Was that it?" He whispered to Lenny as he passed him.He then walked to a table and sat down.

Luce listened for a long time, her vision going foggy from not blinking. She leaned on the bar, suddenly pulling out her favorite darker colored pistol and resting the tip against Alexis' head and pulled the trigger. Blood spattered the floor and her body tumbled backwards. Suddenly her voice jolted Luce out of her daydream. Damn....now is it the blood that's making me think of such things or just the fact that Adam's getting annoying. She lifted her icy eyes to Alexis. Luce wasn't one to go without answering a question directed at her even if she despised the girl. "He does...." She turned to Adam and glared at him, "If you're expecting me to agree with you, I do. We all want that filth's head on a platter served up to us like the finest wine in the country. But....telling someone how to deal with all this....is against my opinion. You love to talk...and apparently deal with this by running your mouth as fast as you run your women. I'd rather put a bullet in your head and take a shot of whiskey. Who knows what Mr. Sensitive over there does!" she guestured to Scott, unwilling to look him in the eye after all the events of the day. The cold fury in her pale eyes burned on even as Lenny reentered the room and yelled for Klaire. Despite being so angry, Luce's face never changed. She kept a tight leash on her emotions and letting it go over Adam's quick tongue would'v meant she should've died years ago.

"Wait," Adam said as he leaped over the counter. Ignoring everyone, but Lenny, he lowered his voice as he approached their leader. "Let's leave Klaire up there, Len. I know what you're about to do and well, it'd be tough on here, you know?"

Lenny raised an eyebrow. "How did you know-oh, I see," he quickly read Adam's mind. Not out of invasion but by privacy. Lenny heard a thought in Adam's head directed straight at him. Being able to read minds sure did have its advantage. "Premonitions, have you been getting them a lot lately, Mulligan? That's not one of your strongest abilities."

Adam shrugged. "I wouldn't say a lot, but they've been coming easier, but what I'm saying is," he looked around and continued, "Let's not bring up Klad with Klaire in the room. She's not over it completely yet." Before Lenny could say anything, Adam suddenly remembered something. "Hey wait a minute, what about that demon Samael!?"

"Alright, Acolytes, listen up!" Lenny said as he slammed his hands into a large clap. A chair quickly came to him and he grabbed it. "Time for a meeting. We'll talk about Samael later, Mulligan." Lenny telekinetically moved one table closer to him and two chairs quickly followed. "Carson, Alexis, sit here please," he then set his chair two yards in front of that table so he would face them. "You three, take a seat nearby. Make sure you can see their faces," he told Luce, Adam, and Scott.

At least he said please... someone here has manners... Alexis thought to herself.
She wasn't use to being told what to do. But at least it wasn't exactly an order... although it might as well have been. She was stuck here. That's how things were from now on.
Again though, in her mind, she knew it would at least be better than the streets. She actually had a place to stay, people who might warm to her in time... and not try to kill her every second (excluding Luce) or lust after her... (well... Luce did make a quote about Adam earlier... and she didn't know the others that well. But meh... she wouldn't let anyone try anything even if they did)
She sat down when Lenny had gestured... still dead silent.
She wondered what Lenny was up to by getting them all to do this.

Luce growled, much like an animal, rounded the bar and sat on a barstool. She could see Carson and Alexis perfectly fine. Not that she wanted to actually see them a whole lot. Too many people had been killed that she'd "warmed" to that she didn't feel like expending the energy to get to know them and actually want to be around them. She prayed that Carson wouldn't be like Scott with a consistent need to make her feel like a human being. Her thoughts turned to Scott and so did her eyes. Sliding across everyone else and catching on him. Mr. Sensitive...how fitting and bitter. It's Azazel's fault I'm bitter. Everything is that scum of the earth's fault.

"Who?" Samael?. Carson reluctantly sat down. From seeing he could tell Alexis and Luce were alot alike,He wondered how the others thought of him,not that it mattered,he didn't care.He just needed a place to stay and something to do.he figured he could at least try to make a freind,he figured the way things were looking,he'd never truly feel welcome. This looks serious... He looked at Alexis.I just hope i get stuck with anyone but her...so negative....His expression changed,it went blank.Lets see if I can change her mind... He hadn't said anything to her yet,he figured he'd let her talk first,He'd seem awkward if he just blatantly told her to straighten up. He turned and looked straight into Lennys eyes.

Guess I might not even need the sword. Scott leaned his blade against the bar before taking up a bar stool and sitting on it. He hunched forwards and folded his arms, staying silent as he focused his eyes on Alexis and Carson. He breathed in deeply and waited for something to happen, wondering what Lenny called them over for. Demons... The mention of them only brought up thoughts of killing. There were times where it was enjoyable but whenever he thought of the root of it all, Azazel, he could only wonder what he'd feel. Hm... Scott shook his head slowly and returned his gaze back towards Carson and Alexis, waiting quietly.

Adam's eyes narrowed and he walked away. "Alright, but we're definitely talking about that later," he muttered as he sat two seats away from Scott.

"We will, we will," Lenny responded to Adam as he took the chair, twisted it, and sat in it, facing the group. He let out a sigh and first addressed Carson and Alexis with the same thing he told every other Acolyte their first night at the Roadhouse, "First of all, Carson, Alexis, I cannot begin to apologize enough. I know...life must have been Hell for you growing up. Feeling different, not having your mother and then your father or any other family, feeling like a monster at times. It's...well, it's Hell."

Alexis just blankly stared at the man.
They were just words he was saying... words... that were powerless... did nothing.
    Words were powerless.
Yet... hearing him apologise... even though it wasn't his fault, it did trigger something inside her, like a crying child who had just wanted to hear something sympathetic her whole life.
Alexis had never complained about her situation before, not once. If she did, she would have felt like she was losing to the world..
Powerless words... can sometimes do a lot without anyone realising.
But she did what she always did, she locked it away and the key 'en all.
She stayed silent. Her face the same as ever, waiting for Lenny to continue.
