Lenny waved his left hand and the door shut instantly, barely avoiding Scott and Alexis in its swing. "Hold on, now," the middle-aged hunter said. "Scott has a point. Mulligan, you should be ashamed of yourself," he told the white and black haired Acolyte as he walked past him. Lenny reached Alexis and rested a hand on her shoulder. "Look, they're not all like that. It's just that they're..."

"Surprised," Adam finished his sentence as he narrowed his eyes at Lenny. "Don't get me wrong, Alicia," he said, not having remembered Alexis' name, "It's not that I don't want you here. It's that I," he stopped and looked at Lenny again. "It's that I wonder why you weren't here before. Why now, Lenny?"

Lenny shook his head slightly and slowly. Adam was asking the same question that Lenny had asked when he found Alexis and Carson. Instead of correcting the name Adam used, he just answered his question, "I don't know, Mulligan. I searched the entire country to find you Acolytes. Hell, you know what I can do." Lenny was talking about his power, the power to sense the supernatural. It had come in handy when searching for the Acolytes. "You know I have connections, but for some reason, these two," he pulled Alexis closer by her shoulder and nodded towards Carson, "they both slipped through my grasp. I..." Lenny struggled to find the right words. The entire situation made him uncomfortable, made the man who could stare a werewolf in the eyes and not blink flinch with uncertainty, "I need to think about this. Regardless, though." he quickly shifted his tone into something serious. "Make them feel at home. We'll start thinking about living situations later. Go get Luce and get to know your new brother and sister. They have nowhere else," the last phrase was said with an underlying implication. Something the other Acolytes should have figured out long ago despite that it was never said. It wasn't the fact that they had nowhere else to go, it was the fact that Lenny wouldn't let children of Azazel go anywhere else.

Alexis looked back at Lenny as he put a hand on her shoulder.
"Basically, by nowhere else... you're saying you won't let us go either way? ...It's here or nowhere.
Freaks like us with powers are too dangerous to be left alone?"
She removed his hand from her shoulder, and walked back to the main part of the room. She turned her head to regard him again. "I should have killed you in that Alleyway when I had the chance... I never should have listened..."
She looked at the floor and clenched her fist.
    "You say we're family?
Brothers and Sisters like it's that simple.
Clearly Luce or whatever her name is doesn't see it like that.
So, what... did I do the one stupid thing in my life and let my guard down for the first time?
    Now to be trapped here?"
She turned suddenly and grabbed Lenny by the collar, glaring intently at him.
"I've always been alone! I've always had nothing! Never relied on anyone or anything but me!
Then you came along with these stories and explanations and promises for a chance at something new! Filling my head with this crap!
    But what's this really about?
We're too dangerous so you're keeping us here, is that it?! Was anything you said about Azazel and Demon's true?!"
She suddenly looked shocked for a second and pushed him away. Turning to the bar and resting both hands on it...
She was always in control of her emotions... at least... she had been until then.
"...Just what is it that you want from us? ...from me?" she at last asked him weakly.

"Don't fret so much. We were all like you at one point in our lives. You weren't the only one who was alone." Scott turned away from Alexis figuring that things were calming down and that everyone would be back inside soon enough. "Just relax, the place grows on you over time." He added as he stepped inside. Though the part about "getting Luce" wasn't directed entirely at him, he still went after her.

Scott headed up the stairs and stopped in front of Luce's door, knocking on it. "It's not that bad to have new people in the family. Or are you shy?" He spoke loud enough so that he was sure that she heard him. Scott stepped away from the door and folded his arms, glancing over down the stairs. "And we have to get to know them..." That'll be awkward.

Adam walked towards Alexis until he was merely inches away from her. "Welcome to the family. There's two rules here," he said, genuinely trying to welcome her but sounding more intimidating than anything. "Two rules," he held his middle and index fingers on his left hand up. "Number one: Lenny's room is off-limits," he brought down the middle finger and pointed to the door behind the bar counter, "Number two," he raised it again and pointed it to himself, "Don't call me 'Mulligan.' Name's 'Adam,' simple as that. The old man doesn't get that. You wouldn't like it if someone called you by the wrong name, right, Alicia?" Before she could answer, he turned around. "And you, Carson? You get an extra rule," Adam walked over to the new male Acolyte and said, "No jacking off in the shower." Adam then turned around and smiled at both the new Acolytes. "All we want...is to be a family." And Azazel's head on a platter, He added the last bit to himself.

"Jesus, Mulligan, no jacking off in the shower? There's a lady present, watch your tone," Lenny scolded before looking at Alexis. "I apologize for his...choice of words. Give him a few days," he leaned over and whispered in the girl's ear, "He'll get your name right, you'll see!"

    "I bet..." Alexis answered sarcastically.
She then looked over at Adam.
"Mulligan. I'll start calling you by your name when you call me by mine." she said a little bitterly.
And that was that... she planted herself in a seat at the bar, leaning against it slightly with her arms folded.
She hadn't cared about the shower comment anyway, but she was slightly taken back at Lenny referring to her as a lady.
No one had referred to her that way before.

Carson let out a little smile and looked up.He flipped his hair over his eyes so he wouldn't have to make eye-contact with anyone."Who made that one up,eh?" He said standing up.Carson noticed the bitterness in Alexis voice,He didn't say anything. He,too, wasn't to crazy of the idea that strangers dragged him here and told him to live here, but he figured having a negative attitude wouldn't help either. He figured trying to get on their good side would make them feel more comfortable with him.

Luce ignored Scott's words at first, mulling themover as she pulled the trigger again, aiming at her second bottle. At his asking if she was shy, she jerked her hand up and the bullet hit the wall above the bottle. Damn....I suppose there are some things I still need to drill into his head. Still holding the revolver, she flung open her door, letting Scott view the almight grand scheme of grays and black that comprised the color scheme of her room. "Listen, buddy, I'm not shy. I just don't like other girls. Men, I can handle. A well aimed shot to somewhere personal and I'm off their radar for a few hours. Girls....always want to tell their secrets to you. They want heart to heart and live off of your secrets and private things. Pretty soon they're borrowing your clothes, taking your nail polish, and using your shampoo. I. Don't. Share. Got it?" Luce did consider herself being unusually harsh about it, but she hadn't been expecting new people when they got home. Her nerves were still shot from flipping out in the cave. Sighing, Luce pulled her hair out of her tight ponytail and touched her head to the door. Icy blue eyes sparkled from under a curtain of silver hair. "Lenny told you to fetch me. I heard him. There's something wrong with Adam too. If I were him, I'd learn her name quick. People from the streets don't like their names messed up."

She truly did not understand what was such a big deal. But she decided to do her contemplating elsewhere, picking herself up from the old wooden chair she was sitting on and dragging herself up the stairs. She passed Luce's room, briefly listening to the commotion coming from inside before turning on her heel and entering her own room. She was never an organized person, but now it was even worse. Newspapers were plastered up against her windows to ensure that no sun would get through. Her floor was buried under clothing and books, covers piled up on the floor beside the bed. She managed lazily to slip out of her shoes, letting herself fall so that her head landed on the pillows beneath her. She breathed.

For a moment she could feel her eyes closing, but then they opened - -all desire to sleep leaving her in that instant. It was hard to sleep when all you could do was think. Think about the past. Think about when you were happier, and all of the people who were absent since then. All of the missing pieces. All the regrets. She knew she had to stop dwelling on it sooner or later. Thinking about him when bring him back. And she couldn't afford to slow the team down. Feelings were contagious. And not just hers. Luce's anger. Adam's spontaneity. Scott's calm. It's all melted together to create something new. It's just that she couldn't bring herself to interact with the rest. It wasn't that she was shy, she was simply lacking interest. She knew they're supposed to be a family, but it didn't always feel that way. Everyone was so disconnected and loss in their own world. They all had their own thoughts and feelings to deal with. Their own secrets and their own fears.

It wasn't anyone's fault. But the distance was getting to her more than ever now. The only one that she was remotely close to had been Klad. And now that he was gone, she was lacking courage more than ever. Everyone would just so intimidating. But she figured she was no exception.

Adam looked at the girl confused. "I got your name wrong? Sorry!" He yelled, since he hated when people called him something aside from Adam (except when he pretended to be from the FBI). "Let me make it up to you, Alexandria," he told her as he hopped over the bar, sliding his rear across the counter. A sigh was perfectly sneaked in his motion; the tension was almost gone. He landed on his feet, crouched down, pulled up a glass from below the counter, spun around in a full circle, laid the glass on the counter and pointed to the back. "We got everything from Bud Light to moonshine to any kind of vodka you could want," he slammed his hands on the table and looked Alexis in the eyes, "What's your poison?"

Lenny chuckled and walked through an open door in the counter. "Don't put your ass on the counter again, Mulligan. Otherwise, I'll hang it from my wall." Lenny grabbed a bottle from the shelves, not paying attention to the label, and walked over to his bedroom door. "Carson, come with me." He said it quietly, but loud enough for all of them to hear.

Adam felt a chill. No one was allowed in Lenny's room and yet he invited Carson?

Alexis sighed. She didn't let herself be intimidated by his sudden yell.
    "Alexis." she corrected him.
"I don't drink... never have. So, no idea." She told him, she was blunt, but there wasn't a trace of rudeness in her voice. It was just how she spoke in this instance.
She looked over at Carson as he was called over by Lenny to a secret room.
She didn't really care what was going on... but she was curious at the fact both she and Carson were new and yet he was the only one being called right now.
And did that mean she was going to be called right after?

"Uhh sure....Lenny?Thats your name, right?" He said slowly following him."What did i do wrong?" He said entering the room.He didn't let go of his knife,he didn't know what to expect, should Lenny attack him Carson was ready. He knew he probably couldn't take him,but he figured someone would jump in to help if he did attack.

Scott kept quiet as Luce spoke, giving her a moment after she finished before running a hand through his dark hair. He shook his head slowly and folded his arms, breathing out deeply. "You can drop the tough act." He finally said. "When all's said and done this little group is the only family we have." Scott turned away from Luce and lowered his head slightly as he dropped his hands to his sides. He stood there for a second or two before stepping away from Luce's doorway. "This isn't the streets anymore. The sooner you remember that, the better." He added lowly, not looking over at Luce as he headed back down the stairs, hoping that what he said had gotten through to her. Scott wasn't always the most serious person of the group, he had his moments but he rarely had a chance to show it. I'd rather not have us all at everyone else's throats..There's enough blood to go around without adding our own.

Luce stood, shocked by what Scott had said. He spoke the truth and she knew it. Luce's silver eyes closed slowly and she closed her door slightly to hide herself. Hide....that's what I did today... I hid from a girl who knew similar things that I know. I hid because I worry about what she'll say to me. How could I be such a coward? Here I thought I'd left all that behind. she thought scornfully at herself. Balling up her fists, she touched the revolver gently and replaced it under her pillow. "Fine Scott....you want me to stop being who I am....but I can't do that. You'll have to settle for me as me. My family will learn that Luce Shadows doesn't play this game fairly." She hated herself and what she'd done all those years ago. That girl didn't need to die and those men didn't need to be paralysed and broken because they'd wanted her.

Lightly hopping down the stairs, Luce cast an empty, broken look toward Alexis and snatched a glass from behind the bar. Pouring herself a glass from her own bottle of Jack Daniels, she swallowed the alcohol and shattered the glass in her hand, wincing from the glass cutting into her hand. "My bad..." Sliding the glass into her palm and throwing it away, Luce tended to her hand, pulling hair over her shoulder.

Lenny smiled and motioned for Carson to close the door behind him. "Leonard Fredericks, actually, but only my mother ever called me Leonard, may she rest in peace," Lenny spread his arms out and showed the entirety of his room to Carson. "Take a good look because you'll never step foot in here again." Lenny's room was unusually large and circular. On the end opposite of the door was a long narrow bed, neatly made with white sheets and an olive-colored pillow. The walls were dark wood. Against another wall were a row of desks, each with several papers, books, and folders scattered about. Maps could be seen. There were also compasses. Around the desks were bookshelves filled with books thicker than Carson's thighs and older than Lenny himself. One desk had two separate computers, both top of the line. Opposite the rows of desks were file cabinets, each held shut by pad locks. Rows of white powders made intricate designs on the floor; it was salt. Strange symbols were carved all the place. "Tell me, Carson," Lenny suddenly said as he reached onto a desk, "Ever use one of these?" He grabbed a sawed-off shotgun and aimed the handle towards the new Acolyte.

Adam raised an eyebrow. "Hmm, a newbie, eh?" He turned around and grabbed his chin, scanning the shelves. "Guess we'll start you off with something soft, a wuss drink, as they say," a devilish smile crossed his face as he found the bottle he was looking for. "One shot," he said as he grabbed it and turned around. He slammed the bottle on the table, the label facing him, and said, "Just to start you off." He glanced down and read the label to himself. Everclear.

Carson shut the door behind him.he turned and looked at the gun."No...Why?" He spoke softly, reaching for the sawed-off shotgun. He looked around at all the stuff. He felt kinda intimated, not that it mattered, they were on the same side, either way.He finally griped the sawed-off shotgun. He let go of the knife. He figured he could use this as a weapon if he attacked."What is this?" He said turning around, inspecting the gun and room."I mean..." He stopped. He realized he was playing dumb,he knew the answer to his own question,it was a gun.At least he thought it was."Is this why I'm here?"

    Alexis sighed again.
"...If I must." she said, looking at the bottle.
She'd honestly never drunk alcohol before... She had just never been interested, and on the streets, despite what most people thought when they saw a drunk beggar on the side of the road.
It was always better she found to have a clear head.
However she wasn't on the streets at the moment. The one thing was, she knew the streets. She knew them well after living on them practically her whole life... from being a 4-5 year old girl up until today...
As such she still felt she wasn't safe here. But... at the end of the day, this would be a better life than being on them.
Well... other than the whole fighting monsters. But, if this was going to be her home... she still had to try and fit in. Not that she cared about getting on with them.
She did not trust anyone here in the slightest. At least yet. She figured, she'd end up having to trust these guys with her life and them, her.
Sorta... She was definitely going to make sure she watched her own back though.

Much better. Scott looked as he headed over to the bar by Luce, leaning over it as he glanced over at Alexis and Adam. Giving her a drink? Not the first thing I'd do. He looked back at Luce, seeing the blood on her hand from the broken glass. "Do you want help with that?" He spoke quietly, turning slightly to watch Luce. "Carter and Lenny have been in the room for awhile now. Think anything important happened?" He asked, not directing it to Luce in particular. Scott sighed out lowly as he turned his attention over towards Alexis and Adam. "You don't need to drink that if you don't want to."

Believed or not, Luce's mind was filled with only the idea that she had reacted poorly. Sighing as she was making her hand worse. Her fingers shook nervously as she picked out the glass. Being gentle and careful wasn't something she could do well. Glancing up at Scott, she almost snarled at him, but glancing back down at her bloody mess of a hand now she gave up and dropped her hand in front of him on the bar, "If you wouldn't mind. I think I'm making it worse." Leaving her hand in front of him she thumped her head onto the bar and mumbled, "I made this whole thing worse, didn't I....? I should've kept my thoughts to myself."

Scott shifted in his chair and looked at Luce's hand, slowly taking it in his own. Funny how a little thing like glass can do so much... "At least you came around, don't get so glum about it." In his other hand he held a small piece of glass, having taken it out of Luce's hand while he spoke. He raised her hand a little further and stared at it for a moment as he looked for any other small fragments left in it. There was still just a few pieces but none that looked too difficult to pull out. "You just need a little more patience. Though...I doubt I'm the best example of that." Scott placed down the last shard of glass on the bar table, looking at the stains of blood left on it. I'll clean that later. Scott looked back over at Luce, almost embarrassed at how gentle he had been. So much for being all muscle. "I think it'd be best if we got your hand cleaned and bandaged." Scott spoke quietly, lowering his gaze before he rose to his feet waiting for Luce to do the same.

Luce hadn't wanted to lift her head while she felt Scott remove the glass from her hand. Her cheeks felt like they were on fire as she strove to ignore her own insecurity and his warm hands. "I'm not being glum...I'm being human. That is what you said I should be like. Less like some cold-hearted demon? Isn't that what you said? More or less?" Hearing him stand, Luce's icy eyes flicked over, through the curtain of silver hair and glared at the pieces of her shot glass he'd removed from her hand. Following Scott as he stood with her eyes, she focused on less embarrassing thoughts and calmed her blood pressure. Standing she glared at him, "At least it's not as messy as when I did it." she commented, inspecting her cut up hand, "You're....being freakishly nice to me. I mean...it's just different."
