People using Mupen64 cannot connect to people using Project64k, and vice-versa

If the game isn't even out yet.... then why would it be on computers? =/

    So...
    Yeah...
The update today was alright, but I found something a little more interesting in it than just a Pokemon update:

Does that mean a charactere actually celebrates when a character goes flying? If so, freakin' awesome.

It might be one of Diddy's taunts

Yeah It looks like it might just be a Diddy thing.

I was hoping it wasn't, but it does sound more logical that way. xD

Yeah, think of how annoying it'd be if every time you killed someone, the game automatically made you taunt? xD you'd be left wide open, lol

They most likely just staged the screenshot so that Diddy was taunting when they took the picture...which is what they do for the majority of the screenshots, stage everyone's positions and stuff

It could be a good aesthetic if they did it automatically in situations like that, but if they do, they should make it so the taunt is cancelable at wil (i.e. Diddy will start his taunt animation, but it will stop immediately if you decide you want to dash away to avoid an incoming attack).

That'd work for 1 vs. 1 battles. Not sure how that would do in a 4 player brawl, though. You could accidentally go into taunt at the exact wrong moment and get knocked off when you already have 300% damage...

....which is also unlikely to happen.

Well, the main point is the taunt would be cancelable at *any* time. Manual movement will always have top priority over the taunt (and I'm only referring to these hypothetical auto-taunts, not the ones you activate yourself, although it would be nice if these could be canceled too). So if you were to get hit while doing an auto-taunt, your slow reflexes would be the one to blame, and not the taunt. XD

xD What I meant was, if you were to defeat an opponent, and right at the second they die, you're about to clash with another character. Then you taunt, and you forgot why. xD Like, within a split second.

Unless the taunt was completely overridden by all commands you could do (mainly jumping, because you can't taunt in the air).

But yes, otherwise slow reflexes would be the problem. lol I agree.

If you want to taunt after you kill someone, that should be your decision to go and press the Taunt button when you feel it's safe/necessary, I wouldn't like it if they took the liberty to make it automatic even if it was cancelable =\

    @Darky: Yeah that's basically what I'm implying.

Like, regardless if you had let's say 20 frames of standing neutral, or 20 frames of starting up a taunt animation, if you want to jump/dash/dodge, the taunt would be overriden.

    In your scenario:
If you jumped immediately to dodge the incoming attack afterward, then the taunt animation would probably never start up (or at least, the animation was cancelled so early in the frame start-up that the human eye wouldn't notice it).

But yeah, all the taunt is doing is "replacing" the neutral stance your character would otherwise take if it weren't there. And neutral stances can instantly go into any attack/move at the player's will.

    Hypothetical discussions for lulz.

EDIT: But like you said, in 4 player FFAs, chances are you're going to be constantly moving even after hitting people on and off the platform, so actually seeing a fully-animated taunt would be scarce. And because it would be cancellable at any time, it would be pretty much a vestigial aesthetic that would only activate in an extremely specific instance where you were too lazy to do anything else at the moment (i.e. standing still from hitting someone off the map/KO'ing them long enough to get the taunt finished).
