Still Pit/Fox for me... although I feel compelled to try to make Ike work (assuming they don't fix him; he seems kinda broken).

SmashLeague gave some rough details on how their rank system is going to work. They're planning to modify the ELO and Glicko-2 system a bit. Can't wait to register in mid-january.

    And good luck, Darky. :3

If you use the Controls function under Options, you can assign controls to any button configuration you like.

    First, input a name.

What’s important to know is that button configurations must be tied to a specific name. Once you do that, any time you choose that name afterward, you’ll automatically play with the button settings you chose.

One name can handle controls for four controllers.

    Even a GameCube Controller!

    Even an NES-style Wii Remote!

    Even a Classic Controller!

    Even the Nunchuk!

...Huh? What’s that thing that says "Shake Smash" under Nunchuk?

With this function, you just shake the Wii Remote to do a Smash Attack in the direction you shook it. It’s a little bonus we added.

Also, if you turn Tap Jump off, you can cut the jump function out of the up direction on the Control Stick. This means it’s easier to do an up attack without jumping into the air. Use whichever way you prefer.

    Then try it out!

Do it to your heart’s content. Try to find the perfect button combination!

But, if you decide to play Smash at a friend’s house, your button configuration naturally won’t be there. And trying to set it up all over again is sort of a pain.

I didn’t miss this detail, though.

Press the + Button on the name list to open the menu.

When the menu screen pops up, press and hold both the 1 Button and the 2 Button. After a moment, your name will be saved to the Wii Remote. Of course, you can expect your control settings to carry over along with your name!

Button settings are transferred by way of the Wii Remote.

Pack your name into your Wii Remote and transfer it the Wii at your friend’s house. Then choose that name to play with your button configuration.

Wow. I hate to say it, but we really have thought of everything.

    Interesting.

Very interesting @ Tap Jump function on/off.

Personally I use the control stick for regular jumps, but I know that function would definitely make UAir'ing from a shorthop so much easier to do. But since I desperately need my control stick for jumping (I only use X for shorthops), I'll stick with using the c-stick for UAirs.

    I know I probably sound like an idiot, but how do you do that? D;
Also, anyone think I have a shot at become one of their designers? I know I'm not the greatest, but all they're asking for are simple designs...

Well, I'm not quite sure myself exactly what they want, but there are many ways to do it. The simplest would be to take a camera and take a picture of the TV before the match begins (possibly after too). The slightly more time-consuming way (which I probably *will* be doing for all my matches) is to record the entire match from start to finish, then afterward rip an image (or several) from the video itself for submission (if the conflict arises).

I've done several other online leagues in the past for older games like Worms Armageddon, and I've rarely had to submit pictures for verification on who won and who lost. For the most part, people are pretty good with the honour system in terms of conceding a defeat, especially when they know there are measures in place to make sure that it can be proved on who won at the end.
Sure, why not? Wouldn't hurt to try.

    Wario: Final Smash

    <Wario-Man>

    Wario’s Final Smash is Wario-Man!

    Eat garlic!

    Wario-Man!

Even after becoming Wario-Man, you control him as you normally would. And he doesn’t unleash any overwhelmingly powerful attacks.

But he is able to negate a variety of moves and boasts some rather odd abilities...

    Punch to pummelpummelpummelpummel!

    It’s a sideways-sliding shoulder tackle!

His midair moves make him fly?!

His special moves are also powered up, but the one thing you can’t do is ride his bike.

    Don’t do it.

This may seem like a joke, but you absolutely must not ride it.

    Tooooooo faaaaaaaaast!!!

I am thoroughly disgusted at the moment. lol. That outfit scares me. I'm even more afraid of seeing how that Final Smash looks in motion.

I think the Motorcycle is probably really powerful, but it goes way too fast D= so maybe on really flat stages like Smashville and Bridge of Eldin you'll be able to use it effectively without killing yourself
