He's a reaplcement for Mewtwo, just like how Toon Link is a replacement for Young Link.
It's time for new blood, eve if the moveset is similar

Thing is, you didn't specify that there should be a new character using a similar moveset. What you said is most easily inferred as "be rid of Lucario, and thus his moveset."

Does that make sense? The idea of using a new character with a similar moveset, I'm ok with, but I'm not ok with being rid of Lucario without a proper replacement.

Toon Link, I don't really care for, since we'll still have Link lol.

And that's why you don't make assumptions and just look at what people actually say, instead

What's with the asshole attitude dude? I'm just saying how your posts can be inferred. Am I wrong in saying that they couldn't be taken that way?

How is it lazy to reuse a popular character that's important to the plot of a current game? There's not even really that much able to represent Pokémon this generation, as there's no Pokémon similar enough to Mewtwo or Lucario that can be used for battle. The only thing revealed first besides starters and Legendaries was Sylveon, and it's not human shaped like Lucario. Even Zoroark seems more likely.

But Lucario is more relevant than Zoroark is, and that's most likely why he's being used.

And honestly saying it's lazy to reuse Lucario is like saying it's lazy to reuse Sonic, which it isn't because he's pretty important this generation.

The key difference is that Sonic is the main character if a franchise. That makes it completely different. There are what, 600 pokemon at this point? It was already silly replacing Mewtwo with him because Mewtwo has WAY more street cred. Now reusing Lucario at this point seems more like they just weren't willing to make new assets.
This Smash overall has a very low effort feel. It doesn't feel like their heart is in it at all

As of Today's Nintendo Direct, It is confirmed that Little Mac from the game Punch Out is going to be a playable character. I would post the trailer along with this post, however it has yet to be uploaded to youtube. An interesting join. From Assist Trophy to Playable Character.

Real talk, Lil' Mac is probably going to be my new main. He's always been one of my favorite Nintendo avatars and I always think the world needs more Punch-Out. This is just the cast of my dreams, even if I don't like Smash.

The name's Little Mac, I'm the Punch-Out! king.
I'll float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.
That God-damned Mike Tyson ain't got shit on me.
Put the gloves on and KO for the world to see.
I got the Doc in my corner, he's my right-hand man.
I already beat King Hippo bitch, I ain't playin'!
I got my special punch ready for you suckers that test me.
Knock 'em out in round one, that's how the good Lord blessed me.

I saw the Little Mac trailer yesterday, and if his recovery weren't so mediocre, I'd say he needed nerfing. I love that this cast is branching out into newer titles as well as classic franchises.
    Here's the official announcement trailer.

I feel like the Wii Fit Trainer might end up being my main, but I'll have to see who's strong yet agile. I'd like to branch out from using Kirby...

Finally Little Mac is a playable character. Ever since he appeared as a summon trophy in brawl, my colleagues and I have always wondered if he would ever become an actual character. This is truly a surprise I did not see coming, and it fits him too! Gods knows this character deserves a shot when you think about it.

"It's your time, Mac. Show 'em what ya got, Baby!"

Little Mac had me so hyped when I first saw his announcement trailer during the Direct. I've never played any of the Punch Out titles myself, but I still have a great amount of respect for the titles as Nintendo Classics, which is why Little Mac's been one of my most-wanted for a while now.

Before Mac's reveal, I wasn't sure who my main was gonna be. I was torn between Sonic, Rosalina or Mega Man, but after seeing what Little Mac is capable of in that trailer, I'm so tempted to go with him. His ground game is insane; he's so fast both in running speed and attack speed, he has a counter, super armor on some of his moves, he can run under Mario's fireballs and completely fly past Mega Man's fully-charged buster like it's nothing, plus he's got that unique meter mechanic (which I can only assume was in a previous Punch Out game). And to avoid being OP, his air game is not good at all, as Doc so kindly pointed out in the trailer, so staying on the stage is his #1 priority.

All in all, Little Mac is one of the hypest reveals yet in my opinion.

His lack of air recovery isn't good enough to be his only downfall. I assume he is also going to be put into the light weight class meaning he will be easy to knock off the stage at a low percentage. That is the only way to really make his character more fixed. Sakurai did say he wanted this game to be more balanced than Melee so to me that seems like a fair adjustment.

As for your mains, you know as well as I do, you'll play this game so much, eventually everyone will be your main.

Definitely. Given Little Mac's, well...Little size, there's no doubt he'll be in the light weight class. It'd be a tad weird for someone of his stature to be a heavy weight, or even a medium weight, if that's even a thing in Smash.

That's probably true, haha. Thing is though, I'm what one would call a competitive smash player. Not a pro, not even close, but yeah. I was too young to take Melee seriously when it was out (I was like...6 when it came out), and Brawl was not very competitive-friendly (in my opinion), so Smash 4 will really be the first game where I (hope I) can actually dedicate myself to a character or two and learn the ins-and-outs of those characters while not having to worry about whether or not I was going to trip the next time I turned around. Seriously who thought tripping was a good idea...But that's a topic for another time. Also I don't mean to come off as one of those "NO ITEMS FOX ONLY FINAL DESTINATION" guys, I just like to have a game where one kind of player isn't just left out, so both competitive play and casual play can be enjoyed equally. I can only hope that Smash 4 can cater to both kinds of players.

tl;dr: I hope Smash 4 is friendly to both competitive and casual players.

ALRIGHT LADIES. He's finally here, the 2nd member of the DK group with his peanut gun, he's bigger and faster, and stronger too, he's the little monkey of the DK crew. DK, Diddy Kon; DK, Diddy Kong is here.

I'm quite excited for this game. I'm not too big into it like a few of my friends are, I just enjoy playing it. I think I'm most excited to see that Lucario is back.

SO HYPE FOR LIL MAC YOU HAVE NO IDEA

I had a feeling the assist trophies were a test bed for new characters. Now I'm sincerely hoping we get Isaac and Shadow as well. And I wonder if there's any chance of the W101 showing up in the game... From what I've read Kamiya would be honored, but obviously nobody can talk about it even if it's a possibility.

My last request for Smash now is for K.Rool to be implemented. Either way this game will definitely get me to buy a WiiU.

    yesss little Mac yesss
You have no idea how great K. Rool would make me feel, but the recent DK games have just brushed the classic villains under the rug. Getting a Viking would be more likely, unfortunately.

I have nothing against the new Country games. Except that they have Country in the name. I bought/completed DKCR3D and after completing it felt more like going back to DKC3 than continue onto the extras. I'm just an old fan who misses/loves the original 3 Country's. Plus the vibes I get from DKCTF is similar to NSMBU in how you're taken away from the island and the original island is changed. Despite those vibes thought Tropical Freeze does look like fun.
