Nintendo Super Smash Bros. 4

They already said something about Namco characters. I can't remember their exact words, but it was either a definite no, or a very unlikely maybe.

 

They said that they would love to put in tales characters, but the appeal may not be there. Originally most of the symphonia characters were meant to be in SSBM but the project was abandoned since Raine was too difficult to figure out a move set for. If Tales were going to go in, they'd have to be Nintendo console characters such as Lloyd Irving, Luke fon Fabre, Cress Alvein, or Asbel Lhant.

 

Luke or Lloyd would be pro lol.
Idc about any1 else from ToS as long as Lloyd or kratos even would be in it. id be soo happy (fanboy scream)

 

I'd like to see a source for that.

Also, as the rule is the character must appear in a game on a Nintendo console or handheld, characters from Phantasia, Symphonia (and Dawn of the New World), Abyss, Innocence, Hearts, Graces and Tempest qualify. If any of them were to get a character in the game, I'd say it would be Symphonia as that's the one most Nintendo fans are familiar with.

Interesting to see that she has use of the pink phantom from ST

 

I'm not sure if she is using it, or it is an assist trophy and they angled a taunt really well. It could be a change to her side attack in which she does Din's Fire. That move was broken in SSBB so replacing it may have been something. I'm still not certain though. In ST she had to be in her ghost state and "physically" take control of it by soul possession. That makes me think its more along the line of Assist Trophy.

 

I'm disappointed that they kept the same design but brought in the phantom from a game with a different art style. blugh

 

I was hoping more for at least a new design (something like a Twilight Princess and Skyward sword fusion would be nice), but even so I was hoping even more that they at least made her blond since she is usually a blond. oh well I can't complain since she looks nice and glad to see her in.

Meaning what exactly? Something wrong with Lucario? Its not as if they have many options for usable character in Pokemon. Besides, Nothing wrong with returning characters. //loves Lucario//

 

Of all the franchises, Pokemon should be getting new characters. Maybe Lucario will be updated to have his mega evo as a final smash, but something more relevant to current gen would make more sense.
And stuff like Toon Link. If they need a Link clone, couldn't they at least use the model from a recent Zelda game?
I'm just having a hard time imagining who they're cutting if they're keeping all these characters from previous games.

 

Lucario is a plot point in X and Y when Mega Evolution comes in. That's pretty relevant to me.

 

So if he mega evolves then that'll be kinda relevant
It still seems a touch lazy to reuse him, same way it is to reuse Toon Link.
I mean don't get me wrong, I love Toon Link, he;s my man in Brawl.
But stuff like Toon Link and Lucario really seem like one-offs to me

 

I'm hoping they give him his Mega and make it act sort of like Wario's final smash did in Brawl, just not so speedy. As for Toon Link, they've had a Link clone since Melee so its nothing new. Besides, Toon Link is basically half the Zelda games now being WW, PH, ST, MC, and plenty of other handheld games. There are still a lot of characters they haven't put in IE Earthbound duo, Ike, Jigglypuff, Yoshi, etc.
I also don't know what kind of Pokemon they could use. As I said, there isn't much to work with in these past 2 generations. I mean, Zoroark maybe? But Lucario and Mewtwo seem to be the best human shaped pokemon to use for fighting.

 

maybe they can add Pokemon Trainer in again, but instead use the 3 starters from Pokemon X and Y this time.

 

They've had a different link clone in both games though. And if you're going by the representing Zelda route then the design from A Link Between Worlds should ahev been uses.
Ness Jigglypuff and Yoshi won't e dropped, they've been there since the start

 

How is Lucario a one-off? There's no other character in the game that shares his fighting style.
