I'm hoping that you can change the controls in the full 3DS game. I'm used to blocking with the Left shoulder button, but the 3DS demo only lets you use the Right.

Megaman is solid and I love his Smash attacks. Kinda wish his up-B did some damage tho.
Villager is really neat. I like that you can either ride the side-B or cast it and jump off. Down-B is a neat mini "will he or won't he finish it?" trick.

I haven't actually confirmed this myself, but everyone keep saying the Japanese version has custom controls
I mean, they've had custom controls since Melee, haven't they? don't see why they'd stop now

Yeah, me too. I'm sorry I chose to make money and get some permanent and then download the free demo seven days after I get the thing with permanence.

The 3DS demo has arrived on the eShop!

You are offered the choice between only five characters in the demo (Mario, Link, Pikachu, Villager, and Mega Man, with three alts each besides the default) and one stage (Battlefield, though you can choose between default and Final Destination mode). You can play solo or with friends via local wireless, and look at tips in the vault.

Oh, man I totally planning on getting this but my mom is the one with all the money and she said it was a pointless game which is arguable, so I spent the whole dayn trying to convince her with cool graphics. I really wanna play as Palutena (but I'm not sure why.)

The demo is very fun and while I do wish there had been a tutorial for each character's individual movesets, I love it.

The alt Mega Man skins are pretty mediocre though. Why white as the base for every color? WHY???

Protip: Those aren't all the skins that'll be in the full game. :>

Regardless, I hate them. Mario's are great, Link's are incredible, Pikachu's are as adorable as ever and the Villager constantly looks ready to kill, but Mega Man's demo skins are still an injustice to THAT FINAL SMASH YOOOOOOOOO~

Pulling it off makes you feel even more powerful than I thought it would. I love everything about it. I really just want to do a few Smash Runs, but that'll have to wait for the full game...

Most of Mega Man's suits were like that in the game anyway

Seeing that Final Smash during the tournament a few months back doesn't do Megaman's smash enough justice. Using it even once, it feels so awesome. And I don't get enough time to appreciate the Megamans that appear there. Though it would be nice to know those moves, because I feel like i'm not getting them all. And I keep hitting the B button to jump instead of X or Y; I'm probably going to have to change that when I get the full game

Nintendo didn't just arbitrarily choose white, they modeled the schemes after the colors he changes to when he switches special weapons in the original games. That being said, I LOVE the alts, considering.

Overall, lackluster demo for me, but eh, the game's coming out pretty soon anyway so it's no big deal, haha. I'm still finding Link to be my main again for the fourth time in a row, but Megaman's coming at a close second, as far as the five playable characters concern.

Music and graphics are great on the 3DS, meaning the Wii U version must be even more beautiful in comparison. Controls took a pretty long time to figure out, but after getting the hang of it it becomes quite fun. Now to find if kids on my block or students at my University will play with me D:

I hope we get DLC for more characters and stages, but I doubt it will happen.

Managed to find time to play the demo, and oh how I loved that final smash for Megaman. Everyone was saying how great it is, but you have to execute it yourself for he first time to really feel the excitement for it. Demo itself is such a tease though, haha.

It's super smash bros. Of course they'll let you customize your controls! ^_^

Having been playing the demo, I'm am hyped for the real thing. I can say that Villager is one to not be underestimated; considering that down + B move has been so amazing time and time again. It's like Solid Snakes down + B move in Brawl; you never know when the user will strike with it. The planting phase hurts, the tree growth phase knocks people up, the chopping phase can hurt people, and the timbeeeeeerr phase is just pure K.O beauty. Mind games man... @_@

So we got five days 'till the game's out everywhere that's not Japan (six if you live in Australia). Has anyone chosen a character or characters they wanna try and master right off the bat?

For me, I'm definitely going straight to Pit when I load up the game for the first time. After seeing how he's changed between Brawl and this game, he's looking to be a much better character overall in my opinion.

I'm also gonna be giving Little Mac, Palutena, , Sonic, Mega Man and Pac-Man a try as I'd like to have them be my main few.
