She didn't bother returning the salute. But despite the Sergeant's false drunkeness, the Lieutenant thought it best to answer his question anyway, if only to put his mind at ease a little.
"Unit 00's pilot, Miss Ayanami, has the skills needed to fight Angels, but even she wouldn't be able to fight them all alone. Unit 01's pilot I've yet to meet, but I've been told that he's the Commander's son. If he's anything like his father, he'll get the job done."
She eyed Heinrich for a moment, scanning his features so as to judge his reaction properly.
"NERV is using the oldest they're able to, you know." she stated, only slightly less formal than before.
"The nature of the Evas and their creation means that anyone born before the Second Impact fifteen years ago is completely incompatible with them. It's not a decision they seem to take lightly."
Marida knew what it was like to be used as nothing more than a weapon. She had the skills, the knowledge, and the fortitude to face Angels herself, but she, like so many others, was simply unable to use the one thing effective against them.

"Oh, that's right. I can handle things, you go ahead."

It was a lot quieter than Guy had thought it would be with all these people around. People were speaking, but not really conversing. It made sense really; most of them hadn't seen a place like this before.
"I was thinking about something." he said to all of the guests quite suddenly.
"This is a big place, designed specially to be easy to find your way around. If any of you want to see the Command Rooms, Trish and the Chief would be able to show you, but I think I should see how everyone's doing with PhantomGao and the other machines. They might need my help with something."

~~

A strange noise pervaded the hallway, drawing Kotaro's attention, and causing him to see the source.
"Ah, you're Carter, right?" he asked the approaching boy, offering his hand to him.
"We haven't really had a chance to speak since you joined us, but I hear you helped out against BioNet today. I wasn't sure if that red machine was ever going to be any use."

~~~
This should be the source. the boy thought to himself, wandering through the unlocked double-doors and down the stairwell of the building his senses had led him to.
He wasn't sure exactly what it meant, but each time he felt it that same word entered his mind.
Genesis... just what does that mean?
As he approached the bottom of the stairwell he heard two people conversing, their voices slightly echoed by the underground walls.
"No, but what I'm saying is that if it were able to." came one voice, causing the other to respond.
"It ain't gonna 'appen, so quit yer yammerin' about it an' move dis damn stuff wit' me."
The second voice appeared heavily accented which was probably just to make it obvious which one was speaking without using colours.
"If. If it happened, what would you do?" the first persisted.
"Da way I sees it; if dis 'Genesis' did get stolen, it wouldn't matter anyhow. Dey'd have as much luck as we 'av at openin' da damn thing, and da boss'd 'av it stolen right back."
Genesis. So this really is the right place. he thought, proceeding into the next room stealthily, trying his hardest not to alert whomever it was in the room before he had to.
~~~

"Hey babe, come here often?" came Kamina's absurd response as he and Simon ran alongside her, Kamina himself sporting the re-sheathed No-dashi across his back, his arms rested on it casually, as though none of them were under threat from a metal giant with teeth twice the size of people.
"So you're gonna slug it out, huh? Let me help ya out!"
Ignoring any reply, he continued talking as the red-headed sniper crouched behind a column-like piece of rubble.
"You came from the surface, didn't ya? That's awesome! So, that's a weapon they use on the surface, huh?
Damn... you've got a mighty fine body! Surface chicks are a breed apart!"

All through his bro's incessant talking, Simon simply ran alongside them, looking back occasionally at the creature they had left behind, which was only now recovering from the gunshots.

he nodded dumbly, not knowing what a "second impact" or an "angel" was, and then shrugged with a sigh. "Well whatever I'll accept that explanation even if I don't like it...or this little situation here on Terra." He took another hard drink before somewhat dropping his facade afterall it was damn good alcohol and not all of it got spilled on the floor or his shirt. "So from what I gather these 'angels' as you call them aren't affected by conventional forces, and these 'children' are the only ones capable of actually fighting them, quiaff? *sigh* Ok well I am going to excuse myself now, sorry for wasting your time lieutenant I'll be seeing you and these 'childeren' tommorow." He rapped off a somewhat sharper salute this time, afterall he was still a soldier dammit and if these damned inner spherites didn't know or care to use proper manners well that was there problem. "Lieutenant", with that curt farewell he was off to his assigned quarters.

What the hell have I gotten myself into?

Amber's ears picked up as soon as Guy started to speak. He had said something about others needing his help, and how this place was designed for them to find their way around. That made her a tad excited.
'If he's leaving,' The girl thought as she bit on a fingernail, 'Then does that mean someone else is going to take us on the tour? Or is one of us going to become the leader?......WAIT A SECOND. LEADER?! OmigoshifIweretheleaderthat'dbeawesome!'
She squealed, stomping her feet upon the floor enthusiastically and leaping up on the bench.
'Oh yeah~ If I were the leader I'd be cool, If I were the leader most boys will drool~ They can't compare to me~ Cause I'll be all leader....ly' She hummed, frolicing on the bench, oblivious to any stares coming from the others. She was too in adulation with the idea of becoming the leader over them.

"Yes, I am." Carter nonchalantly held his hand out, shaking the Chief's hand fearfully. Oh, he had never met him before. "Ah..neither did I, Sir. But, I didn't think I...uh, would be the one to operate it either. See, I only help out repairing them..."

[IMG]

Trish wandered around the Base, humming to herself as she searched for the Chief.
'Hmmmm. Wonder where he could be? Maybe he's- Ah! There he is! And Carter...is with him? Ahh, okay?'
Trish casted a tender-hearted beam over her face as she scurried over, calling out, "Chief Taiga! It's nice to see you again!"

Behind the blue haired boy, the raven haired girl leapt up and hung onto a small suspended walkway that hung from the ceiling itself. 'Almost as if I were some kind of normal child, time for a little monkey bars.' The girl considered dryly, swinging her feet forward and using her hands to move her forward as she listened in on two other voice's conversation.

"...if dis 'Genesis' did get stolen, it wouldn't matter anyhow. Dey'd have as much luck as we 'av at openin' da damn thing, and da boss'd 'av it stolen right back."

The girl smirked maliciously. Genesis was here.
'They won't know what hit them.' She thought, dropping down from her place in the air to almost right behind the boy.

~

"Do I need to tell you again to run?! Do you have a death wish?!"
Suddenly, a large shadow fell upon the two, causing the girl to gasp. The next thing she knew, the club of the creature swung down, causing them to fall down a hole and into a small man made tunnel. Another boy poked his head up, the other guy congratulating the boy, (Which he called Simon) for his work. Simon just nodded grimly, then told them to follow him.
"Where am I?"
The older guy muttered the name Giha Village, and she nodded.
"Oh, the pit next door! I'm from Littner Village, the pit that's right next to this one. See, I came from the surface just now, but I'm originally from Littner."

Pamela smiled mischeviously at the person who confronted her. "Well, are you here to stop me, or join me?" She asked. She sincerely hoped he was here to oppose. Destroying a city wasn't any fun without someone to stop her.

Stone Heart would have sighed if he'd had lungs. He was sick of floating in midair and wanted some action. If only Pamela would turn it back to autopilot, he would be all over these locals like Miracle Itch-Off on that old lady's feet. But he had to content himself with shorting out the lighting in the bridge. With it being in the middle of the day outside, and the entire walls and ceiling made of glass, it wasn't much of a prank, but Pamela would notice.

Stupid glorified toaster oven, Pamela thought as the lights turned off. She could still see perfectly well, but she liked having all the lights on. It made her feel less... alone. But no matter. She had to focus on the people at hand. Another Mecha was flying towards her.

Guy stared at Amber's strange actions with some interest. Whatever she was thinking, she seemed to be pretty caught up in it. She was certainly acting very different to just a moment ago.

~~

"Well from what I hear, you did a fine job for a first time."
It was then that Trish spoke, grabbing his attention suddenly.
"Oh, there you are Charday." he stated, still smiling as he always seemed to be, "I wanted to speak to you about what happened with Gimlet today."
Well, that sounded ominous.

~~~
His senses reacted, detecting somebody suddenly behind him, close enough to attack if they wanted to. He rolled forward, turning as he did so, which caused his white longcoat (which would have been significantly shorter on an adult) to splay out dramatically.
Which turned out to be exactly the wrong thing to do. The dive had brought him onto the metal balcony that surrounded the steel-gray box in the center of the next room, his boots hitting it with enough force to create a hollow, echoing noise that was anything but stealthy. There was no way it had gone unheard.
"I told you! I effing told you!" one of the men yelled, drawing the handgun that each of the pair had holstered by their waists.
But beyond that, they were unable to do anything. A huge shockwave emanated from the husk that they had refered to as Genesis, smashing their bodies against the wall with incredible force -- not enough to kill them outright, but enough that they wouldn't bother anyone again for quite some time.
Making a loud grunt of confusion, the blue-haired boy turned to see the box begin to glow in certain places, which then split from the rest of the body and formed the limbs they had always been, the forearms rotating like meatgrinders as the entire thing clambered to its feet, pilotless.
This was definitely not according to plan.
And then; another shockwave, this one bigger, with more force. It took all of the boys inhuman strength to not be slammed into the girl ahead of him, but he was still forced to the ground with ease. And the sound... the loud, screeching sound that the machine was now releasing... it was enough to make one question the reality of what was happening.
The entire massive continent shook from the power behind the shockwave, as a huge pillar of light erupted from the ground and rose into the sky, even so far as to pass the atmosphere. While nothing outside of the building was moved by it, there was no way anybody would be able to miss what was happening.
~~~

"Find the source of that tremor." came Gendo Ikari's order from his desk in NERV's CIC.
As the technical staff worked on his order, Gendo contemplated what this could mean. Two things had now happened, within the same day, that he hadn't expected at all. If his plan was to continue, he would have to be much more careful from now on...

"We've found it! The epicenter appears to be from a city called Rokkaidon. It's close enough for us to--"
"Send out Lieutenant Cruz and Sergeant Heinrich, and contact the Eva pilots; I want all hands on this operation."
"Yes sir!"

~~~
"What the hell, you're a pit-chick?! Move it thunder-thighs!" Kamina roared from behind her as they crawled through the dark tunnel towards where Simon was leading them.
While the girl yelled angrily about Kamina's sudden change in attitude, Simon fell through into the small chamber he had dug out much earlier, the one which contained the great face that he had found.
"So this is it, Simon? The thing you wanted to show me?" the older lad asked, as he too exited the small tunnel behind the girl.
The cockpit popped open suddenly, and Simon hopped into it to show the two of them what he was talking about.
"People... ride inside of it?" Kamina asked, perplexed by the whole idea.
~~~

The light rose higher than either of the two figures could see, as the female felt the shockwave beneath her feet but did not respond to it at all.
"I guess this means it's time to make our move." she said cheerily to her silver-haired companion.

"So it would seem."
A huge, humanoid figure rose behind the two of them, sillouetted by the bright glow. At this point it mattered little if it was spotted, they were already in motion towards Rokkaidon now, and towards Genesis.

Despite his half drunk state, or perhaps because of it Carlos was now in one of the (suprisingly) many gardening stores in the underground Geofront city that surrounded NERV headquarterd. At the moment he was attempting to barter five pounds of C4 plastic explosive for some soil, seeds a UV lamp, and a mini hydration system. "Come on this is good stuff! It's gurranted to blow a hole through a solid ton of reinforced armor and whatever the hell is hiding behind it. This shits a steal for what I'm wanting."

"U-uh I'm sorry sir but we only accept cash or credit." The young cashier at the counter nervously stammered, hoping that this strange man would just go away, far far away.

"Oh I see! You think this stuffs fake huh?! Ok thats understandable how about I demo some of this stuff for you? Uh....got anything I can blow up around here?"

"NO!"

"...........Does the Gardening store across the street have anything I could blow up?"

".....maybe"

Suddenly the comm device strapped to Carlos's thigh began flashing, picking the stravag piece of junk up he read the message being sent to him from NERV. "**** I gotta go. look just bag these up for me I'll be back with SEVEN pounds of C4 later quiaff?" With that the mechwarrior rushed off toward the hangar where his Skeeter was under lock and key. Meanwhile a distraught cashier down the street was wondering how she'd explain the five or so pounds of extremely explosive plastique sitting on the store counter to her manager.

Amber paused in her actions, just to catch her breath, then caught Guy's eye. 'Whoops. It happened again.'
With a large, but oh so totally fake grin and giggle, she sat down, her cheeks a dark red tint, head hung, and her hands folded palm sides up in her lap.
'Maybe it's best if I'm not the Leader,' She concluded, not looking up from her tray. 'I mean, I can't even act properly when faced with the possibility....Yeah, it's better if someone else was the leader, cause then I could be second in command.'
Yeah, that sounded paradisiacal.

[IMG]

"Thanks." Carter's cheeks flushed at the praise as he stuck his hands in his pocket. Boy, was he grateful for Trish showing up when she did.

[IMG]

Trish froze with her mouth hanging open and a finger sticking out in the air. She knew it. She just knew it.
'Damn. I knew he wanted to talk about that! Dear God help me!'

Clearing her throat, she nodded to Carter, who turned and trudged away. Next, the woman turned back to the Chief and exhaled. "Right. Um, let's discuss this in private, shall we?"

~

[IMG]
It hadn't been long after the last battle, and Rei was already being called in again? Why? Her wounds weren't getting any better over here!
Oh well, the girl shrugged it off, eventually making her way to 00. She paused at her Eva, waiting for Commander Ikari's further notifications.

~

The girl snorted, throwing back her hood and leaping up when the tremors started. "Genesis, come to me! You will be mine!" She cried, a sudden flicker of a bright blue flame burning from her eye. This was it. This was what she was trained days and nights for. This one moment.
And she would not let it pass.

~

"That's impossible!" The girl interjected, pausing to examine the machine. Suddenly, a thought hit her like a light.
"Hey, I wonder if this is a friend of the other Gunman."
The older lad ignored her, stating that he took a liking to the Gunman's face. While Simon said something about him and the other teen using the tiny Gunmen to fight the other one, the girl pondered on the idea of the two of them trying to fight it.
'Maybe I should say something about it-'
Just then, the Gunmen's eyes started to flash, the small necklace on Simon's neck illuminating with it. Simon cried out about it running, and the girl bent over to take a closer look at it.
"Are you sure?"

"I'm going to go check out--"
His words were cut off by an intense light that seemed to envelope the entire base suddenly.
By plot-contrived coincidence, GGG's orbital base was directly over Rokkaidon at this time, and thus was directly in the path of the pillar of light that had launched itself from the source of the disturbance below.
"What is that?!" Guy asked stupidly, not able to see a thing for a moment, before the light passed enough to not be blinding everyone.
"Can somebody track the source of that thing?" he quickly asked the others in the room.

~~

Kotaro nodded at Trish, directing her into his office, which they were right in front of.
"Carter, one more thing. I hope you can continue to do a good job from now on as that machine's pilot." he told him, before entering the office himself.
"So, Charday, from what I've been told, you took charge during the last operation, and approved both Final Fusion and Goldion Hammer in my absence."
This appeared to be a statement. He knew full-well that it was what happened already.
There was a long, almost awkward pause, stretched out by the fact that Kotaro was actually quite massive, to say he wasn't ever directly involved in much.
"You did a good job, exactly what I'd expect from somebody in your position. I'd like to offer you a promotion to Deputy Chief of GGG, in other words; my Second-in-Command."

~~~
Being called back to NERV already, not long after he had left? He had expected as much.
Shinji Ikari, now equiped in his medium-blue Plugsuit, which only served to further accentuate his effeminate figure, though it apparently helped in synchronising with an Eva, which explained why Ayanami had been wearing something similar when he had first seen her.
He stood beside Eva Unit 01 once more, the giant looking no less fearsome than before. Not far from him, Rei was stood beside her own Unit 00, apparently waiting for the same order he was.
I could just go and talk to her. We're both here, it wouldn't be weird, right? he was attempting to convince himself to just do it. But she was too... he wasn't quite sure too what, exactly, but she was it.
"You're both here, I see." Gendo's voice came from the overlooking balcony once more, his arms behind his back exactly as before.
"We didn't expect to have to call you back so soon, but certain events require all hands on this opperation.
This will primarily be investigation of the cause of both the tremors, and the pillar of light that have both come from a nearby city called Rokkaidon. We are sending a team out ahead of you to ensure that there are power sources for the Evas to attach to when you arrive."
He explained this all in a somewhat-quiet monotone, just as he had before. The Commander was nothing if not consistent.
"Should you be required to engage in any form of combat, Unit 01's pilot will lead, while Unit 00's offers support, because of her injuries. Is this all understood?"
[IMG]
~~
Lieutenant Cruz was not far behind the Sergeant, apparently ready to launch herself, since she was now wearing a violet-coloured light-combat armor that seemed as though it would be airtight.
"I have our orders." she told him plainly, before explaining.
"You and I are to launch ahead of the Evas and ensure that there are power sources for them to connect to while in Rokkaidon. Something has happened there, and it's our job to help them find out exactly what."
She was doing something on an arm-mounted device as she spoke, its function apparently to unlock the use of the Skeeter, since almost immediately after she finished it was lowered to a position where the Sergeant would be able to board it.
"We've been given a pair of Vanguard Overboost Units, which will allow us to be at Rokkaidon within less than a minute. We will have to eject them once we get to the operational zone."
She then turned, approaching a large, military green, egg-shaped machine, which was apparently hers. She looked back for just a moment.
"Sorry you got called out so suddenly. We'll launch as soon as you're prepared."
~~~

Enveloping himself with his magenta aura, which primarily took the form of phoenix feathers from his back, the boy prepared for what he assumed was coming - a confrontation with the newly-appeared girl.
Noticing the flaming eyepiece, he knew he was facing somebody similar to him.
"You aren't human, are you?" he asked her, assuming he knew the answer.

~~~
"Can we drive it?" Kamina asked about the mini-Gunman (that was what the girl claimed it was, right?), though he knew he wouldn't get an answer without trying it.
"Hey bro, let's use this to take out that thing up there!"
Kamina grinned darkly at the thought.
"Yeah, let's waste it."
Simon nodded excitedly; he couldn't wait to see his bro using the machine he'd found. He knew he'd be able to do it; Kamina seemed to be able to do anything!
"With this, huh?" Kamina thought aloud, thinking about just how to go about it.
"C'mon bro, go for it!"
Kamina looked pensive for a moment, before he turned up to look at Simon seriously.
"I think you should do it, Simon. You're the one who dug this thing up - that means it belongs to you. You think the great Kamina could steal from his brother? What kind of person do you think you're dealing with?"
A look of terror struck Simon's face as he was asked it.
"B-but I can't do this!" he said, his fear obvious in his voice.
"You dumbass! Kick logic out, and do the impossible! Remember that; that's the way Team Gurren rolls!"
Still afraid, but slightly less so, Simon objected again, but was cut off by the area around them shaking once more.
Outside, the Gunman was berserking against every surface, trying to smash everything it could find, and most of the things it couldn't. It was only a matter of time before it broke through and got them too.
"Just do it! Go on, I know you can do it buddy!"
"But I don't!"
"Listen Simon, don't believe in yourself. Believe in me! Believe in the Kamina who believes in you!"
...
"...right, I'll try." Simon declared, equiping his goggles properly.
He gripped carefully onto the controls as the two beside him hopped onto the side of the tiny machine, causing the small spiral in the centre of the dashboard to flash bright green repeatedly...
...as did the small drill he had found earlier. Was it some kind of key? Unsure, he plugged the drillbit into the machine and twisted it...
Instantly the machine rose into the air, blasting some kind of energy from its mouth and limbs. Yes, it had limbs now - tiny ones that had apparently been hidden around the back of it before now. The legs were short and stubby, but surprisingly agile, while the arms were slightly oversized, with strong-looking hands at the end.
"It's working!" Simon yelled over the noise it was making in a mixture of fear, excitement, and plain surprise.
And then it set off: blasting straight through the layers of rock and launching itself underneath the Gunman's legs, which stood looking quite surprised that such a thing existed.
"Hey, you did it Simon!"
"Yeah, I guess I did!"
"Come on, let's rock!"
As the machine stopped in front of the Gunman's face, Kamina rose up and yelled once more into the creature's face.
"Haha! You weren't expected this, you S-O-B! Even if Heaven itself tolerates your brutality, the mighty Lagann does not!"
"Tch, No need to apologize lieutenant, I was starting to get bored bartering anyways." He keyed n the access code that popped open the five ton armored hatch that protected the battlemech's cockpit, before leaping in he shouted out to Cruz, "Good huntinng out there Lieutenant!" The start up process was second nature by now, press this button, pull down on the auxillary throttle like so, start up the coolant flow, and voila the artificial sun that powered the Skeeter began to pump energy through the mech's circuitry and the myomer bundles that served as the Skeeter's "muscles". The machine gracefully, well as graceful as a 35 ton machine could manage, rose to its feet and strided over to the launch port. Behind the "small" mech a gigantic set of thrusters latched itself to the Skeeter.
A self powered high trust propulsion unit...not bad inner spherites. "Sergeant Von Heinrich in the Skeeter launching!" Wih a force that practcally shoved 10 Gs of force into its pilots gut the Skeeter roared out of the bay, and was rocketing straight for Rokkaidon.
He seems to know what he's doing with that thing, at least. Marida thought to herself, before boarding the egg-shaped machine.
Strapping herself in and activating the controls, she prepared herself to follow the Sergeant, not bothering to wear the helmet to her combat uniform, since the mission was within atmosphere.
"Lieutenant Marida Cruz, Kshatriya," she called, as the machine was moved into a horizontal axis and equipped with its VOB unit.
"...launching!"
The quad engines of the Vanguard Overboost Unit fired, launching from zero to somewhere in the thousands of KMpH. The G-force was easy for her to handle - the Kshatriya was built for just that, even in its egg-like configuration.
Being the more streamlined of the two machines, Kshatriya was accelerating marginally faster than the Skeeter, though since Carlos had launched first he would still likely reach the objective first. But this was no race; even if the Skeeter reached Rokkaidon first, that would simply mean that they could begin their job that much sooner.
~~
"Two units approaching the city, want to take them down quickly?" the white-outfitted girl spoke suddenly, looking at her male companion with what could only be described as an evil smile.
Without even glancing in her direction, the boy nodded.
"I'm sure you can handle them. You know why I am here." he said, his voice seeming to float through the air with each word his lips formed.
Giving a short chuckle in amusement, the girl leapt off of the shoulder of the giant they stood upon, as a small mechanical device expanded from her back, forming metal wings which caught her in mid-air.
Over her right eye, a magenta-coloured flame ignited, her irises seemingly lighting up similtaneously.
"Come down and join the game~!" she called, as the wings turned themselves to face forward, firing a small beam from each of the points, which all converged just ahead of her.
In mere moments, a massive superlaser shot had been fired from the girl, launched directly towards the closest of the two units closing in.
"The hell?!" A massive stream of heat and light shot out towards the Skeeter, his left hand moved on its own its movements honed from years of combat as it jerked down hard on the waldo style joystick latched to his pilot's seat causing the booster equipped Skeeter to juke hard to the left just barely evading the beam. **** the readings from his Skeeter confirmed that the blast was easily on par with the sort of firepower that one would expect to find on a battleship. The fact that he couldn't immediately make out whatever the hell fired that beam was starting to freak him out, how the hell did they manage to fit that much firepower onto something so small?! His thoughts were interrupted when the thrusters on the right side of his VOB unit spontaneously exploded. Apparently even without a direct hit the energy that came off of that blast was more than enough to fry the powerful but delicate machinery of this "VOB".
He couldn't do anything in the air, so he might as well hoof it....but before that he switched on the beagle active probe, a device that was specifically designed to locate hidden enemies. A flurry of radar, sonar, and ECM waves shout out of the rapidly falling packhunter eventually locating the hidden shooter. "Lieutenant we got company. I'm not any good in the air any more they got my VOB unit. I'm sending you the coordinates of the enemy so do something about that *******. I'll make my way to the rendevous point on the ground.....good luck"
Before he crashed at the outskirts of the city he decided to give his mysterious attacker a gift, feeding the cords of the new enemy to the VOB unit he detatched it and sent its flaming carcass flying straight for the winged B*tch.
"Understood, I'm on it." the Lieutenant stated, flying past the now-grounded Skeeter in mere moments at her current speed.
~~
"Aw, I missed it." she whined aloud, before reverting the wings to their original state.
"Looks like we're going to be fighting up-close now, hm~?"
Suddenly she noticed the booster system still heading towards her. It was too late for her to do anything about it; it was mere meters away...
She was suddenly shielded by the great silver hand of her companion's ride, its red eyes almost blazing in its head as it grabbed ahold of the unit and redirected it above them both, though not without taking a fair amount of damage from the initial impact of the improvised weapon.
"If you don't look after yourself more, you may just end up being overshadowed, White." he warned, apparently not too concerned that most of the armour on the hand of his machine had been destroyed.
'White' just grinned in thanks, before preparing to meet the second unit head-on in combat.
"You just worry about yourself, Nagisa. There's others in this city, remember?"
~~
"HQ, this is Cruz." the lieutenant stated into her comm system.
"Heinrich is grounded, but still operational, and we have engaged an enemy - at least two hostline units."
Just before the very edge of the city, the V.O.B. unit detached, splitting apart into what appeared to be hundreds of pieces, and scattering into the desert that surrounded the city. It was then that the Kshatriya revealed its true form, opening the four wings that shielded its person and firing a quick burst of jets from each to slow itself as it approached the enemy units... the larger of which was now very clear in her monitors.
"Control, we have an Evangelion in the field! Repeat; The enemy has an Eva!"
Her message was broadcasted to both NERV HQ, and Carlos in his Skeeter, ensuring that all involved were aware of the danger that had suddenly come to light.
"You stay clear!" the white-clothed aggressor roared, firing a large cannon that had seemed to materialize on her hand at the oncoming Mobile Suit, the shot quickly splitting off into multiple smaller projectiles that seemed to home in their target.
The Kshatriya just barely dodged them the first time around, firing all thrusters together to deliver her own improvised overboost, but the shots swerved around, arcing back towards her with dangerous precision.
But she could be dangerous too.
"Funnels; launch!" she called, as no less than twenty-four drone machine split off from the quad-wing configuration of the Kshatriya, firing their own loud shots in order to intercept the enemies.
The battle of Rokkaidon had begun.
The packhunter stumbled back to its feet somewhere near the outskirts of Rokkaidon. It took him a while, seeing how fast his new enemy was, but Carlos managed to get it in his sights thanks to the Skeeter's Beagle probe. With its wings and the occasional violet colored flame that licked down its body Carlos could have sworn he was looking at a fairy, though he was not sure how many myths featured fairies with the power to wipe out an army. As much as he wanted to get off a couple of potshots at the "fairy" with his PPC the mechwarrior decided that discretion would be the better part of valor for now. Activating the mech's ECM system to shield him from being detected by this foe he urged Skeeter deeper into the city.
The Skeeter was silently recording the dogfight that was going on overhead focusing its attention on the "fairy". Analyzings the fairy's parameters and abilities nearly burnt out the Skeeter's onboard computer, and from the readings Carlos wasn't surprised whatever it was it was FAST and could hit like a nuclear bomb if it wanted to. He sent this data to NERV HQ hoping that Ikari's techs were competent enough to put it to good use, a few suggestions on how Cruz and him could beat this thing would be a good start. In the meantime he would let someone else take the spotlight for now, while he went off to find the perfect location from which to snipe at the fairy. Hang in there lieutenant.
Pamela looked around at the city as war broke out. What on earth had she flown into? This was no peaceful city she could easily intimidate. It looked more like her home city, in the middle of the revolution. She looked at all the battling Mechas. Which ones were rebels and which ones were from the government? She decided to side with the rebels, at least for a little while. If they didn't trust her, so be it. She could always go back to destroying the city. For now, she drove Stone Heart around the edge of the fight, so she could ascertain who was who. While she went, she kept up appearences and crashed through a few buildings, just because she could. Besides, if Stone Heart knew that she was siding with the rebels, he would get mad and start glitching like crazy. He was very touchy about her, and didn't want her to be a part of any sort of alliance, he was content with just the two of them. Any other way would tick him off.
As Ren, Allen, Akira and Zhane sat down with their food and started to eat, they all gave the same confused and shocked expression. Even though Akira and Zhane were actually sitting as the same table. "Guess it's showtime." Ren said to himself
~~
Before Ichiro could give Pamela her answer, he was distracted by the battle on the outskirts of the city. First he ran into Pamela and now a friggin war had broken out. If the day wasn't bad enough. Oh well, at least thing were getting interesting. "Alright Exia, let's do this!" Activating the thrusters, Exia flew off towards the battle.
Kouji simply saw a light before bolting awake from the bowl his head was in and looked around before jumping onto the table. He then proceded to grab his helmet which was nearby and ran accross the tbale and out into the hall and proceded towards the hangar to get to the Pileder. After a few moments of getting there he quickly jumped into the Pileder, fastened his helmet, and started the engine causing the machine to rise to life as it blasted into the air heading towards the head of Mazinger Z as Kouji yelled aloud "PILDER ON!!!!!!!" before the wings on the sides of the Pileder folded up and the whole thing slammed into the slot on the head causing the yellow eyes to appear brightly on the face. Kouji then looked around the hangar for a way to get down to Earth before spotting a drop-pod looking thing. Mazinger then started towards the pod in an attempt to jump in one and get to Earth
Domon on the other hand saw the ensuing battle and simply had one thought on his mind "Fight......Fight Everyone" shortly before Shining Gundam pulled out a beam sword and flew off heading towards Eva 04 with one sole intention as he readied to strike at it with the sword. "SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!!!!!" Domon yelled as he swung at the Eva
"Gah!" Amber shot up, then bounded over her table. "Uh, Mr. Guy! Where is my Mecha?! I think she can track that thing for you!" Ignoring any answer, she dashed out of the Cafe. "Blue! Where are ya, bud?" She called, glimpsing around the base as she ran. Suddenly, the girl stopped in her tracks, letting loose a long, high pitched whistle.
Blue's head moved upward as her Communication systems picked up a whistle. Amber. Amber! She was in trouble!
"I'm coming Keeko!" The Mecha then extended her wings, taking flight as she searched for her pilot.
"Blue! Over here!" Amber yelled, waving her right arm in the air. She had heard the hum of her wings, which meant the Mecha was flying. Yes!
Just then, the girl jumped up, feeling a sharp pain in her back. Glancing behind her, she saw that Blue had caught her and grinned.
"Showtime!"
[IMG]
"I will." Carter saluted to his Chief; jogging back to the cafe to check on the new pilots. 'Hmm. I wonder what that light was. I really hope it wasn't-'
"Heeeeey! Look out!"
"What the-," Carter peeked behind him, his eyes going wide. "Oh cr-Ooooouuucch!"
The boy blinked rapidly, his legs on fire as a blue and white mecha carried him and a girl with blazing red hair.
"Gah! Who the hell are you?!" She cried, her eyes scrutinizing his bewildered expression. Abruptly, she turned her attention to in front of them, then grit her teeth. "Hold on to that thought. Blue! Can you fit two people inside of you?"
"Do I look that big enough to you?!"
"I'll take that as a yes!" The girl flattened her hand out, pressing the Mecha's head with her palm. The body of the Bot opened up, and the girl clutched Carter's shirt collar, squishing him and herself inside. Carter immediately tried to stretch out, but the girl's foot swiftly connected with his face. "Don't move!"
The body then closed itself back up, the girl taking the Controls as she straightened up in the tight space. "Alright, whoever-you-are, hang on! You're going for a ride!"
[IMG]
'Oh!' Trish's anxious expression turned blank, then morphed into a massive smile as she bowed formally. "I....I would be honored to be Deputy Chief!"
"Understood." Rei bowed her head in apprehension, then glanced over at Commander Ikari's son. He wasn't that bad...
"Hmm. Good luck." She whispered as she turned back to 00, readying herself to enter the Plug.
~
Seconds later, Rei sat in her entry plug, waiting for the LCL to pour in. "Alright. I'm ready."
"Flooding Entry Plug."
The Orange liquid began to fill her Plug, submerging her in mere seconds. As soon as it came to a stop, Rei let out a breath, then clutched the controls a little bit tighter. It was time. Again.
~
The girl calmly regarded the boy, summoning a long Katana with a silver blade and black handle out of thin air. "I am not human." She smirked, crouching down and thrusting her blade into Genesis' head. "I'm just a Thief."
She then sliced the head open, falling in to the cockpit. So what if They didn't want this Robot to be damaged? It was, in fact, the only way to get in the thing.
~
The girl (who had been riding the Gunman on Simon's left this whole time) sat up and glared at Kamina. "What is Lagann?" She demanded.
The lad pet the Gunman, saying that it was its new name.
The girl opened her mouth to say something, but heard the younger boy whimper. She glanced up, just in time for her to see the Gunman to slam its club down near them, causing "Lagann's" legs to eject springs out of them and send them upward.
Akira gave Zhane another look as Amber left the Cafe. "So, what do we do now?"
~~
"Follow me." He replied as he led Akira out of the Cafe and in the direction of the Archangel. On the way there, Zhane took out his phone and sent his brother a message.
~~
Once Shane had gotten the message from his brother, he turned on the intercom of the Archangel. "Attention all staff, Prep the Launcher Strike and Sword Silhouette for combat." With the order given, all he had to do now was wait.
"Hey, hold on a sec--" Guy began, too late. The girl, Amber, had already shot off to find her partner, and the Brave was sure they should all do the same. He looked around, seeing that most, if not all, of the others had thought the same and had set off.
"Alright, let's get to this then." he said to himself. "Chief, sorry but there's no time to ask for authorization with this. Looks like we're all heading out."
He set of at a run, which approached speeds on a ridiculous scale almost instantly; he was at least the speed of a freight train from his first few steps.
It took him almost no time at all to get to the hangar, where PhantomGao awaited.
He tapped a command console lightly, not anywhere near the controls, and leapt towards the already-open cockpit of PhantomGao as the hangar bay doors began to open. The forcefield left behind would ensure there was no decompression within the base, but anything that registered as non-organic would be able to pass through it. This was a safety measure put in to ensure that nobody would accidently fall through it without any protection from the vacuum outside.
"PhantomGao heading out!" he called, his voice amplified by the machine he sat within, before it launched itself through the forcefield window at incredible speed.
He knew that Trish and Chief Taiga would be informed by their tags that PhantomGao had taken off.
~~
"I'm glad to hear it." Kotaro beamed, happy that she hadn't refused the promotion.
"There's very little formality to it, nothing more than a signing from each of --" he was cut off by the necklace-like tag he wore flashing slowly; an action it only did when PhantomGao had launched without standard authorisation.
"Guy's left the station. There must be something happening." he stated, fairly obviously. "The formalities can wait; are you ready to get to work, Deputy Chief?"
~~~

"Y-yeah. You too!" Shinji managed back, barely, before climbing into his own Entry Plug and waiting.
In less than a minute, he and Ayanami had been prepared, and were being moved, once again, to a lift system; this one leading to the outskirts of Tokyo-3. From there, they were expected to travel to Rokkaidon, which at running speed should take just less than two minutes, whereupon they would be reconnecting to the external power, if all had gone to plan.
The lifts began, taking them up to surface-level, where they got into position for running straight ahead to Rokkaidon City.

"This is control, we've just been informed by Lieutenant Cruz that they've engaged hostile units, one of which appears to be another Evangelion." a voice quickly told them.
"Now, there's two of you, which give you both the advantage, but don't underestimate it just because you outnumber it. We don't know who the pilot is, or their motive, and that makes them exceptionally dangerous. Are you sure you're both ready?"

~~~
[IMG]
"Damn it!" the boy called as the black-clad girl leapt to the top of Genesis and cleaved its head open.
In an instant, the mecha was flailing around angrily, seemingly trying to get this unwanted humanoid out of itself, and into a position where it could flail in its general direction. After a brief moment, it stopped, seemingly accepting this fate... before its engines kicked in, launching it upwards, straight through the ceiling, and back up to the surface.
The boy flew upwards after Genesis and it's 'pilot', knowing that whatever happened he couldn't let it escape him.
~~
The shots were taken out by Marida's funnels, but the girl herself was proving impossible to hit. Her lack of a Mobile Suit, or any other kind of vehicle other than her wings, made her a small target, and combining that with her sheer speed, nothing was working.
"Is this all that the enemy has to offer?" she complained between dodged funnel shots.
"Black, whatever you're doing, could you make it quick please? This whole thing is really boring." she announced to her sister over some kind of communicator, completely ignoring the fact that the Kshatriya was closing in on her, beam sabers in hand.
"Stop jumping around!" the lieutenant yelled, hurling her sabers down in an arc at the girl... who yet again casually dodged as though it was all meaningless to her.
"Heinrich, the girl's too fast for me to hit, the Kshatriya can't get her alone." she informed the Sergeant, hoping that the communication was getting through.
It was then, by simple chance, she saw it. The machine that the hostile Evangelion was being attacked by. Its white body, red highlights, gold V-fin, smaller than most, but unmistakable a Gundam.
Her vision went red. She forgot the girl entirely, and launched at full speed towards the Gundam that had thrown itself at the silver Eva.
"Ah, it looks like this could get interesting." the boy who stood upon Eva 04's shoulder mused, begining to climb up to the Entry Plug as the military-green Quad-Wing approached.
"I guess I should get ready."
He completely ignored the Neo-Japan fighter's attack, which impacted the AT Field that his Eva was generating without damaging it.
"He'll be here soon, after all."
~~~

"Simon why are you dodging? Quit running!" Kamina yelled over the commotion, as Lagann continued to bounce around the area in desperation.
"But it's gonna kill us!" the boy argued futiley, as the older lad countered;
"A real man would rather die than run!"

At that moment, the Gunman finally got a luck hit on the little Lagann, smashing it in the face and knocking Kamina and the girl from their perches on its shoulders. As the girl cried loudly in panic that they had landed on top of its head, the giant being grabbed at them vainly, trying to remove the pests.
It was failing spectacularly.

It took a moment for him to regain his senses, but Lagann was soon running down the bigger machine's weapon awkwardly on its stubby little legs.
"Gotta make the... impossible possible..." the small boy gulped, "That's how... Team Gurren rolls. I'm coming bro!"
He launched himself at the Gunman's hand, headbutting it away from the first well-aimed grab the creature would have gotten, leaving the boy exhausted from his own realization of what he had just done.

"Simon! Pretty smooth man!" Kamina congratulated him, suddenly back in his position on the mech's shoulder as the red-haired girl patted its face fearfully, almost begging for him to make it jump.
Suddenly, the canopy of the machine closed, cramming the three of them into the one-man cockpit in but an instant; just in time to deflect one of the Gunman's blows into its own head, knocking it over stupidly as the Lagann went flying again.
"Hey... nice work with the canopy Simon..." Kamina said, crushed against the boy's face with his feet jammed somewhere on the girl's person.
"It's a little bit cramped though." she complained, equally as crushed against the youngest of the three.
Suddenly the Gunman lurched up, grabbing ahold of the 'Mighty Lagann' in its mouth and biting down hard, trying to crush it.
As the two seemingly older figures grunted about how cramped it was, Simon reached for the drill inserted in the dashboard, his teeth gritted.

"Need more... power...!" he managed, twisting the necklace further, filling up the entire gauge it was the centepiece of.
Suddenly something tore through the teeth, releasing Lagann instantly. Looking forward through the somehow-transparent canopy, the three of them noticed exactly what it was.

"A drill?" Kamina noted, as impressed as the others. And sure enough; it was a drill, which had erupted from the forehead of Lagann when Simon apparently needed it to.
"That you're kind of weapon, Simon! It's a perfect match!"

OOC note:

Lagann landed gracefully for once, arms poised outwards at its sides in fists, showing the pilot's newfound determination.
"Bro, I think I can do the job with this!"

"Alright! Smash us into that big ugly mug! Let it feel the power of Team Gurren's mighty drill!"
Nodding once, Simon gripped the controls tightly, a burst of green aura being released from the small machine as he roared wordlessly at the enemy, which revealed two more drills in the arms, replacing its hands.
"Get going Simon; bust through the heavens with your drill!"
The club of the Gunman swung down, but was met instantly with the central drill of Lagann, which was rotating fast enough to tear it to shread in mere seconds as the little machine launched itself upwards through it. Ripping past the huge face's arm, it slammed into the bottom of it and, ignoring all realistic expectations of the match-up, began forcing it upwards, towards the roof -- nay, towards the surface!
Simon and Kamina roaring in total unison was the only thing heard, their combined spirit being the driving force behind drill and engine, their power causing a major whirlwind to be whipped up in their wake as they continued; racing higher and higher with the enemy jammed on top of them. The citizens of Jiha could only stand and stare in awe as it happened before them; as the strange boy who just dug holes, the village crazy, and a complete stranger, all rose up beyond what was their entire world; up and out of Jiha, and into the real world that was out there.

"Adios Jiha village! We're going up to the surface!" Kamina said, grinning widely with satisfaction, no longer noticing the crampedness of the cockpit, "The surface I saw as a kid!"
They tore through, breaching the surface and, a few seconds later, tearing the Gunman they carried into pieces, leaving nothing but an explosion in their wake as they kept going, up and up, high into the air, beyond either of the two boy's imaginations could picture. The drills, canopy, and even the raggedy cloak that Simon was wearing, disappeared, the cloak simply caught in the wind that was so prominent up here in the sky, whereas the other two just seemed to vanish inside the machine improbably. They looked around finally as Lagann slowed, seeing everything around them.
It was incredible... the surface. Full of colour, protected by clouds and sky, and nothing above them but more sky.

"Wow... this is the surface?" Kamina gasped, sounding calmer now than he ever had in the - what? Fifteen minutes? - that the girl had known him for.
"Ah...! It's so beautiful...!" Simon said, his eyes almost tearing up from the visions he saw; of the sunset-red sky, the clouds, and everything around him.

OOC note: Woo, long post, but it's finally out of the way. As thanks for putting up with these long posts... a sneak peek at who the two in-combat villains are!

Taking Guy's leaving as a signal, Ren soon left and headed towards his gundam. Granted it wasn't as fast as Guy, he made it to the hangar where he quickly got in the cockpit. "Wing Zero Custom, Ren Launching!" As the thruster for the Wing Zero took off, anyone behind would have saw the faint feather shaped lights it left behind.

~~

Allen soon followed behind Ren towards the hangar and hopped into the GX. "Gundam X, Heading out!" With that, the GX followed behind Wing Zero's light feathers.

~~

By the time Akira had reached the Archangel, he found that his Impulse was different then the last time he saw it. "What the hack am I supposed to do?" He turned to look at Zhane.

~~

"Just hop in your core splendor and for up your gundam." Zhane replied before getting into the Launcher Strike and taking off.

~~

Assuming that the core splendor was the plane like thing, he got in it and activated it. "Core Splendor, Akira Launching!" Activating the thrusters, he followed behind Zhane.

OOC: To save time here's the sword impulse forming.
