I think that all of the mysteries in Birth By Sleep are connected to Sunset Horizons. It is obviously not a normal world, as its denizens have yet to be seen, if there are any. also, as many fans have noticed, it strongly resembles the crossroads Sora comes to in CoM before entering Castle Oblivion. My personal theory is that Sunset Horizons is the real world, while all the other 'worlds' are merely parts of this place. I believe this because the characters in BBS (and several of the regular characters) repeatedly refer to "the world" instead of "the worlds" or "the galaxy" or something of the sort. The Ansem Reports (the original ones, written by Xehanort) also speak in this manner. I believe that once we know what Sunset Horizons actually is, we will have many, if not most, of our questions answered. well, what does everybody think?

Well, you can definitly go there in BBS. Also, in the trailer, you can see young Sora and Riku fighting on Sunset Horizons so maybe there is a connection. I could be talking about the wrong place. If I am, let me know.

In the original Ansem reports, I thought he was saying "world" rather than "worlds" because he wasn't aware that there were others before Mickey showed up. If so, then he was only referring to Hollow Bastion.

Well I doubt its the one "true" world but I think its equally as important. But we see that "crossroads" seen a lot...maybe its a world people go to when they aren't sure of something? I know it sounds stupid, but Sora appeared there at one point and in front of castle oblivion...maybe this is before castle oblivion? I dont know...

I don't think it's a world, so much as a part of one.

I don't agree. The easiest way to answer this is that; in the KH games, you travel around "space" in the Gummi Ship to different "worlds". The only way these "worlds" are connected are by those paths/lines/whatever the hell you wish to call them. If this "Sunset Horizons" was one world, wouldn't we be able to tell that from the overworld/galaxy?

Maybe not, because it might be in another "Galaxy",like Wonderland,Neverland and some other worlds from KH1 that we didn't see.

Are you trying to say that the worlds we see in BBS are all part of Sunset Horizons because of the galaxy difference?

    Not exactly.
I actually think of it has another strange place that isn't a world like the cross roads that connect the three realms, but in another "galaxy" or something, and that leads to the "galaxy" we know and maybe the realm of Nothing.

So, it is like a "bridge" between the galaxy we know and the Realm of Nothing, even though it is a Galaxy itself?

    Realm of Nothing
    I
    I
    I
    Sunset Horizons
    I
    I
    I
    Galaxy We Know

Is that a proper diagram? What about the darkness?

Exactly like i think, then the rest is like this:

    Galaxy we know
    I
    I
    I
    Crossroads
    I
    I
    I
    Dark Realm
    I
    I
    I
Some other place we don't now
    I
    I
    I
    Realm of Nothing

That's just a ramdom guess, but i actually think it is like this, the middle of the "Universe" is light, darkness is the edge of the "universe" ,in-between in the middle of light and darkness, and the rest is the realm of nothing.

I had absolutely no idea that my idea made this much sense. But it does explain how MX seems to bend that world to his will. I mean, we've almost never seen him so much as draw his keyblade anywhere else. If you think about it, no one has ever gotten to Kingdom Hearts from an actual world before, it's always some sort of dark realm or something like that. perhaps being in a place that has a heart draws your efforts away from Kingdom Hearts, and into the heart of the world? I don't really know, we're all just guessing at this point.

Interesting. Darkness being on the edge is quite possible, seeing as the first darkness in an individual's heart was supposedly in the corners of the "universe", where Darkness could manifest.

I believe it first appeared after the Secret Ending was seen. Possibly before that.

Sunset Horizons is the KHII secret ending. You have to unlock it.
It's the scene with the three (then referred to as) chasers, whom we now know as Aqua, Ven, and Terra, in the Keyblade "crossroads". It's only like a minute and a half long.
Though Sunset Horizons may actually be a place in the game, since the whole KHIIFM+ secret ending battle seemed to take place there and then Mickey appears. *shrug*

I thought it had something to do with Twilight Town. Maybe thats the place we don't know. It's where the link between the Dark Realm.

actually i think tht Sunset Horizon is more or less the "center of the universe" and i also think that the Crossroads is Sunset Horizon, but some event in the past makes it become grassy and peaceful

and the four paths lead to the four "doors" or "realms"

each "realm" make up certain worlds that are more related to the "engery" it use (example Twilight Town would be related to the engery of Twilight)

    The Realm of Light(Mid Day)
    I
    I
    I
    I
The Realm of Kingdom Hearts(Dawn)------Crossroads(Sunset Horizon)-----The Realm of Twilight(twilight "dusk, sunset")
    I
    I
    I
    I
    The Realm of Darkness(night)

the chart is read clock wise, it also follows the phases of the day, starting at dawn ending at night.

following the chart you can see why Rikus keyblade is called the "way to the dawn" because he is close to the dawn (kairis power, because she is a priness of heart and thus he "rules" "protects" over kingdom hearts
and that is also why soras protects the DtL)

back to the main topic ( :P )

i think that the Universe that we all know is around this chart, each world that is closer to a certain Door, is more like that Door (again with the Twilight town Door to twilight thing)

the crossroads are more or less the center of everything thus everything is connected to it, i truely believe we will see the crossroads more and more

(note: if you remeber at the end of KH1 after the Door of Kingdom hearts disappered there was a small walkway behind it i think thats how SDG got to the Crossroads and Marluxia made them go onto the path that lead to the realm of twilight (the world were Castle Oblivion is more associated with twilight) )

I think this really makes sense. It's like the universe is constantly going through a cycle, like night and day, and Sunset Horizons, like the sun, is making it all happen. What I think BBS needs to explain, though, is how. Sunset Horizons is, sadly, the least impressive world we've seen thus far.

P.S. Noise, your family misses you.

What if Sunset Horizons is the Crossroads ten years back?
