This movie a so confusing. It's a great movie....BUT SO CONFUSING!!

We apologize for the slight mental breakdown that may occur in this thread. Please continue reading at your own discretion

So I'm not sure how to explain this movie. I mean, which parts of it where the fantasy, and which parts weren't? Did they really do the things they said, and who was who? I'm so confused. This movie is making my brain explode...agh!! I can't take it anymore!!

It reminded me of "Pan' s labyrinth" : replace the fairy tale delirium with geek drug trips, the Spanish village with an asylum brothel, and there you have it.

Sucker Punch is underrated. For me, it wasn't dull or boring, it was Inception with girls and even more confusion. BEST. MOVIE. EVAR. The acting wasn't that bad, and even if the script sucked, the visual flair and the action made up for it. It was like a video game - fun and exciting.

Sometimes you just have to think with your heart than your head- oh dear Agito lord, what the hell is going on with me?

    I liked the film.

That pretty much sums it up. Although, just seeing the whole action scenes when she's actually dancing is so strange. It makes you wonder what kind of dancing she's actually doing

Saw it and enjoyed it. Reminded me of a videogame really, and i can't see how the storyline was so confusing. I mean, it was an escape story, not much confusing about that. Sure they could've made what was going on more obvious but it's not THAT difficult to follow.

The story was easy, but the way they did everything was strange. I mean, first you're seeing a mental institute, and then you're in some kind of club, but at the end you're back to where you started at the dance club or whatever and find out that what you thought didn't happen actually happened and all that? It's so weird

    I didn't like it :(
The story and script was very odd. My friend pointed out there are some plot holes in the movie too but I dont feel like watching it again. However, the visual effects are amazing even with the dragon (way better then the God awful movie AVATAR). I did notice some fan-service (look it up if you never watched anime before) which is unnecessary but then again its a movie with girls and weapons so Im guessing its targeted at guys.
(Im a guy and I am 1 of a small number of guys who didn't enjoy it)

I watched it and...Well, I had heard it was going to be absolutely awful before I saw it in theaters. But my friend and I went to go see it anyway. It wasn't as terrible as everyone seemed to think it was, IMO. It was dramatic and the storyline could have used some work, but it wasn't the worst thing I had ever seen.

I think it was trying to be better than it actually was. It was just...strange, overall. Not amazing, not terrible, to me.

One of our friends actually asked if I watched it, and when I replied, she thought told me that she thought it was terrible. Like it was rediculous and there was no point to it. I beg to differ. It's much better than just watching a normal movie about a girl who wants to get out of an insane asylum.

I don't think it's actually a mental asylum for girls. It's a whorehouse. The girls are turned into whores while at the supposed asylum. That's what I think anyway. I actually liked the movie. I saw it in theaters when it first came out and again when it was out on DVD already. At first, I did not like it at all for the whole fan service they give you. To me, it was obviously directed towards men and I ended up leaving the theater to go to the bathroom. << But, the moral of the movie I actually liked. The moral of all of it is what makes me want to watch the movie again. If it didn't have the moral it gave, I probably wouldn't have liked it. So to me, that's what made the movie good enough to watch. Since when it ended, I did get a bit emotional. >>

    Either way, I enjoyed it.

well, it was a mental institute, but that's why it's so confusing. They end up changing to scene to something else, and at the end you find out that it actually was still taking place in a mental institute

The story really was confusing but from what i saw this is the story
The story is not actually being told from the point of view of baby but actually sweet pea. Sweet pea sees this new girl that comes into the asylum as a hero for all the things she did. imo the asylum was real and the club and Adventures were the way sweet pea saw them a.k.a imaginary. Cause the things baby did actually happend like stealing that stuff. It also suggest from the club world that maybe sweet peas past is like that. which is why shes in the asylum
Thats my opinion and either way this was a great movie! I like how you had to really watch it to keep up :)

Ah, I actually saw this recently so it's still fresh in my mind!

    What I believe happened:

I believe that the "Club" events were made by Baby Doll all along, not Sweet Pea. She was the one sent onto the chair in the beginning, and seen at the end. The girls who Baby Doll met, Rocket, Sweet Pea, and the others were also real. She just made up the "imaginary world" to fill in the looming danger of her final day being "alive" The list presented to Baby Doll in the beginning was real also, she knew how to get out. And I also believe that Sweet Pea wasn't crazy, she just went after Rocket and made it seem she was.

Baby Doll knew she couldn't leave, so she let Sweet Pea escape. The deaths of Rocket and the other girls did happen in the asylum though. As shown with the missing knife (she did stab the orderly, but I believe that Rocket was still stabbed but it was kept hush hush.) and the two others were killed by said orderly when they were put in that room where we find Baby Doll at the end of the film.

I also like to believe that those events in the imaginary world did happen...
