well i've been thinking why isn't there a subsection for the spam zone games ..
there where many awesome games that has been lost in the thousands of pages of spam ..

if we make a subsection for those games then people won't go through the trouble of looking up all those pages ,most of you will say just subscribe to them..but what about the new people here ...they deserve to know about there existence right ?

the spam zone will be more organized that way ...don't you think ?

There aren't enough games for it to have it's own section. It'll just become confusin' n' folk will post it in the main spam section anyway.

The spam zone is.....spam. The whole place was made as a playground so everyone can play their games there. If a game isnt popular, then it'll fall back into darkness. If its popular, it'll stay at the top. I dont really see a need for a subsection for games since thats what the spamzone itself is for in the first place.

Ironically this is something that we have been discussing recently actually xD

I actually think it is a good idea, for one thing it avoids the repetition and remake of threads and also makes them easier to locate.

For sure spam is spam but spam is such a general title. I think a sub section for forum games is a good idea.

You could just have a sticky that links 'em all. (Stickies are my answer to everythin')

I don't think that a sticky post on the games is the right thing to do. I'd agree with CtR that maybe just making the games go to a sub-forum would be easier and if they become unpopular they'd fall back on their own. If remakes happen, someone can just ask for the former thread to be closed or it would be so that the new game of the same type can go on to see if there are different results.

I think len's suggestion is a good idea and there do seem to be enough games to warrant it.

I don't like that idea, for one thing we have one hell of a lot of stickies as it is, for another new forum games are made all the time, keeping on top of it would be an additional workload that isn't needed. Added to that is the fact that even if we did have a sticky it would sometimes mean having to go through pages of threads to be able to locate the games that get lost, for example, during fad nights xD

On fad nights sometimes there are like 20+ threads made, a lot of threads can get lost. I don't like the idea of a sticky for this.

Having had to go through a lot of stuff and stickying this way... I'm going to say no and it's a waste of time and more productive to both staff and the members to just have a sub-section in Spam Zone for them. This gives the members more of an ability to browse for games they want and it'll be an area of just the games so they can enjoy that more. Also, it's a pain in the butt to go through back pages when we can just make everyone happy and move the games once.

I think it works...a little while back I made a hangman game, only it was at an early time so it was killed off by that afternoon. I think a spamzone subsection for games would be fun, because people would stop repeating games and games other people make will be there without going away. Still there are a lot of spamzone games...and because it is spam, whats going to stop people from spamming there if they wont make games themselves...?

Technically they wouldnt be wrong. Other than that issue, I see no problem.

... Too many stickies... Why doesn't someone combine and organize the stickies into one sticky... Then it'd be neater to add newer stickies.

    I agree.

We would need to decide what a 'game' is. As stupid as that comment sounds, it has merit. Is the 'how famous are you on KHvids' thread a game? What about question time?

If there's a particular game thread you like, I'd advice to subscribe to it if anything. Though I honestly don't see what would be wrong with a remake of a game that is too old to get bumped. ( necrobumps ftl ) Tons of same threads already in spamzone, the thread content rule is different here than in most of our sections. I agree with cronoking regarding the definition of spamzone overall, that whole place is a playground - it'd be like having a playground inside a playground if there was a subsection for games.

    Also...

Look at the number of pages in that section.. We're only human guys, that'd be too much work over an issue like this. This goes for both a subforum AND a sticky, someone would have to do the dirty work moving/linking all.

What I'm saying - if it's a popular thread game, it won't die. If it's forgotten but you want it to see daylight again, new thread or bump it it's not months old. ( preferably I'd say not older than 1 month )

I don't think it's necessary, really. Forum games will die if they don't get popular, and stay up if they do. Plus, it's not really like forum games are a big part of KH-vids.

i agree with hissora, it is every game for it self, and forum games don't really make much of KHV, so i don't see it as necessary

I was pondering why can't some games go to the Competition forum in the Spam Zone area just now since some games can be 'competitive' any way. Is there a reason why that wouldn't work out if we don't make a sub-forum? I still don't see anything wrong though with a place for games.

Well, I can see this working, but it should be "advertised" more. No one goes to the Competition section...
There are still posts I made that are relatively "new" back when I had like 300 posts...

some people might like to play those games and some don't ...but it would be better if we make a sub-section for it ..it would make the forum more organized this way ...
some people might only post there, who knows ^^

I think this is a very good idea, games aren't spam I don't think.... well not fully if that makes sense.

A subsection would be great I think, I enjoy playing them- I would like an easier way to access them all
