If you don't cry you have no heart.

These films are some of favourites (Along with Disney. xD). Although they are a wee bit cheesy at times, and slightly mental, it's all good family stuff (my favourite stuff). We were watching Whisper of the Heart (I got all my siblings into the collection. xD) and my came in and watched what was left. lol, she thoroughly enjoyed it herself even if it was completely new to her. I'm determined to get her to watch something like Howl's Moving Castle!

I adore the living daylights out of Studio Ghibli... From the likes of Spirited away to The Cat Returns, you're guaranteed a good plot and a smile across your face any day.

I loved The Cat Returns, Spirited Away, Princess Monoke, Howl's moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky, Ponyo, Porco Rosso... And I've yet to see the rest. x

Spirited Away is my all-time favourite... Just the brief suspense of it, the characters, the original plot. That's the thing about Studio Ghibli, their plots are always original.

Castle In The Sky was the movie that me and my Dad first interested in the world of anime. It was the first anime-styled entertainment we had ever seen.
So Studio Ghibli/Castle In The Sky have a very special place in my heart, it is also my favorite =).
I have watched most of them, the popular ones at least(Howl's Moving Castle, Castle In The Sky, Nausicaa And The Valley of the Wind, The Cat Returns, Spirited Away, Ponyo.) I have to see Princess Monoke and My Neighbor Totoro eventually. I also want to see some of the unknown ones.
    Grave of Fireflies hmmm.

    It is Ponyo.

Anyways the odd thing is that the only Studio Ghibli movie I saw and own is Kiki's delivery service. Good movie. I do wish to watch The Cat Returns though.

Another odd thing is that the english dubs usually have a star studded cast.

Uma Thurman,Shia LaBeouf, Dakota and Elle Fanning, Kirsten Dunst, Anne Hathaway, Ashley Tisdale, Minnie Driver, Billy Bob Thorton, Jada Pinkett Smith, Cheech.... you get the picture.

That's because the dubs are usually done by Disney. Therefore there is enough money to pay for a star studed cast.

    Porco Rosso!

It's a pigman flying around in a seaplane who gets help from a group whose name means "help me, mommy"! How is that not badass?

Porco Rosso is awesome indeed. One of my favourite from Studio Ghibli. I like it even more than Spirited Away.

Get yourself down to a video store now, and get/rent some Studio Ghibli gold.

The only Ghibli movies that I haven't seen (I think) are Porco Rosso and Ponyo.

My favourite is Grave of the Fireflies. Least favourite is probably Whisper of the Heart, although it is still worth the watch. I just felt that it dragged on too long.

Out of all of the ones I have watched, e.g. Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Nausicaa, Princess Mononoke, and Laputa (although I have seen bits of a lot of others, not the whole way throught though), I'd have to say that the classic one that made the studio popular over here is also my least favourite, Spirited Away. I just found it a little too weird for me. I really like Howl's Moving Castle, especially since I've read the original novel that it's based on. The music is also outstanding.

I really love Ghibli though, especially Miazaki's ones, he writes such briliant screenplays/scripts.

Don't forget Matt Damon xD And wow, there is quite a lot of celebrities dubbing the english versions...

I definately recommend for you to watch The Cat Returns, it is quite the fun film.
I've yet to see Nausicaa and Grave of the fireflies... I hear that they're both really good. I'm thinking of watching Whisper to My Heart first... Its the one where there's a girl who writes stories about the Cat, right? (Or at least so I was told by others)
