I'm surprised there's not a SF thread in this place xD
Talk about all Street Fighter games here ^-^

    I just got Stree Fighter Alpha 3 Max for my psp since it was cheap (10$ FTW), and I'm loving it. It's just like the classic arcade which I spent a fortune of quaters on...each of those quaters was well worth it ;_;

My two favorite characters have got to be Ryu and Akuma. They just pwn so much. Especially Akuma >=3

Can't wait for Street Fighter 4 either. Hopefully it'll be in both 2D and 3D so that way 2D fans are satisfied and 3D fans are satisfied =D

I've been meaning to get back into Third Strike again in preparation for SF4. Not too comfortable with Capcom taking a lot of direction from just players in the pro-gaming circuit though. They went all these years with a definitive fighting game formula. Feed-back is great and all, but only giving attention the input of a select few doesn't necessarily speak for all fans. But hey that's just me. Chances are SF4 will be the best we've seen.

The further SF4 stays away from 3D the happier I'll be. Thankfully Capcom USA aren't developing it though, so I can have some faith that it'll be any good.

I only like the original SF's for Super Nintendo. I can't stand all the others released for the PS and PS2 that include characters not canon to the original series D< My dad bought me games from the EX series, and they suck. They're filled with ******s like Akira, Hokuto, Blair.. WTF? D:

    ****** and Cammy FTW =D

    Hear, hear.

I've always loved Street Fighter...too bad I just really suck at it lol. Then again, I just suck at fighting video games all together.

I always just played as Akuma or Ryu on Easy.

There are too many to list xDDDD

Here's how it goes in order of series. Wikipedia FTW

    Street Fighter

    Street Fighter II
-Street Fighter II - The World Warrior
-Street Fighter II' - Champion Edition
-Street Fighter II' Turbo / Street Fighter II' - Hyper Fighting
-Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers
-Super Street Fighter II Turbo / Super Street Fighter II X - Grand Master Challenge
-Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition

    Street Fighter Alpha
-Street Fighter Alpha - Warriors' Dreams / Street Fighter Zero
-Street Fighter Alpha 2 / Street Fighter Zero 2
-Street Fighter Alpha 3 / Street Fighter Zero 3

    Street Fighter III
    -Street Fighter III: New Generation
-Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact - Giant Attack
-Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike - Fight for the Future

Then there's the EX series that shall remain dead to everybody >____>

And there are also a ton of spinoff games like SNK vs Capcom, Marvel vs Capcom etc.

Both are fighting, both have 'street' in the title. Therefore they are comparable. :B

Streets of Rage is a beat'em up first. The versus option was added secondly as a different mode of play for the second and third games. It's like trying to compare Super Smash Bros. and any adventure game all because Smash Bros has an adventure mode.

    Silly Mish is silly. :3

Streets of Rage is awesome though, they should bring it back like they're doing with Golden Axe.

Why was it called Street Fighter again? The only times it took place on the street was on Guile stages.

It took the street approach during the alpha series, and from there the stages become slightly more dingy than the original. Guile is most famous for his air base stage though.

@leadcat: Streets of Rage 1 is already available on the virtual console, and I believe 2 and 3 are on direct follow up. Anything else would be interesting but not as epic in my opinion. I think Gauntlet Legends was one of the last and truly good games to make "beat'em up" status. You could argue Dynasty Warriors and hardly get an objection on account of how much it rocks (6 ftw).
