Stranded

Finishing her meal Clarisse wandered onto the deck and walked to study the weather. The sky was getting darker and it was obvious that a storm was on the way. This would test the crew and the ship to the full. The storm would be make or break for them. Clarisse walked past the spoilt rich girl who seemed to be harassing the crew. She had a lot of growing up to do and Clarisse couldn't wait until it was all over. After the meetings she would fly home on one of her father's aircraft. Travel was his specialty and he owned a major airline. Clarisse always insisted on taking a standard flight at first class although she could have a private lane. She insisted on experiencing the true trip as the paying customer did so that she could see how good the value for money was.

 

*Raina sees her pass*

"hello" Raina said to her in a friendly tone

 

"Hello" Clarisse replied. She wondered with suspicion why the brat was suddenly being so friendly and suspected it was something to do with the cabin boy, Matt.

 

Matt could hear the wind in the distance before it reached the ship. The sky was pitch black. Not a good sign, and the wind was headed their way.
"Oh no..." He turned to Raina. "If you'r excuse me miss. You may want to get to your cabin. A storm is headed this way. A bad one."
He turned and ran to find the captain. A second later, lightning began to strike the sky, the waves tossing the ship ever so slightly.

 

Clarisse returned to her quarters,bemused at the cabin boy's concern for the girl and the fact that he ignored her totally. She would watch him as he seemed to be unable to be consistent in his duties and seemed to be too easily distracted by a pretty face.

 

The storm was getting worse and worse and the captain knew it. He clutched the railing as the ship turned in the waves, calling over the intercom.
"Everyone please file into the dining hall imediatly. There is no need to worry. Just a storm but we will have to wait it out. I want the crew on deck ASAP."

 

*Anna went to her room*

"I hope he'll be ok!"

*"what now sir?" Erin asked

 

Clarisse followed instructions and went to the dining room. Everyone seemed in panic and she did her best to calm the situation. She might be rich but she had a level head and began to get people doing things to take their minds off the panic. She was really angry as this was not the job of a passenger but the responsibility of the crew.

 

Matt came up to the deck, standing next to Erin as the captain gave orders.

"The storm is comming fast, boys. I want a few of you to go down with the passengers and help out with whatever needs they may have, they shouldn't feel any less relaxed than they have been on this ship. The rest of you will wait for your orders. There is no telling with these storms."

 

*Raina gose into the dining room with everyone else. she was panicing cuz she couldn't finde her dad*

 

Clarisse went to Raine and tried to calm her. "The crew will find your father and bring him here to safety. Why don't you sing for the ladies and gentlemen? I'm sure you have a sweet voice."

 

"I don't and I gotta finde Daddy...he's all I've got" she said as tears spilled down her face

 

"But you might get lost and then when he comes here looking for you he will be very sad. It's best you stay here and wait for him. I'm sure he's on his way. It's a big ship and if he was at the far end he will still be on his way."

 

"u realy think he's coming?"

 

"I'm sure. The sea is getting rougher so he will take longer. The corridors are wobbly now so he can't run. We need to have patience."

 

The ship hit against something hard and a bunch of the crew fell, getting up quickly as rain poured down buckets.
Matt chewed his lip nervously He could feel the ship taking on water right under his feet.

 

"ok..." she said

"Matt...what r we going to do?" Erin asked

 

"There are plenty of people helping the passengers but there might still be people trapped in their rooms and in corridors. Let's see who we can find."

 

"ok" Erin replied

 

Matt took off down a hallway with Erin, pushing doors open and checking rooms. Matt was horrified. The ship was sinking. He could feel the difference in weight. It was going down.
