Stranded

Matt nodded silently, carving another x into a tree. He suddenly didn't feel right, like there was something there besides Clarisse. He shook his head. It was probably nothing. Just like nothing had growled last night.

 

"We are not alone. Keep going as if you haven't noticed but move in closer. I have a knife and the brand. We can scare it away or fight it."

 

Matt looked over at her, a little shocked. "You feel it too?" He asked. "I'm not imagining it?"

 

"I can sense it and it's not far away. We are being followed but whatever is following us is keeping a set distance. It's intelligent whatever it is, close enough to watch us and far enough that we can't catch it."

 

"Good. I don't really want to catch it, whatever it is." He swallowed, trying to keep a steady pace forward without looking suspitious to the creature.

Matt squeezed his pocketknife in his pocket, having it ready and open. He was about to ask if they should head back when he heard water gushing ahead. "Here that?" He asked, looking up at Clarisse.

 

"Sounds like a waterfall which could be useful to everyone. The is also a cliff then and maybe caves. Lets go and explore."

 

Matt cast a glance behind them and swore he saw something rush behind a tree. "Let's go..."

 

"Calm down. There is wildlife on this island. What do you think I caught yesterday? Just act as if you belong here."

 

Matt sighed. "I know...but...i've never seen an animal like this before. It's so inteligant and..." He shuddered, cutting a path in the foliage with his switchblade.

"Don't worry about it. Whatever it is, it is showing no hostility."

Matt nodded.
'None yet at least...'
He pushed through a prickly bush and gasped as he caught sight of the large waterfall before them, gushing over rocks into a clear pool of water.

 

*Raina looked after the wounded and 'TRYED' to keep the lil kids out of truble*

 

Matt cast a glance at Clarisse before knealing by the pool and scooping some water into his hand, taking a sip. He smiled back at Clarisse. "It's drinkable. Let's head back and tell the others what we found."

"It will be better for them here. The water is clean and we can build a shelter easily enough. Now to move the lazy pampered passengers. How should we do that?"
