Stranded

"help!" came Raina's dad's voice

 

Clarisse helped the crew hand out life jackets and helped people put them on. "It's quite an adventure Raina so just put on your jacket and stay calm. Show the others how clever you are compared to them." Clarisse put on her own life jacket and started to help others who were having difficulty.

 

*Raina put on her life jaket never taking her eyes off the door*

 

Matt looked over at Erin, knowing he probably knew the ship was going down too. He kicked a door open, surprised when a few inches of water bagan to flood the hallway. "Sir! Are you there?"

The captain looked around and immediatly knew Erin and Matt weren't there among the rest of the crew. He cursed but had to deal with the passengers safety first. "I want everyone in the lifeboats. No need to panic for there is plenty of space and time."

 

"help...my legs r pind" her dad's voice said

"where is he?"

 

"We'll meet him at the lifeboats. He's probably helping the crew with the elderly and other passengers who have problems. Now go to the lifeboats and we'll make sure you are there for him." Clarisse was organising people to go out and helping the crew get them into boats. She was confident and in charge.

 

Matt spotted Raina's dad on the floor with his legs trapped under a dresser that had fallen. He rushed over and grunted as he lifted the dresser off of him. "Erin...pull him out from under it..."

 

"no I can't leave him!"

*Erin pulls him out*

 

"Let's go!" Matt pulled open the door and was stunned when three feet of water rushed in. Matt grabbed Raina's dad by the arm, helping him along, unsure if the dresser had hurt his legs.

 

*her dad trys walking but has leg problems and can't*

"what r we going to do?" Erin asked

 

Clarisse called to Raina. "Time to get in the boat. I will come with you. Your father will be along soon I'm sure. Come on, the crew are waiting and the captain will be angry if they don't push off soon."

 

"We carry him." Matt put his arm around the man's waist. After lugging bags every day of him life, the man was nothing. He struggled down the hall with Erin and Raina's dad.

The captain was about finished loading most of the people into the life boats. He would wait a few more moments before he left. Maybe Erin amd Matt were on their way.

 

"ok" she said geting in the boat "daddy"

"no...leave me hear...u 2 won't make with me" Raina's dad said pulling away

"daddy..." Raina said on the boat "Captain?"

 

Matt pushed open the door onto the deck, watching as the last lifeboat was lowered over the edge.
"Wait! Erin, get on the lifeboat, i'll lower Raina's dad down to you." He turned hard on the man. "We aren't leaving you!!"

 

"u must..." he said

"Matt....will the capten waight?" Erin asked

 

Clarisse stood up to help them with the wounded man. She was strong enough so she stood firmly, helping him into he boat. "Now you men get in as well. There is plenty of room."

 

Matt sighed. Nodding at Clarisse in thanks. He climbed in the boat next to Erin and the man. Waving to the captain to tell him that was everyone. They lowered the boat into the raging ocean.

 

"Daddy!" Raina said huging him "Matt thank u so much 4 saving him!

 

Clarisse nodded and st down among the passengers. She took off her silk scarf and used it to bind the wound on Raina's father's leg. She checked that everyone was as comfortable as possible and checked on Erin and Matt. "Congratulations, you both did really well and this will be in your records. When this is over you will be well rewarded for your bravery."

 

"We aren't safe yet." He muttered as the boat lurched.
"Everyone hold on! There are ropes on the edges! Please tie yourselves in!" Matt rushed around the small boat, helping everyone get strapped in.
