You are a mod in the Anything else section and a member PM's you to alert you that several members have been causin' a bit of a ruckus in the ID section. They are heavily flamin' each other, swearin' etc for their beliefs, and makin' personal attacks at each other. Others have began to join in and take sides and the thread has filled with more than a dozen pages of flamin'. You're the only staff member on for the time bein'.

What do you do in this situation to calm thin's down? And what punishment should be given?

Explain in great detail. Don't miss anythin' out. Points will be deducted if you forget to mention certain things that may occur.

If this is real, then you know I want it.

Someone somewhere might still have my application from when I was premium.

But, I think I would really make for a good staff member, especially when I'm on in the middle of the night, when the rest of staff are offline.
