Oh god. I remember the PC version. It's just like all the other ports, but not as bad as MGS2 Substance's port to PC. *shivers* I hope. I don't have access to the PS Store on my PS3, and a PC release on Steam would be pretty cool.

Yeah they didn't do any changes to the game at all... so why do they release the same game they released 11 years ago? Square will never learn. Their love for money brought them down, but they don't want to stop loving it.
I don't...I don't get it? So its just the simply old game available for everyone who doesn't have a PSN capable system? Cause if they keep release it over and over they are just gonna run it dry and then make a remake of a game that everyone JUST finished (if you haven't finished it already) :/gasp:
>Its the same game and not a remake Not buying it, sorry Square, I don't give a crap about achievements, I already have FFVII downloaded on my PS3 and PSP, I don't need to buy it again.
I dont know about you guys but I actually like it. I never really got a chance to play it on my PSOne and cant really get it for my PSP at the moment due to Zero: Shinku no Chou. I might have to put it on hold till I get a new computer if it makes it's way in North America. I do hope they re-release Final Fantasy VIII as well. Im sorry but it's a bit childish to like a game for it's graphics. The game looks great on PSOne and PC as it was years ago even though it has some more content then it did. :( Did I complain about Parasite Eve 1 and 2 not having updated graphics when brought over for PSP, PS Vita (soon to be compatible with) and PS3? Nope :P Think of it as Square Enix's way of bringing back older games for PC as they did for PSOne games. Anyway, I got the requrements from the official site if anyone was wondering.
Those requirements are multiple times higher than the requirements for the original game. They will probably make basic changes so that it is fully compatible with newer systems because right now it's better to play it in an old computer than in a modern one. Also, PC versions are still available in some places. It might be a little rare, but someone who wants to get the PC version, he can find it. If he has the PS1 version, he can use an emulator to play it. If he's that desperate, he can download it and noone would care. Square isn't making you a favor, it's ripping you off.
Isn't "Character Booster" considered cheating? Oh, and just yesterday, Square Enix announced on their Official FaceBook Page that it's coming to North America. Same trailer as the EU ver. but it's just here for those who don't believe I guess. Official NA Site (identical to the EU ver. site)
I don't know, I mean, number one a PC game is going to have some kind of "max everything" cheat, either pre-loaded in the game or through user-created mods. Secondly, for people who want to play through for the story but don't really care about gameplay (or are too awful at video games for it olololol read: me), it's a good thing. Besides, I doubt people who use it are going to go around being all "WELL I BEAT FFVII SO DAMN I'M GOOD."
I just feel like this isn't going to do well. I feel that people who don't know/never played this game are going to over look it cause of its crappy graphics. People are shallow some times and when there are shinier things out there they are going to over look stuff like this. This is just pure laziness on Squares part. They say "no remake" but they will re-release this game to death. Its gonna burn out the wonder that is Final Fantasy VII
The fact that you can save anywhere is stupid, it takes away any difficulty the game had. Especially since the game is not remade around this feature. That's pretty butchered. This is probably just for the old fans who want to replay it, but don't have a Ps3 or PsP. I do disagree with this burning out the wonder that is Final Fantasy VII. There are multiple games in the series that have been rereleased far more times than this *cough*FFI and II*cough*, and they also got a lot of physical releases. Which this game has not gotten. It's not like they've ever said it's a remake, so if people think it is, then it kinda is their own fault. Still, I would much rather have the fabled Final Fantasy VII remake, but alas...
They released the game yesterday, some people bought it, had problems with their given serial numbers and now Square took down the link for FF7. http://store.na.square-enix.com/store/sqenixus/en_US/pd/productID.250845500#.UB7wM038vOx http://na.square-enix.com/go/thread/view/139235/29269207/Paid_for_FFVII,_Got_Nothing
We must have read different things, looking at that thread it seems like Square never actually released it.
They released it and the keys they provided were not working so they took it down and gave refunds to anyone who bought it.
Although I love seeing Square squirm, I'm not seeing this one. I've found nothing that implies it's release date was supposed to be yesterday. If it was supposed to be an official release, they would at the very least say that it's out, but I've heard nothing. This seems more unitentional than an actual release.
It's still considered a release even though it was not supposed to come out officially yet. Because it's not like it depends on just one person to release this so he could just screw up, but there are so many people working there that they must have scheduled a release otherwise all this would never have happened.
