Wednesday, August 22nd, 8:25am - Axis posts a thread about how Square Enix is running Final Fantasy into the ground.
Friday, August 24th, 9:04am - Axis posts a thread admitting that he likes one of Square Enix's recent games.

Also, asqwerty97 is currently in talks with Joss Whedon about being the new recruit in Avengers 2.

 

I personally didn't like it...

But it wasn't poorly made like Nintendo had SE at gun point the whole time.

It was a little something fun for the fandom to celebrate 25 wonderful years.

 

I haven't played it, but I want to. Though the only thing stopping me right now is the graphics. I really hate the faces of the characters.

 

Yeah, that was the other thing too.

The game play just wasn't what I wanted. But to each his own, right?

Whoops guess because I'm disappointed and bitter about Square Enix's choice to make one FF game into a trilogy I'm not allowed to like any Square Enix games ever, even it's just a simple rhythm game celebrating the entire FF series, which as a whole I adore

Also, I find the faces of the characters in Theatrhythm very cute.

 

Your previous thread implied that you're disappointed with the direction that the franchise is going in, that it's being ruined. But Theatrhythm is a pretty recent game, isn't it? Just because Square made one game you didn't like (but plenty of other people did) into a trilogy, doesn't mean the franchise is being ruined, as your enjoyment of Theatrhythm proves.

T'was simply hyperbole, my boy. I don't genuinely think Final Fantasy is being ruined. My issue lies in Square Enix choosing to waste time on another XIII sequel, instead of making a new main Final Fantasy game. Oh, and let's not forget about Versus not even having a release date yet.

Theatrhythm was something fresh and new, something I never expected from Square, but I also played it before XIII-3 was even a thing.


Also, I'm guessing you totally ignored my post in the other thread where I stated that I loved XIII, but I hate that they're turning it into a trilogy because I thought the ending was perfect. I don't hate XIII.

 

I'd rather them make it a trilogy. They already went out a limb to clean the franchise's name and ended it on a cliffhanger. The response was good, now they get to end the series on a high note. This'll make people super hype for the next FF. If SE were to dump their budget into making a brand new FF and up the graphics, make new models, etc, then they'd screw themselves because FFXIII's reputation would've made the series lose sales. Lots of them.

With XIII-3 they are basically just reusing resources from the two past games though, so it will take far less time than it would to make a whole new game. It's cheaper and takes less time, the end result is also a great game, so it's aight. You could always play the new XIV, which looks to be absolutely superb after the tweaking they've done since it bombed.

Also, XIII-3 was a thing even before XIII-2 came out. It was all over the gaming news.

 

Not according to the Japanese.
I'm actually kind of glad that the XIII games and XIV have been doing poorly in Japan. Perhaps it'll teach Square that Final Fantasy isn't the behemoth it used to be anymore and stop milking the damn thing.

Of course there just gonna move on to Dragon Quest which consistently dominates the Japanese market but atleast those games are range from average to good.
