I know you're not defending that lifestyle or anything I get your point.

I just had to comment on the 'wanting that at least once.' You assume everyone is superficial and has ridiculous unattainable goals ;__; Having that much money should be against the freakin law. I'm not saying communism is the way, because I know it isn't. xD For a society to function properly, there has to be a wide range of incomes, so there will always be filthy rich and dirt poor. I personally just don't wanna see that **** everytime I turn on the TV :/ I think its disgusting to give them even MORE attention than they already have. All it does is encourage it. Now, not only are they rich, they're 'television stars' too ._.

Hey I don't hold anything against you, friend, just don't treat me differently because i'm male, ok?

Maybe its the anger that all these parents have that they give to their children.

It's sad all the crap the have on tv now...

Anyways, I think it's the parent fault for kids being selfish and spoiled, but I really don't think that's what they wanted, they only want for their kids to be happy. There is nothing wrong with parent wanting their kids happy but they need to use more disipline(sp) and show them they can't have everything but they can be happy with what they have already. At theast that's what I think and what I've been taught.

I've caught this show maybe once or twice, and rather than hate it, I just laugh at it. Sure, it's disgusting at times ("I hate you! This Porsche is red! I wanted blue! I HATE YOU!"), but you know, these kids are going to grow up ( if they ever, anyway) and not know how to anything because they've been waited on hand and foot.

Not quite related, but why would you get a 16-year old a car on their birthday? Where I live, you can't get a learner's permit before 16, there's all those rules that come with it, and you can't freely drive the thing until 16 1/2. So it's just going to sit there until the teen's old enough to drive it.

For my "sweet" 16, I just hung out with a bunch of friends I hadn't seen in a while and went to hang out in a mall. That's it. No fancy car, no 150+ people party, no police complaining about "disturbing the peace". And that's good enough for me.

Being twelve years old, In 7th grade, hah, I'll admit, I'm a little spoiled, My mom got me brand new furniture for my room, I have a computer in my room, a TV, a VCR, A DVD player, my whole house has satililite TV, I have a PS2, h311, I Have everything I want. I even have a replica keyblade, xD.

Yet, sometimes I think about how, I don't need/want some of my stuff. I don't even watch TV! I'll go downstairs and watch the news or something once in a while, but I only use the one in my room to play my PS2, which I rarely use twice a month, as there is a better one in the living room. xD

But, seriously, Just because I have a lot of stuff, doesn't mean I'm completly spoiled rotten. I'll look at the tags to see if something I want is too expensive at the store when clothes shopping, And if I can't get something I want, I don't throw a tantrum, or even really get dissapointed. xD But really, I can't believe how spoiled some kids I see actually are! Kids at school, I've seen more than once, will actually pick on other kids who have less money than them! It is truly sad! I sure hope this isn't the way of the future...

People just don't want to live simply these days, to me the basic of everything is all I need for happiness in my life. But everyone what Hi-Tech stuff and make sure they have better stuff then their friends.

To me, it looks more like there isn't enough discipline. I mean, there are people who panic at the sight of a child being spanked in a public store (like Wal-Mart), and there have been a few people who have called the police on some of these people. With people viewing certain disciplines like paddling as 'abusement' or 'some causes of psychological trauma', I can't help but wonder how many more of these critters are going to pop up?

Combine that with 'the strong willed child', and it creates a an even bigger mess. These parents who can't get their kid to do anything with their 'What can I do? He/she just doesn't want to do what I say?' and it's no wonder we have so many shows like 'My Sweet 16'.

Here's what I think should be done: We have some kind of fight show with 'the spoileds' (like a boxing match or something), and we have the following terms: Follow the regulated boxing rules, and the winner will get to keep (at most) half of what he/she has until the next match, and the loser loses what he/she has and has to spend a week or so in a certain shelter with people who have nothing. Maybe it won't do much for many, but it should be an eyeopener for a lot.

Ug, i hate those stupid shows. this is one reason i don't watch them. These are an example of Rich spoiled kids who don't know anything exept "i want". it makes me sick having to see a person on their 16th birthday and having everything they want, and then complain to their parents of every imperfection. to the people of the world who do that: IT'S JUST A MINOR IMPERFECTION!!! you don't know how much trouble your parents put into that! and you whine to them about a scratch on the door that can be easily be painted over. your parents feel guilty and think that they are bad parents because of that. i may be 13, but still, i just know that life isn't fair, and no one always get's what they want.
