Speed Racer

What is this, I hope it is true. They are making a speed racer movie and although it looks lame as all hell, I do believe I will be there on the first day it comes out. For the sole reason that I had grown up watching the show so kinda hard for me not to go and see it.

Just to clear this up: Just because Speed Racer was one of the first anime's to have ever been aired, it still sucked... hard and deep. It will never get my praise. Now then. Them making a live movie of this. I laugh because now that's just whoring the original even more.

 

What's funny is that just like the show, Speed will hardly do any acting, just making intense faces in front in a green screen while they make it look like he's driving. And what's with the little boy? It used to be a little girl the went with the monkey into the mach 5

 

Matrix producers doing this? Come on, already!

The only thing that I liked about this show was the catchy (but corny) theme song. And I don't mean the original.

I mean this one.

It got stuck in my head and I like the beat. :sweat: Other than that, it was pretty much like Johnny Quest and James Bond Jr. Destined to be remembered as a cheap 90's cartoon.

 

No, it was a boy. I think it might've been his little brother or something.

Looks just as cruddy as the original show was. :D
IMO, this looks in the "so bad, it will be amusing" category.

 

Oh geez, not the creators of the Matrix ;_;
Well...V for Vendetta was great so hopefully they'll make this movie decent.

The characters look so stupid next to that CGI race sequence. They should have just done the movie Beowulf style.

btw, Speed Racer+ Kung Fu fight scene= Epic Fail >=l

 

This movie.....stinks

judging by how the plot goes and the effects, you could tell they aimed toddlers.

 

"Speed you cannot do this race it is to dangerous"
"But father I must win this race for my pride"
"If it's that important then good luck"
"I will try my best father"
"good luck Speed"

As cheesy as the anime was I found it to be so funny.

 

I'll consider bootlegging it for the simple fact that it is nostalgic.
