My speakers (All I know is that they are Acer speakers) have been really staticy and I'm not really sure why so I was thinking about getting new speakers or someone possible telling me why my speakers are staticy. As for speakers themselves, I have no idea what kind to get... I have an Hp- Windows 7 desktop if that helps any ^_^

Please and Thank you to anyone who can help =D

Are your current speakers close to or surrounded by anything?

Check the connection of the audio cable (probably a light green end) from your speakers to your computer. It's possible it got a little dislodged, not enough to make them not work, but enough to create static.

Try listening to music from a few different programs, different songs, etc. See if they still sound off.

It's possible you've blown the speakers by playing music too loud, or they're just getting old. If you're not an audiophile you probably won't notice the difference between low-end and medium-grade speakers, so you'll probably be fine picking up whatever you can afford from your local tech store.

Right now their behind my computer monitor because theres no where else to put them.

Misty: I checked and its plugged in. Its probably just old.

Anyone know any good brands of speakers to get? Or does it just not matter? XD

    That shouldn't cause problems, then.

I was thinking something like a phone. When my smartphone is near mine, some interference static will sometimes sound.

These are what my mom and I use.

Try just unplugging it from the computer and back in. do the same with the wall. If that doesn't work then there is a bad connection in the speaker.
