This was a thought that I had about space. I am a Christian so I don't believe in the 'Big Bang' theory, but if you do than that's all right.
Now, my question about space is if we are in a galaxy, and all this other stuff is in one big universe, could there be another universe like a giant galaxy out there somewhere? And if this universe and others if there are possibly any, are out there, then what would be beyond it?
    And, here's another question:
If light and darkness are real, then what would happen to the plants if darkness invaded the plants? Would everything suddenly go wrong or would time stop completely?
    OK, my third question:
People say heaven is up there and hell is down there, but if we traveled out of the universe would we be in heaven and if we traveled another direction would we end up in hell?

Take your time with these questions! Answer the ones you feel you can answer!

The bible (yes I'm christian by baptism without my consent but...) does not mean up and down, cause the only way people would understand back then would be like social class, up (good/heaven) and down (bad/hell)

I can burn in hell for all I care but I don't believe in God, thats my cents.

But I believe in the big bang, but I also wonder if the explosion is still occuring today and is ripping new worlds into existence...

right, in this universe there are millions of galaxies, our one is known as the Milky Way. in each galaxy there are millions of stars, many of which have planets. Our Solar System (known as the Sol system) in which we are located the star is called the Sun.

by light and darkness do you mean good and evil? if they existed in any physical form (which i highly doubt) darkenss invading a planet would destroy the balance of good and evil/light and dark and wuold create chaos. lol as is the main theme throughout kingdom hearts all light creates a shadow. good cannot exist without evil, light without dark.

i heard a very interesting argument in a book, and it stated that if God created the universe then he couldnt have existed in it before hand, meaning that there has to be another universe for God to exist in. but, this then means that there would have to be another being which created that universe, which would have to exist in another universe etc etc going on and on into infinity.

a bit of background on the universe. it is infinite (which is pretty much impossible to imagine) which means there isnt room for anything other than the universe. the space that matter (ie 'the stuff') occupies is finite, and is expanding into this infinite space.

im not sure about the heaven hell thing as i am agnostic and wouldnt want to comment on it.

i think that there are other places out there. I heard that scientists discovered a new earth like planet in another solar system- it proves that theres more out there than it seems.

by light and darkness do you mean good and evil like in kingdom hearts? if they existed, which they probably dont, and darkness invaded the planets, i think everything would go wrong. it could cause mass panic and turn the world into chaos. if you look at it this way, darkness is already taking over the world, just look at all the wars, people getting killed or kidnapped, and all the unrest.

i dont think you can travel out of the universe. its too big. im catholic so i think heaven and hell are places where the soul goes after death. theres no end to the universe either, its infinate.

When I meant light and darkness I meant positive and negative forces. I meant what would happen if this negative energy called 'darkness' entered the world, woudl everything start malfunctioning, like all the computers shut down, the clocks work backwards, lights would go out, and cars would stop and stuff like that. Could this be possible?

Its dark matter, not darkness. Basically, it is "stuff". There is no explanation for it. It stays in space, it cant "invade" planets. It is intangable material that affects gravity of surrounding bodies.

I believe in the bible and god, but i do recognize that it can be proven that the big bang existed. There is a point, the center of our universe, that all planets, stars, and moons move away from. This has been proven, you can do it yourself with about 3-4 pictures taken of a section of the sky. You can see that all move away from a central point, even us.

There are most definatley other galaxies, and to answer your question of "beyond that", no one knows. Could be nothing, could me more galaxies, could be something else. Humans have not invented anything to see that far.

Heaven and hell. Again, unknown - which is nice. It gives way to allowing religion to foster beliefs without science being able to question. Hell is thought to be beneath the ground, fortunatley, anything we could use to see this would burn up or compress due to high levels of gravity before we got to the center. Heaven could be up there, we dont have the technology to see far enough. We cant even see all that far, compared to the supposed infinite space in the universe.

Yeah, I agree. You seem to pretty much see beyond science's wacky answers. Could that center of the universe be something like a big huge black hole or something sort of like that? I think Space is so spectacular...and mysterious. :D

First of all, there are DEFINATELY other galaxies. They've been photographed, studied, etc... In a single patch of sky, there are over a million galaxies that can be seen with a space telescope. Perhaps you mean universes?

Secondly, if Heaven and Hell exist (I'm agnostic, myself) they are not in the sky or in the earth. They would be in another "existence". Yeah, no proof of Heaven or Hell. But, I'd rather some kind of afterlife than nonexistence. Not Heaven. I don't like perfection. All things have flaws, so I think that Heaven would be more like Earth.

Finally, planets and moons don't move out from the center; the galaxies do. When the Big Bang happened (for those who are Christian, God started the big Bang, if he exists) all matter moved out fiercely from the center, or singularity. After awhile, this matter, which was VERY different from matter now, became protons, etc. and combined to form hydrogen atoms (it's the simplest). Because all matter has a gravitational pull, all these atoms combined to form stars. Many of these stars floated closer, creating galaxies. In these stars, due to nuclear fision and fusion, more elements were formed. After one of these first stars exploded, in a super nova, even more elements were formed. This nebula contracted to form our planets and Sun.

BTW, there are over 200 exoplanets (planets not in this solar system) known. Most are too large to have life, however. But, that's because it's difficult to find smaller planets.

The universe is full of galaxies and we've already been able to locate and identify where some are.

"Light" and "darkness" really have nothing to do with life. If you're making a point about good and evil concerning life, then that's a matter of point of view. Evil and good are simply lump sums we attribute to actions we see as acceptable and unacceptable-- varying degrees allowing. We make the conscious choice to do something and nothing cosmic or unearthly is responsible. Life, if you just want to consider that aspect, ends when energy is no longer being supplied to the organism in which case it enters entropy. Many people believe that the universe will end when there is no longer any energy left to transfer from system to system.

With regards to heaven and hell, if such places exist there's no way of knowing. The sky and underground motif has just been something that's been attributed through the mythologies of many cultures over time.

I'm a curious person, bear with my curious questions.
Maybe next time I'll ask God to show me. :3 Thanks anywas, White_Rook

I suggest you think about a career in science. You sound so much like a science teacher!!!!!!:D

I for one am a Christian, and I believe in the Big Bang theory. So what? The Bible never states, not once, how God created the universe, not once. Who is to say that he didn't cause the big bang?

*ahem* wtf? Just cause you're Christian doesn't make you a non-believer in something. >.>
Accordingly, yes there is many different universes. It is thought that every decision that requires more than one option can branch off into a different universe, giving each possibility out in it's own place.
    And, here's another question:
Which Darkness/Light are you speaking of? If you're talking of the sun vs. night, then plants can just use cellular respiration to survive at night. The OTHER darkness you're talking about, the fiction type, would not stop time. It's impossible to fully stop time. Even if you did, there would be an entirely new span of time within the halt of time. It never ends.
    OK, my third question:
No. that's not true at all...back when these concepts were created, heaven was proclaimed directly above use, while hell is directly below. While that is actually impossible, because Earth constantly moves, so hell could be one place one second, then the next it could be where heaven was.

NOTE: I don't believe in some of the things I was explaining. lol

I guess. It was just some questions I had. And (not to you Darky) if you're a Christian, have you ever read the beginning of the bible? I mean, it's not very hard to miss. Just read Genesis.

Am I supposed to be wrong because I do not believe in what you believe?

Ofcourse many Christians have read Genesis and believe in BOTH Christianity and evolution. Due to A LOT of evidence for evolution, many Christians see it as metaphorical. It's not uncommon. Infact, many Christians deny the cruelties of the Isrealites in the bible (I think in Judges, there many bloodthirsty warriors who are hailed as heroes.).

Also, why can't "Let there be light!" be "Let there be a giant explosion of all matter and form galaxies after billions of years!"?

At least you're not being snippy, Mirai. I have a terrible headache so I might blow up at someone if I get irritable....bear with me.
Yes, anyways, the reason why most christians don't believe in Genesis is because of stupid society's theories. I wish I could kick a scientist, they're are so weird...gurrr, my head....I need Tylenol....

Okay, everyone....I'm going to ask for this to be deleted...it's not because I'm being defensive but I see a lot of other forums like this one and I see no one is understanding where I'm going. So have a nice day and I have Tylenol at home so don't worry 'bout that. If you have a headache you probably feel like me. Later................no more posts please, thanks.
