    Alright, when I posted this:
I was attempting satire, I wasn't being serious.

But what do I stumble upon today?

What the hell? I'm all for the second amendment and all but a bill forcing adults to own a gun? That's...like a backwards way of violating that freedom. It's a right not something to be forced on you. There's still time for it to be killed off though. >> I'm honestly not sure on how I feel about this kind of bill.

As the article said, it is not expected to pass. It is being introduced on the logic that if it doesn't pass or does pass and is later proven to be unconstitutional, other laws forcing people to take advantage of their rights (eg, Obamacare) will be proven unconstitutional as well.

So what you're saying here is this is really a kind of test to see how people would react to such a bill or law? That's kind of the gist I got from your post, and I'm awfully tired and should probably be sleeping rather than posting. I honestly can't see this bill passing, regardless, but I feel this is kind of a silly way to prove things like Obamacare are unconstitutional.

Whether or not it'll work is still up in the air. I was only pointing out what appeared to be the purpose of the bill.

I'm really against guns myself. Though I grant merit to the fact every American has the RIGHT to own one but forcing them to get one no way!

As 9001 said, the point of the bill is to "prove" that health care reform is "unconstitutional." My only problem is that he's fighting something he views as unconstitutional with something else unconstitutional. But he does have a point. I mean, guns and health care are somewhat of the same thing. They both save lives... or do they both destroy lives? I don't know, but it's one of the two...right?

haha but really, I think it's a very far stretch. One can't say that "oh, well the Supreme Court turned down X situation, so they must turn down Y situation!" when X and Y are only vaguely related. KS does seem to be right in that this is the intent of the bill, especially considering the recently reignited discussions of the right to bear arms, but I don't think it will have an effect on Obamacare.
