Rose, along with the other weapon sheaths ran the obstacle course they were required to take. Even after taking the test who knows how many times, they still haven't assigned her a proper partner. Though there wasn't anything she could do about it beside wait, she wondered if today was the day she'd get one.

Kaito looked at the drawing Lord Death had showed them and thought about his offer. Searching the city for this guy did seem easier than heading to another country looking for a head of a gang. Beside, maybe their be another mission were they got to travel. "What do you think/" He asked his meister.

 

It was time for the exams again. Meredy didn't particularly care for it, but it was something she had to do. She didn't complain. Meredy ran the course and and did the other tests with ease. Meredy had seen one of the other sheats that she had recognized, Ash. She had never talked to him, but she rarely talks to anybody. They had tried to match her up with new master, nut none were compatible with her own soul. And each of those masters were kill. She didn't enjoy trying to be matched with others. It was obvious that her only match was her current master, Reiji. He was the only one who's soul was compatible with Meredy's. She knew that her and all the other Masters were waiting in a room ffor the exams to be over.

 

Ash watched all the Sheaths run through the course and follow procedure.... His blue eyes landed on Rose, waiting for her last part of the test. Humans...they were seldom late...so why this one? The instructors, obviously more experienced Masters, frowned down at the list they held. "Masamune Chiaki..." Even as Masters, everyone in the room was dead inside....the idea of it interested Ash. Were they dead inside because they'd seen so many students come and have to be killed? Or...was it simply from being around them? Weapon Sheaths...children born, raised, trained and taught not to feel anything...not to question orders...to practically be...living weapons. The doors creaked open. It was obvious who the blue haired boy poking his head inside was. "Chiaki! Get over here, now!" His aqua colored eyes were half closed, giving him the look that he simply didn't care. "Eh? So bossy so early in the morning..." Even as he complained, Chiaki came and knelt before Rose, looking up at her curiously. "So you're a Weapon Sheath... Not very unique are you? Pretty...but not unique." A book was dropped onto his head by a female instructor and he grumbled before shutting his eyes. The world to Rose and him narrowed down to a small circle around them. Ash leaned forwards on the balls of his feet, staring at the faint glow coming from Chiaki. In Roses' eyes Chiaki's soul would appear as the one thing she was interested in most, it was how they would link and stay connected. Focusing a bit more, Chiaki pushed harder, thinking Rose wasn't accepting him. In their tiny world, the ground around them blossomed with roses. He held his hand up, a single closed rose lay in his palm...the center of his soul. Naturally the pulsating orb of aqua blue energy that poised as his soul to others' eyes engulfed his body. Ash rocked back onto his heels, "A large soul....almost as large as Satomi's..."

 

Apollonia looked at the drawing and then to the tablet.

What was she going to do? Fight Lord Shinigami to get that mission? That would disrespectful on all levels.

The silver haired Meister nodded. "We'll take it Lord Shinigami." she bowed and than took one more look at the picture, taking in every detail so she could find him later. "We will be on our way then. Bye bye." she waved and the mirror turned off. She looked to Kaito. "Lets go than shall we?" she smiled a little and than headed off out of the office.

She was slightly upset, but hell. A mission is a mission and if Lord Shinigami wanted them to do this than it must be important.

 

Rose's eyes became transfixed on Chiaki's soul the instant it became a rose. As she continued to stare at the soul, she concentrated on it more. Which helped in the bonding of their souls.

"Right behind you." Kaito said as he followed behind her. He didn't really try to memorize the picture Lord Death had showed them, so he'd let
Apollonia handle it. "So, how're we going to find this guy?"

 

Chiaki was sweating from trying too hard when he felt a distinctive pull as his and Rose's souls clicked together. Each of the instructors leaned forwards inspecting the completed process before nodding to each other. His eyes opened and his shoulders slumped, the visions of roses disappearing. "Nobody said anything about having to put that much energy into this.... I need a nap..." Standing, he peered at Rose, poking at her cheeks and letting a lock of her hair slide through his fingers, "I guess...you guys really are just like living weapons. Not much going on in that head of yours...is there?" With the class over now, Ash walked past them. It always was strange to see how new Masters reacted to their new partners. He followed the pull of the impatient feeling from Satomi to the classroom.

Satomi hopped up, jumping over desks and chairs to reach Ash and ruffled his hair when she did. "Time to go. We have a mission and I don't want to let our naughty demon friend get away." Following Satomi, the pair reached the nearest door and she pulled out a key. Unlocking the door and flinging it wide, they stepped out of the school and into a graveyard. "So...this is supposed to be a place located near that DWMA place...right?" Ash shrugged, "Looks that way. Isn't that their school up there?" He pointed to the looming towers of the DWMA and Satomi rubbed his head again, "It is. Good boy."

 

"I could say the same about you." Rose replied. While she had he doubt about her current master, it was still better than nothing.

With the Weapon Sheaths test over, Reiji got out of his seat and waited for his partner.

 

The test was over and Meredy's soul hadn't been compatible with any other masters. Since the test were over, her master was probably waiting for her. Meredy walked over to Reiji who was already waiting for her. She stopped beside her partner and looked up at him, as if she was expecting him to do something.

 

Reiji looked at Meredy when she'd arrived. "Come on, we need to find a mission to do." He said before leading her out the class.

 

Chiaki winced, making a mockery of being wounded, "Oh my dear...that hurts. At least it's good to see their is some life inside you. Come, come...we'll go and visit Headmistress to give her the full laydown of us and whatnot." Leading the way out into the halls and walking aimlessly down one of the long corridors, Chiaki looked over his shoulder at his partner, "My name is Masamune Chiaki. Call me whatever you want. I suspect that you have a name?"

 

"I'm Rose" She replied to her partner. "Now what are we going to do?"

 

Chiaki pointed straight ahead. At the end of the long hall down from the testing area was the Headmistress' office. Reaching the door, Chiaki exaggerated his exhaustion. Opening the door, he put a finger to his lips for Rose to be quiet, "I've only met Lilith once before...I've heard...she's a real beauty." The door swung open and they were met with a scowling light gray face framed by pure white hair. "O-oh...h-hey...you're...already standing there... You didn't perchance happen to..." "Hear your lack of respect? Yes, I did." "Oh...well..." He swallowed nervously and she pulled them inside, "Sit...let us discuss your mission." Taking a seat in a low leather chair, Chiaki patted his lap, "You can sit.." "In the other chair, Miss Rose." She glared at Chiaki, "Now...Masamune...Rose, you two have been not only assigned as partners but you were born to serve eachother and in turn serve me. I am Lilith...Headmistress of MagiK Acadamy. Now...this mission I have for you two. I need you two to go to the Nightwing District and take care of the Duras infestation. We've not detected a General class...so it should be an easy job. One perfect for a newly joined pair."

 

Rose took the seat next to her partner as listen to what Lilith had said.

Leading his partner towards the headmistress office. Once there, he directed Meredy to wit at the door with him.

 

"I guess we should probably go check in town. I'm sure we'll find him eventually and if anything we could ask around."

Apollonia walked out of the school along with her weapon and they headed toward town.

What fun this will be... She thought. A wild goose chase around town looking for this guy...

Apollonia and Kaito made it to town.

"Hmmm, we should start maybe in the ally ways. If Lord Shinigami wants him, he must be dangerous and bad."

The meister just turned down one random ally way and turned to look at her weapon. "Come on, the faster we do this the faster I can finish that report the Professor assigned us."

 

"Right behind you." Kaito replied. He made sure to keep his eyes open for anything suspicious or any shady looking people.

 

Lilith stood and patted Rose's head, "Don't do anything improper to this young girl, Masamune... And do get the job done. I'd hate to send another group after you to finish the job." Chiaki frowned, "Glad to see you're still concerned for my wellbeing and anything else I do... Alright then, Rose, let's go. Quickly before she starts handing out more opinions on my lecherous behavior." Chiaki fumbled around in his pocket as Lilith slid a tarnished silver key across the table towards him, "You're getting ahead of yourself. This key will give you access to anywhere you wish to go. Just a bit of a perk." Chiaki took the key, grumbling under his breath as he opened the door, finding himself looking at the other pair outside her door. "Good luck...she's nuts." Storming out of the office with his hands behind his head, Chiaki stopped in front of the first door with a keyhole he found and examined the key, "I'd be worried if I hadn't seen the others using this thing."

Satomi set her heeled boot on the top of a gravestone, "Time to find those Meister weirdos..."

 

Reiji gave the boy a confused looked as he walk by. He shrugged it off as nothing before heading into the office.

Rose followed behind Chiaki to the door. "Okay, well let's go."

 

Robin set foot in Vienna. He thought for a moment. "So of all places...why choose a place called the City of Dreams? Is it connected or is it just a coincidence?" he wondered aloud. He scanned the environment, looking for anything out of the ordinary, but he couldn't see anything. His eyes came to rest on the Hundertwasserhaus. "Well, there's as good a place to start as any..just gotta wait for Taiki to turn up.." he said, beginning to wait for his partner.

 

Taiki soon made his way into Vienna soon after Robin did. He took in a quick look at the scenery about him, it was certainly an interesting place to find a angel. "Where do you think this 'angel's' at?" He asked.

 

Robin gestured in the direction of the Hundertwasserhaus. He honestly had no idea if there was anything there or not, but he wasn't about to tell Taiki that. "Over there, if i had to take a guess" he said, an air of confidence around him. He looked at Taiki. "Lets get this done really quick so we can go do some really difficult missions and get stronger!" he exclaimed.
