Soul Eater- A Witch's Academy is on the Rise?

"Then I guess we will test each other on this mission. For now, let's observe one another. If I try to be your weapon now, we might get unwanted results." Sekira nodded her head to agree with herself, then started to walk where Grendel was walking off at. "Can you handle yourself without a demon weapon?" Sekira realized how stupid that question was. Of course this girl probably already knew how to handle herself, what did she expect?

 

"Hmmm......" Angel tried to remember carefully what she had done with her sword. Did she already discard it? There's no way. She and that sword have been through a lot. It's most likely still in her chest at the room she's staying in. "I need to go and get my previous weapon first. I will be back soon." Angel hurries away to get to her temporary room as fast as possible. She didn't know how soon they were departing and did not want to be left behind, since she didn't actually know where the place their mission will be at. She reached her room panting for breath and went to the chest, unlocked it with a key in her jacket and snatched her sword out quickly. After taking her sword, she locked the chest again and attached the sword to her waist as she used to while hurrying back down to where Sekira and the other students were heading.

 

ooc - I don't really know what to post for Terra... And so here comes the post :D

Terra followed Grendel out with a smile. "No need to apologize." She said quietly.


Beyond Black, the darkest one, or so he thinks, had arrived to Medusa's gathering early. He figured since he was about one of the first people to come to the DSA he should be one of the first to this. Through out the short and boring event he stayed in the back, watching the other students to watch out for someone to partner with. Sure he could live on his own, but that was boring.

Finally, the mission was assigned and everyone began to leave. On his way out he noticed another witch that he had not seen through out his stay here. Hmm... Doesn't seem so strong. He lost interest in the silver haired witch and then exited the castle. "So our target should near by... They better be fun."

 

Kirby and Soul looked to each other. Why do we gotta be with him? Kirby grumbled in his mind. He hadn't said two words to Soul yet and they already weren't getting along. Whatever. It's not like we're going to have to cooperate to get through some perilous situation alive. And what about that other creep, Stein? He keeps looking at us like he wants to see what we're made of -- literally.

"We'll do our best," Merlie assured Lord Death. She was already trying to imagine how Kirby would feel in her hands. Would he be heavy or light? Have a leather or rawhide handle? What shape was his blade exactly? She smiled; being his partner was going to work out just fine. If he ever opens up to me that is.

"When do we leave?" Soul asked, ready to get going as soon as they could. The situation was serious and there was no time to waste mulling about the Death Room. Who knew -- maybe he'd get a soul or two out of it.

OOC: Apologies for the delayed post. Worked all weekend and wrote two papers today. ><

 

Angel made it down with time to spare. She was still panting from the run but she was quickly recovering as she followed the crowd of students making their way out of the arena. Soon, she saw the exit to the school and caught sight of Sekira, Terra, and Grendel. Angel hurried through the crowd to the exit and after opening the door began to walk calmly. She kept relatively close to Sekira, but maintained a decent distance. Not too close, not too far. She showed her sword to Sekira. "This was my weapon. It's not a demon weapon, of course, but it still works and it's accompanied me through my journeys."

 

Sekira looked down at the sword as she walked, seeing it gleam in the sunlight. "It's very authentic," she commented with no enthusiasm. It wasn't like she wasn't interested in the sword. She just had other thoughts on her mind. Why in the world did Angel want to team up with her if she was interested in swords? Sekira glanced back ahead, following the group as they walked.

Lord Death clapped his hands together, very pleased that the old and new students were so willing to take this challenge on. He knew if anyone could solve these mysterious, they could. Children just had that knack of finding things that even Lord Death couldn't see. "Right then! You'll leave as soon as possible! I wish you all good luck!"

**Medium Time Skip!**

OOC: Yush, everyone will arrive to their destinations. Since I have no main characters to control over the psycho dude situation, I'll have random towns people pop up to the group and tell them all their worries and troubles until someone makes psycho dude/chick. As for the gang for the DSA, you guys that are in that group may make small gang members to slice and dice. Maybe they say a witty comment or something. You choose. I picture them hanging out in a cave. So good luck everyone!

Maka came to a stand still in front of their destination. The sun was just beginning to set, which meant it was getting dark already. The moon would follow soon though, and they would be able to see their way around a bit. Plus with the reports, it sounded like most of the activity was at night. Maka sighed out, looking at the creepy amusement park in front of her. 'Why does it always have to be this way?' She sensed something odd and daunting coming from the abandoned place, but she couldn't figure it out. 'I have a feeling this is going to be scary...'

Maka turned around to face the group, watching them as they were making their way towards her. They had two newbies and a teacher. She knew that Stien could help them out if they got in a jam. It was the others she was worried about. Especially Zoey. 'Guess we'll see how capable they are.'

Koji made his way up the small hill until he was at the top. Then he stopped, seeing the place in front of them. "Whoaaa... That's huge! And creepy looking!" Koji smiled and then turned to Zoey who was not too far away from him. "Good thing you can't see it, Zoey. This place gives me the creeps just looking at it."

"Actually, you're mistaken." Zoey said as she came to the top of the hill. Her head was facing right where the amusement park was, and she stayed silent for a moment. "I sense something wrong with this place... it's subtle, but it's there. That alone gives me the gitters."

Grendel stepped into view of the caves, and just stood there. He could smell humans within the caves, and he could even hear them laughing and carrying on inside. 'They're so noisy... But the noise won't last long.' He wasn't planning on walking in and giving an introduction. He just thought he would head on in and start the job. Besides, he could see that another guy was already here. There wasn't going to be much time before the others showed up. He looked over at Terra. "You ready?"

BIC:
"So basically, come up here and get a label to say whether or not you're a miester or a weapon. Take a look around and try to find someone who matches your soul's wavelengths. Also pick up your schedule when you come get your tags. If you have any questions, just come see me or the other staff members. That'll conclude our orientation. Good luck." With that, Sid went around to stand behind the tables and waited for the students to come and get their stuff. Nigus was there to help pass stuff out as well.

 

Kirby stared at the amusement park that loomed before them. They had to go in there? It was unsettling to say the least. But this was the first step of his journey to defog his past. He looked at Merlie and gave her his best confident grin. He was excited to get this started and solve whatever mystery was going on.

Merlie smiled back at Kirby. She wasn't disturbed by the gloomy amusement park in the least bit -- it was a challenge to scare her unless you happened to have a snake on hand. What threw her off was the prospect of a possible fight. Something had to be here causing what Lord Death was describing, and they just might have to take it down. She and Kirby hadn't fought together yet so she'd be learning on the job. She'd just have to trust Kirby, and he'd have to trust her.

"Man, this is so not cool," Soul sighed, staring forward at the amusement park. He glanced to Kirby and Merlie and saw they looked ready to go; as did Maka. What Zoey said caught him off guard, but then he figured that she must rely on her other senses since she couldn't see -- that must have been why she'd felt something off about the park.

 

"Authentic? Maybe so, but it's absolutely not the best weapon to use. Its blade is dull. The material used is poor. There have been times where I thought it was at its limits." Angel chuckled at the memory where she could have sworn the sword was bending under the pressure exerted by a thief's knife. She looked ahead and saw a trail of litter leading up to a cave. Geez, destroying the environment and making yourself conspicuous as well? This is too easy. "I bet that's it." she whispered to Sekira as she tried to creep softly without making much sound.

 

Fae returned to orientation, and heard Sid's direction. "Weapon..." she mumbled, looking around. "I'll find one eventually." She approached Sid, staring at him. "Wow... Y-- Oh! I'm sorry!" She laughed. "I'm a Meister, and uh... Is my scheduale here? Fae Bird?"

 

Professor Stein smiled as he walked along side his students "well this is a very interesting place. Who knows who or what could jump out at any time. A perfect place for a future laboratory" Stein said as he walked ahead of them and looked over his shoulder at the group "after all if I were to dissect somebody alive nobody would be able to hear their screams" Stein said with a dark and creepy grin and then smiled normally as if he was telling a joke. The question was...was he actually telling a joke?

Death the kid and his group arrived over at the area that they were assigned "This is the place father spoke of. Lets get some information from the townsfolk, they might have some information about this killer" Kid instructed to his group

 

Maka turned her attention on Stien, suddenly feeling chills run up her spine. "Eh heh, that's great Professor Stien," Maka said with forced enthusiasm. 'I think you're scaring the new people though.' She looked over her shoulder and smiled when she saw Koji's eyes widen. "Yeah, he can be a bit scary sometimes," she said to him, trying to cheer him up. Professor Stien wasn't all that bad once you got to know him. But from past experiences, Maka figured the new students were freaked out. Maka then started to walk beside Soul, staying close by him while they made their way to the amusement park. "Anyways, Zoey's right. Something is bugging me about this place too. I guess we'll find out what's up when we get inside."

Koji kept close to Zoey, who was suddenly quiet. He wasn't sure what to say now, since they were almost at the entrance of the place. He could tell Zoey was a bit apprehensive, and he could see why. Every time him and Zoey got into trouble, they never knew if they were going to make it out okay or not. But they were still alive, and he would make the use of their time here together. 'It's going to be okay,' Koji wanted to say to Zoey. But with everyone else around them, he couldn't bring himself to do it.

The town where Kid and the others arrived was pretty desolate. Homes were shut and locked, stores were closed, and the place had an eerie silence to it. This place was almost a ghost town.

Patty looked high and low, trying to see anyone as they walked. "Huuuuuh... where did everybody go?!" It appeared she didn't take things seriously, but she did in her own way. She kind of missed Kirby already, but she figured they'd meet up with them again soon after this mission was over.

Sekira just nodded her head and flicked her wrists. Instantly, her fingers turned into metal claws and she was ready to go. "Here we go," Sekira said under her breath as she made her way towards the place. She could see that the others already got there and frowned. Knowing everyone else, she figured they were going to take all the souls possible.

"Ah, Fae Bird huh? Let me see here..." Sid moved through the files, trying to find the new student's schedule. But then someone tapped him on the shoulder and he looked up to see Nigus handing him the paper. "Oh, thank you Nigus." The zombie then handed the schedule over to Fae and then picked up a miester badge for her. "There you are, you're all set. Feel free to wander around for a bit if you want."

 

"Maka, can you tell if anyone is here?" Soul asked in a low voice. If there was someone else in the park besides them, he didn't want to attract their attention. The park felt like something out of a horror movie to him.

Kirby shuddered at Stein's remark. Is this guy serious? He's freakin' me out. I wish Patty had come with us instead of that Soul guy. His attitude's just making things worse. At least Patty would be smiling. I wonder how they're doing with their mission over there.

Merlie put her hand on Kirby's shoulder, walking beside him. She was uncomforted by what Stein had said; and she made a mental note to find out more about him when they got back to the academy. She squeezed Kirby's shoulder and then let go. She didn't want to say anything to him, getting the feeling that silence was best at the moment.

OOC: lulz at Kirby's "they're -- their -- there" sentence!

 

Terra looked to Grendel and nodded with a smile. "Let's silence them." In a bright flash of light Terra's body morphed from human and into a claw. The weapon jumped from her current position next to her partner to on his hand.

 

OOC: I'm really confused! I posted but everyone ignored it...(not that I'm complaining), but I was wondering if i could have a short recap please? I am really zoned out right now! Thanks! ^^

 

"Kind of," Maka said quietly back to Soul. "I can't really tell though. It's like the whole place is disoriented so you can't see souls very well. It's unsettling..." Maka kept walking along, coming up to the gate of the park. The metal was rusting, and the gates were almost off their hinges. There was a space in the gates were everyone could slip in easily, but Maka was almost hesitant to head on in. She almost had the same feeling she had when she was face to face with Chrona for the first time, but it wasn't as strong as it was back then. 'It's our duty to bring peace... so what ever is kidnapping the kids, we have to stop it.' Maka looked over her shoulder and smiled to the others. "Stick with us, and you'll be okay. If you get separated from us, holler and we'll find you as fast as we can. So with that, let's head on in and check out this place." Maka then slipped through the gap, hopping a little while trying to get her other leg through the gate. Finally inside, she walked a little ways forward before stopping and waiting for the others to join her.

Koji and Zoey slipped in through the hole as well and joined Maka by her side. "So you have Soul Perception too?" Koji asked, looking over at Maka.

Maka looked at Koji in surprise and rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment. "Well, yeah. It's not that good, but it's enough for me." Maka chuckled nervously and then lowered her hand.

Zoey suddenly raised a hand up, telling Koji and everyone else to be silent. "Hold on... something's not right." Zoey said in a low voice. The sun was down, and the moon was starting to come up now. But the change of lighting didn't effect Zoey at all. She stood there, listening and feeling with her soul all around her. In an instant, her head snapped downward and she suddenly jumped back. "KOJI!"

Koji moved towards Zoey the instant she jumped, transforming in a long metal staff with detailed carvings with eyes, suns, moons, and stars on it. He landed in her hand on demand.

Maka wasn't so fortunate though. She barely had time to react when her ankle was suddenly grabbed and then she was yanked upward by something that was coming out of the ground. Maka gasped in surprise and then only had a short time to see what grabbed her. 'A clown?'

Oh it was a hideous thing. It had something that looked like a giant claw on its left hand, and it had little stilts instead of feet. It wore a mask that had black tear drops painted under it, a cheesy creepy grin, and a big red nose to top it off. It wore a purple and black outfit, jester hat and some weird kind of clothes wrapped around his upper body to match it. Its claw also had the same color as the outfit. As soon as it saw that it had a victim in its grasp, the clown's head turned and clicked as it looked at Maka sideways as though examining a meal. Then it gave a creepy giggle and then threw Maka to the side towards an abandoned ticket booth. Then it swung its claw towards Zoey at a fast pace.

Zoey, since she had Koji ready to go, felt the wind of the claw coming towards her and raised her staff to block since there wouldn't be time to dodge roll safely out of the way. Plus she didn't know her obstacles yet. Feeling the force of the clown's claw, Zoey grunted as she was shoved backwards. She kept her balance though and merely slid back from the force. Her hands were tingling form the contact though.

Meanwhile, Maka caught herself in mid air and used her feet to catch herself against the metal ticket booth so her body wouldn't slam into it completely. Suddenly feeling a sharp pain in her ankle, Maka lost her footing on the metal building and tumbled to the ground in a heap. "Ow..." Maka's body shook as she tried her best to recover from being thrown and stumbling to catch herself and looked back up.

The clown saw that it already had one fallen victim, so it turned its attention on Maka. It snapped its claws and then started to charge towards her.

OOC: Your post was technically not ignored. Since everyone else is off doing missions, you and Fae are left behind to start the school year off at the DWMA. Sid said to come to him to get schedules and a tag saying whether or not you're a weapon or miester. So yush. As soon as people become your partners, (or you make the character yourself) it'll be hard for you guys to go on missions. The DSA works differently, so that's why people without partners can still go fight. DWMA is different and doesn't allow that unless you're a weapon.

And man... I do poopy fight scenes. Someone shoot me. ><

 

As Stein walked he took out a cigarette and put it in his mouth. After lighting it and blowing out smoke Stein looked up at the entrance infront of him and turned and faced his group "I don't really need to tell you all this but I will. The moment we pass the entrance keep your guard up. Stick by me, Maka or Soul and you will be fine. Most importantly stick with your meister or weapon" Stein said towards the new students "this is your first mission so try and stay alive" Stein said with a kind smile and then turned away back to the entrance "or else I will have some new bodies to experiment on" Stein said

Seth crossed his arms and looked over at Patty and the others "They must be afraid to come outside. Who can blame them. With a serial killer running around freely who would actually stay outside" Seth said

Death the Kid nodded in agreement "that is why father sent us here. To rid them of the serial killer and prevent the rise of another kishin"

 

Soul hurled himself next to Maka. How could he have been so slow? He should have transformed the moment they walked into the park. No time to fret over it now though. "You idiot," He chastised her, helping her to stand. He didn't mean it of course, rarely did he ever; it was just his way of showing he was worried about her. "Can you still use me?"

"Kirby," Merlie stepped backward. What was that creepy clown? Some kind of guard? Or a malfunctioning old park attraction? Without a word, bright orange light encased Kirby's body; it flashed and morphed into the shape of a short sword. The light became a solid, silver short sword with an onyx gem in the hilt in Merlie's hand. She gripped Kirby tightly -- he felt perfect in her hand. It was like an extension of her arm.

"Quit clowning around Merlie!" Kirby's onyx gem flashed when he spoke. It was a terrible pun. "Let's finish this quickly and move on!"

"Don't say stuff like that," Merlie mumbled, watching the clown's movement for an opening. "You're going to jinx us."

OOC: Maka, did you want me to send you the profile I made for the gang member?

 

Maka nodded her head as she let Soul help her up. "That was stupid of me, let's get to this." Then suddenly turned around to see the clown coming right at them.

Suddenly, Zoey zoomed to the side of the clown. It barely had a chance to look when Zoey suddenly swung hard while yelling, "Blind side!" and and hit it on the side with as much force as she could muster. A little explosion of air bursted at the clown, which made it slide away from her, Soul, and Maka. "You guys okay?" Zoey said as she stayed in a defense position while listening around her.

"Great skill from one who can't see."

Maka turned her head in the direction where the clown was. Now it was just standing there, turning its head and making a clicking sound as it did so. She could see that the clown was on all fours, watching them intently. She slowly stood in a defense position, ready for anything.

"But how long do you think you and your friends will last? Are you qualified to survive the horrors that await you? Or are you weak like the others who came here before...?"

BIC: Stein walked up beside Maka and Merlie and Zoey and looked over at the clown up ahead bored. He had one hand in his coat pocket and the other hand twisting the screw in his head adding to the noise of the clown's turning head. "alright lets see what you got" Stein said casually

 

Soul transformed to a scythe and landed in Maka's hand. "Do you think this is the thing that's been taking the kids?" He asked.

Merlie's eyes widened. Now was their chance. The clown's back was unguarded. She lept to the air, holding Kirby downwards to impale the clown's back. If she could land this blow, they might be able to end this and get on with their mission.
