While I'll agree that the game itself is mediocre at points, me and my bro have spent countless hours pitting our customs against each other. So long as SoulCalibur 5 has customs, which is most likely will, I'll buy it.

I quite liked III... IV not so much.
SoulCalibur developers really need to figure out tits is not a selling point. Heck I think the concept artists admitted they went too far with Ivy's bust in the latest game.

I liked III, IV was good but it was basically III with fancier costumes and all the characters could be unlocked by doing barely anything. Hopefully, they'll just make it more challenging for single player and add better two player modes, which was the biggest problem with IV IMO, there wasn't much for two player modes, if I'm not mistaken, they removed team battle.

I liked II and IV but disliked the rest. IV was fun especially the guest characters. I just hope that if there are guest characters in V, they would actually fit in the universe and not have movesets copied from others.

I never played Soul Blade, Soul Calibur was quite good, Soul Calibur II was good, Soul Calibur III was Soul Calibur II Deluxe and Soul Calibur IV is what Soul Calibur III should have been. I'm cautiously optimistic about Soul Calibur V.

Soul Calibur IV was fun, but it lost it's luster pretty quickly. I loved making customs so I hope they expand on that, but they really need to work on length of story and more options that would give it better replay value. I really wanna know how there gonna top Darth Vader as a guest character.

It kinda looks the same as IV. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I hope to find out what new things they'll add to it.

It all depends on what they fix or add. If they stay with the same stuff then it'll probably be just as, if not more, mediocre.

Also some new character additions would be nice... -cough-Kratos-cough-

That sucks to hear that Shura won't come back. But I hope that they might do something special for her like having her own game. But, I can't wait for this one.

Soul Calibur III was my favorite in the series, but I was really let down after that monstrosity they called Soul Calibur IV, so I have to see some improvements before I consider giving Soul Calibur V a chance.

I haven't played any to a large extent, I did play IV and really enjoyed it- not enough to get it myself but then I didn't have anything to compare it to. I may get this new one if the characters in it appeal to me.

I love number III, i used to play story mode for hours on end with my best mate, it was so fun!
IV was alright, i really only bought it because i wanted to see what it would be like on the PS3 with new graphics and such...

SCII the best game in the series IMO. III was fun, but it keeps deleting it's save file for me. I still play IV, but it was a bare bones game. If it didn't have online, it would be collecting dust. I hope to see a return of Weapon Master Mode (SCII) and a long story mode (SCIII). SCIV was just 5 matches per character, and they called it a story mode. I also want the option to pick your weapon, so you don't have to make a CaS with the weapon you want. And to whoever mentioned Kratos, he already was a guest character in SC:BD, so I doubt they will reuse him. They said the guest characters have already been chosen, and they will announce them later. The game creator said he would like to see FF characters as guests, so I'm looking forward to who they would be if they were from FF. I'm thinking Cloud or Lightning.
