In Kingdom Hearts one and two, they definitely put in a lot of extra scenes showing how much Sora cares for Kairi. And in Kingdom Hearts II, when Sora learns of Kairi's kidnapping, the quest to save her becomes a greater priority then finding Riku.

The only reason I think someone would like the SoraXRiku pairing is cause they think it is cute. And if the game states they are best friends, they are best friends.

 

This is more of a "Do you support it and why?" thread...
Also, if you don't support it, why not?

Also! The reason he [Sora] breaks down and cries when he sees Riku is because he already found Kairi but he was looking for the good Riku and didn't find him for a long time...I would too.

All the fangirls know that it isn't true and that it will not happen in the game. It just makes the game funner for those who do like it. And I guess it makes the game less fun for those who don't. Not the game it's self but the fanloving of the game less fun. errr... yeah. thats what I mean.

In direct response to iPraise's more recent post: Say, if you've been gone from your BELOVED home for a year, where do you go? Ah yes, you revist OLD places! And as for you creeps and the picture as being your holy grail of proof, DUDE HE'S BACK ON THE ISLAND WHERE HE COULD HAVE JUST GOTTEN THE PAPOU AGAIN AND REALLY GIVEN IT TO HER BUT, *gasp* NO WE DON'T SEE IT, therefore it never happens (or yet or something). And just a friendly reminder actions > pictures (and no, touching something does not constitute as actually doing the action, if he wasn't being nostalgic he would have ran back out, tore out the cursed fruit and feasted on its juicy romantic-bindy powers with Kairi).

That and for someone who seems to love little-miss redhead so much, he sure didn't shed many tears for her. Not a one. So uh, guess you guys are bummed there. My two examples versus your one. Does this mean I win? Nope!

But I bet I'll be harassed for it anyway. See tricky thing about pairings is that some people like one over the other and some people are sticklers for whatever because they don't know how to CHILLZ. It's almost like they're going on a CRUSADE to change everyone's opinion. Ain't that funny?

And as a side-note, if we stripped them of their genders and paired them up based on personality, the more sensible one would probably be Sora's and Riku's. Wanna know why? BECAUSE KAIRI HAS ABOUT AS MUCH PERSONALITY AS A FREAKING TALKING MUSHROOM (I got a better grip on Selphie's personality and I only saw her for two/three SHORT scenes over TWO games!).

And being 'good' is not a definitive personality. We can contribute the lack/lesser amount of people who like Kairi for the following reasons: She was always in the background, she pretty much was just another mission objective, and she was always getting captured/BEING HELPLESS! (First time is a gimme, but she didn't learn any self-defense over a year? What tripe is this?!)

Bottomline: Sheesh, some people can't seem to look beyond gender.

As for my stance on this subject, IT'S WHATEVER PAIRING IS PULLED OFF BETTER. And believe it or not kiddies, the majority would be the SoraxRiku ones.

 

Wow Zandyne that was slightly harsh but you did make your point. I think everything you said is right and I've tryed to make some of the same points when talking about soraXriku but don't do it so great. I think it's because it doesn't make me mad that others get mad over the pairing.
Even though some people make it seem like soraXriku is a taboo or something.

If we pair them up based on who Sora loves more as a boy/girl friend, I still would say Kairi.

 

sora might have just cryed as riku and kairi and him have been reunited after a year apart;not just crying for riku.

I hardly remember a lot of scenes but I can remember the scenes where Sora and Kairi seem fitting.
He told Kairi he was "just glad to see" her.

I pick no for these reasons:
*Don't like Yaoi
*The picture in the cave, I saw no Riku
*Sora and Kairi show more affection than Sora with Riku
*Riku distances himself from them
*Sokai look so cute together
*In Kingdom Hearts Kairi told Sora to leave Riku and the Islands and they'd go on the raft together, I'm guessing she really wanted that.
