Kingdom Hearts III Sora's New KH3 Clothes to Resemble Mickey's KH2 Clothes?

Now Nomura did mention that Sora was going to get new clothes in KH3. One thing I noticed with Sora's clothes was that they resembled past clothes of King Mickey.

For example, take Sora's KH2 clothes:

Mickey wore something similar in BBS:

Later on, Mickey would have the following attire in CoM:

... which happens to strongly resemble Sora's clothes during his adventures in the Dream Worlds:

So if Nomura really is following such a pattern, my guess would be that Sora's KH3 clothes would look like what Mickey wore in KH2 (and beyond):

So, something similar to Sora's KH3D clothes, but a little more red.

There were rumors of new clothing for Sora being orange. It had apparently been shown but since no pictures or videos emerged, take it with a grain of salt. Honestly, I really don't want red being the primary color again for Sora's outfit. And I always thought Mickey's clothes resembled Sora's not the other way around. Plus it's part of Nomura's style anyways.

Production-wise, yes. But since we already saw how Mickey's attire evolved throughout the KH timeline, I assumed it would be the other way around for KH3 (where Sora's cothes would actually resemble Mickey's)

EDIT: It actually was the other way around in KH3D, where Sora's clothes in it resembled Mickey's CoM clothes

I'm hoping with a new game means new clothing ideas, and orange? With his age and growth the black color made sense in the second game. I'm not sure how mature orange would make him look. But your right with Nomura's style it's more likely to see Mickey following after Sora then the other was around.

But with KH3D, it actually was the other way around, where Sora's outfit resembled Mickey's from CoM

This is certainly an interesting pattern but I don't think we can really extrapolate it--it seems more like association rather than causation to me. Sora and Mickey's designs were from the very start meant to echo each other, at the very least in terms of color scheme; on top of that, there is a definite "style" to both Nomura and Kingdom Hearts that one can find similarities between any of the characters' designs, ones that are intentional and unintentional. This seems more like cohesive design, to me.

A neat catch, though, at any rate.

I enjoyed the change from colourful to more subdued that occurred in Kingdom Hearts 2's costume change. Like it was said earlier in the thread, it captured Sora's maturation fairly well. In general, it would be a bit harder to extrapolate the general sense of what Sora's outfit might be, namely because the design of outfits, despite generally holding a similar style, have enough unique and individual factors that go into their design that we would need to understand the thought process of where Nomura is headed for Kingdom Hearts III in general. Will it retain a similar environment to one of the previous games? If it is darker, I imagine that Sora's clothes may "mature" even more; I did find Kingdom Hearts 2 a bit darker compared to the first game, at times, but this is just grasping for straws.

Although, to be honest, I cannot think of Sora wearing orange all over the place. It does not seem to fit the aesthetic style that the series has with its costumes throughout all of the games, and would seem both flashy and out of left field to me.

I'm all for new clothes as long as they're not super lame like in DDD. I want something a little more vibrant than what he's had in the past two games, something fresh, something cool. Orange seems a little weird, at least the way I'm picturing it. Whatever it turns out to be I hope it reflects the importance of the game and everything that has happened since the first.
