Sora's Darkness

Namine was startled that Sora had taken her hand, leading her away, and she felt a knot of worry within her stomach.
"Sora...wait...what if...what if that girl...she's...she's my friend...she's in trouble..."

 

Sora stops in his tracks. "I'm sorry. I-I did that without thinking." He turns to face her. "Let's go see if she's there."
ooc-ANF isn't on, what should we do?

 

OOC: Um...stall...by talking while walking there. lol

Namine nodded and turned, ready to walk off back to the place where Kairi was when she realized something...if this was someone she loved, her boyfriend, she would take his hand, not just walk off...and if she was to keep this chrarade, she would have to do so.
Looking over her shoulder at him, she forced a smile upon her face and took his hand, softly, entwining their fingers together.
She then began to walk on, holding his hand on the way.
Despite being a Nobody, there was something hurting, deep within her chest...resonating, loud and deep...pain...pain at how she knew this would hurt Kairi if she had her memories returned, and how it had complicated so many other things...such as...M...Roxas...
Marluxia...now how did he come into her mind again? What she had done to Sora hadn't ruined anything with her and Marluxia, not that there was anything to mess with...the problem was Roxas...she loved him, and he loved her she knew...how was life going to be the same for all of them again?
But on that matter...she could always return Kairi's memories...since Sora didn't care about it anymore, let along remember her...and then perhaps, Kairi could help her...help her know what to do...
Or would she? Namine herself didn't know what to do, as she had already messed with Sora's memories, while Kairi...she was distraught enough...would reverting her memories back to normal really help? And could she even fix it?

 

Sora was slightly surprised Namine ran off then returns back with a smile. He intertwine fingers with her and smiles. He's always happy when she's near him.
Nothing changed too much about her except she has grown more beautiful and he could almost picture she could be an angel.
Every once in a while, he would catch her wearing a sad expression on her face. Just thinking about it makes him sad as though he's breaking his promise. He turns to face her. "How have you been lately?" He asks.

 

Hearing Sora's voice snapped Namine out of her reverie, and she turned her attention back to him.
"I've been...I've been fine," she answered, keeping her expression emotionless. She didn't want to keep smiling or it'd make him suspicious...and if she frowned or sighed, he'd be concerned. "I've...I've missed you...I kept wondering...if you'd forgotten about me and if...if you were truly happy..."
This was all basically true, although the way she had said it, she didn't make any implication of how Sora had acted before when consumed by darkness...the one who had hurt her and so many others, not just physically but mentally...
But it seemed...the real Sora was always there - he was standing besides her now, wasn't he?
However, a wave of regret washed over her, and she couldn't help but think that this was just an illusion of happiness...having him believe he was with her, when she wasn't even sure if this was what she wanted...if everyone else could be happy, content with this, she would gladly have thrown away all of her happiness. But Roxas...Kairi...they both couldn't have been happy with what was happening now...and Riku...Marluxia...what they think of this? As for Larxene, Zexion, Xemnas, and Xigbar...whose side were they on? And what they did want? Could she trust them like she had with the Graceul Assasin now? Or not?

 

"Forget you? Namine, you and Riku are my best friends in the whole wide world, there is no way I could forget you. Besides, I'm always happy when you're right here by my side." He smiles at her.

 

"Do you still...have the lucky charm I gave you?" Namine asked, suddenly finding it hard to speak, although managing to make her voice come out smoothly.

 

He picks through his pockets with his free hand and pulls out a star shape with a leaf at the end with a chain. "Yup. I still have it." He grins. "That's when the meteor shower came and I said that I promised you that I would protect you and keep you happy."

 

Namine nodded, pasting on a smile. "I remember...that day..."
That day...that day that I had drawn into your memory...the day of the meteor shower...that never happened.
"And you never forget that promise..."

 

"How could I? You're very special to me, Namine." He gently squeezes her hand. "No matter what happens to me, I'll always protect you." He gave her a reassuring smile.

 

Namine wasn't comforted the least bit by his smile, as feelings - or rather, emotions as close as a Nobody could feel - swirled in her mind...of regret...pain...sadness...
Covering it all with a simple smile, she said, softly, "I believe you, Sora..."

 

He frowns as he remembers she was gone all of a sudden on Destiny Islands. "When you left, I could never forget that feeling of emptiness. I remember I have been crying for three days straight even though mother and father tried to explain to me, I still couldn't understand because I was too young."

 

Namine could feel herself tense, although she tried not to let it show.
"And now you....you want to know why? Or do you understand now?"

 

"I guess I would like to know, if that's ok with you." They are walking on the sixth floor.

 

"...It's such a long time ago...I almost can't remember," Namine said, chuckling nervously. She really couldn't think of a reason, especially with the way things were now...

 

"Oh." He looks down at the ground with disappointment. "Are you tired of me hanging out with you? I mean it is ok everyone needs their space, but you're the only friend I know."

 

"Oh, no, I love being with you..." Namine assured him. "I missed you...for so long...and I was so scared you'd never return...so...you don't have to worry...about that..." She smiled softly.

 

Just by looking at her he wants to say "yeah, you're right." but something went wrong as he tries to open his mouth and say it, but nothing would come out. Sora closes his mouth and nods in agreement.
He feels trapped in his own world that his heart is telling him he's not being honest with himself. As a result, he starts coughing forcefully. Sora knows she's standing right there, probably thinking what's wrong with him. He winces and smiles. "I'm alright."

 

Namine looked at him, worriedly...what was wrong? Was he hurt? In pain? Doubting...his own memories?
"Are you sure?" she asked, concerned.

 

He lowers his hands to his side and looks at the ground. "I honestly don't know Namine. This has never happened to me before, I'm scared." He looks away from her, hiding his pain expression. "There's something inside of me that might be killing me, but I just don't know what."
