She quiets down. "We can only keep one, Orochi. Your mom said so."

 

He snorted. "Both of my parents have gone nutty. Why should we listen to her when she abandoned dad?"

 

She wipes her tears then shows the tattoo. "She has the power in her hands." Mei winces as the snake moves closer.

 

"That is darkness, right?"

 

She shakes her head.

 

He growled and teleported outside the bathroom to wait for his mother. He finally raised his head from the fountain and could feel the blood sloshing around in his stomach.

 

The water turns off then wraps a towel around herself.
She rubs her stomach.

 

He curled up like a snake that recently ate a large rat. He tapped his foot impatiently.

 

"As a light child, I can't tell what you are saying. Make it quick."

 

"Uncurse Mei. Now!" He snapped.

 

She looks down at him with cold eyes. "No."

 

He matched her glare with one of his own. "And what if I put a light curse on dad?"

 

"I'll remove it and put a dark one on you."

 

He chuckled. "He won't just stand by and watch you curse everyone, you know, even in the state he's in now."

 

She smirks slyly. "Your mate is my toy. Unlike your father, I plan to keep them operative and functional. Her freedom is all but one slayed."

 

"You know, seeing as how dad doesn't want you anymore..." He trailed off as he chuckled darkly and his light phoenix perched on his shoulder.

 

She growls darkly. "You kill me here and you lose two women that are close to you."

 

"She's right, son." He said as he walked up to him while cradling Sephana. "Tch, mark my words, you will pay for this." He said as his wings turned a dull gray and the phoenix faded, but didn't disappear completely.

 

She could smell darkness starting to rise again and howls.
She frowns. "How sad. She'll kill herself before I get to." She grabs her clothes then changes.

 

"You talk about her death so nonchalantly," he said while gritting his teeth and clenching his hands, "as if she means nothing!" He yelled at her over a new sound, like the slow beating of a giant heart. A dark aura began to pulsate from him as he rised a few feet off the ground without the aid of his pitch-black wings. "Your day of judgment has come." He said in a voice no longer his.
