SOOO............What does bloody mean?

by bloody i mean the Great Britain meaning of it.......whats it mean?

 

It means covered with blood.

Its also a slaing term expressing frustration... kinda like damn. It used to be considered profanity, but I'm talking like in the 50's and such.

 

Some what related to the word fuck

 

It's kind of... um...

We use it to express anger, frustration, that kind of thing. It is often used with 'hell'. For example:
"Did you do the homework?"
"BLOODY HELL!! IT WAS DUE IN FOR TODAY!?!?!?"

and so on and so forth. :'3

It works in the same way that 'fucking' does. 'Cept not in the sexual sense.

 

I'm pretty sure it refers to that one time of the month...

Silly people. Bloody simply is used the same way as how we use dam. Bloody is just meant as an insult in britain. It doesn't specificly have to have a meaning. I mean, its simply a 'sentence enhancer'

 

I always thought it's kind of like when you say goddamn. Example:
You goddamn idiot
or
You bloody idiot

IMO It's said when someone sees, or hears something, they don't like/believe

e.g.

Random person: *Sees two other random people beating the hell out of each other* Bloody hell!

 

I thought that it was short for "By our lady", well at least it would make no sense. Like everything else outta Britain. I still blame them for America.

bloody means damn.... "bloody hell!" in shock, or annoyed.

a very mild swear word with multiple meanings. adds emphasis to basically anything you want it to, most often put before words, or in the middle of them. also often means annoying. has absolutly NO effect when said by americans.
