So, i was doing a fandub...
The first thing i did was put it into Sony Vegas, then cut it so the only thing there was the part i wanted to dub. then i put in the music/dubbed it...
And for some reason the size of the video dramatically increased.
I put the video in there, and at first it was 20 megs.
after CUTTING THE VIDEO IN LESS THAN HALF, and then dubbing it, the avi i saved was 500 FREAKING MEGS. can anyone tell me how to prevent this?

Well it sounds like the audio file is big. What format is it in?

Also I don't claim to know how video editors work technically, but it could be it got bigger BECAUSE you cut the clip, as it requires it to 'remember' where it's cut etc. etc. ... Who knows?

Also, don't save it as an avi, they're always huge. Alternatively, try .wmv; those files are nice quality for a fraction of the size.

You probebly saved the avi as an uncompressed format.
You should mess around with the export settings, look for something about compression, I can't remember what I use but mess around you might be able to fix it from there.

What I save in is WMV, it works just as good as AVI and it doesn't take up half a gig if you save it right. (NOTE: If you set it in certain way it will be 500 megs. If you have any other questions just PM me.)
