I agree with you. The video part is really all I didn't like about the PSP. I think they stopped making them if I'm not mistaken.

Anyway, yeah...it's the same for my iPod. I can't put it on unless it's MP4, which is complete idiocy.

 

So where's the Xbox fanboys then? Anyway I don't give a **** about Halo, and wait till 2008-09, there will be better games for PS3, I mean a God of War 3, a second Resistance Game, The new game Rockstar said that they were making for the PS3, Final Fantasy XIII/ Versus XIII, and the Nintendo Wii will have new games aswell, I plan to get both, for the Handhelds, I haven't got either so I wouldn't know.

Actually Darkwatch, Nintendo Wii has 2 M rated Games , Farcry, and RE4 Wii Edition , so its a lil' Not for kids .

Ps3 would own if it had a price drop but some people already have an Xbox 360 AND a Wii and could easily lose intrest in the Ps3 before it can fly off the shelves. Some people are just waiting for the anticipating games like MGS4 and Final fantasy XIII and such.

When the PS2 came out it too was slower to sell in the immediate than the Nintendo console it competed with. However, because of the games aimed at the hardcore gamers that are 'adults' and 'teens' instead of just 'kids and family', the PS2 outdid all of the competition. It was slow, but it grew.

I think that may be what happens with the PS3 as well. It's pretty much the same pattern and if Sony manages to get the games that hardcore RPG fans and more aggressive games that some of us like. Not everyone likes Mario, Kirby, Donkey Kong, and such. I think the Nintendo games are alright and can be fun to play with others, but really, other than Metroid, Megaman and Zelda, it just doesn't hold my interest. I like deeper storylines and depth. And well, I like my shoot em up games too. Not everyone likes the 'family games' or has 'family' to concern themselves with.

The price is already starting to come down on the PS3 and as libre said, if it continues to drop, PS3s are easily going to sell well on the market. The PS2 was also more expensive at first and dropped and people went out to get them. This time the PS3 has a lot of stuff on it, and part of the reason prices can drop is because BluRay is becoming cheaper to obtain. I'd be happy if it would drop another 100 bucks.

 

I was born and raised a Sony fan-boy, so i think i know what i'm saying when i say Sony just needs to strike more exculsive deals and drop the price a bit more. Then more people will buy it more than 360, since it only has a failure rate of 0.02%. Heck, sony has the advantages over microsoft, they just don't know how to use it in a way that'll atract more consumers. (Hint: PSN acheivement points.)

 

Yea basicly the price is holding back everyone from buying a PS3 we can all agree on that. Which I find odd it hasn't dropped more yet, when the PS2 came out it was like $250 or so, plus if you traded in your PS1 you could get like $50-100 off of the PS2. Which I don't know if Sony is doing so right now, but once those happen sony will be swimming in cash. As for games once all the stuff from E3 is out, chances are more people will be more compelled to go and buy one, coupled with a price even more.

 

The trade in part is more on the part of the gamestores.

But I do remember getting my PS2 a year after release, but from the looks of things I will be waiting 2 years after release.
