    Let's talk about Sony.

Like Sony's PS3. You guys like it? Let's talk about it.

What about the PSP? High price, but is it really worth it? Discuss!

I don't like the PS3 personally (yet). Once it drops in price and more games come out for it (like form E3) I'll get one. But for now, I want a Wii.

Psh, right now the PS3 is the best buy out there. F*ck the Wii. The wii is like immediate gratification, sure you get Zelda, Mario, SSBB, and Metroid, but that's it. with the PS3 you get both FFXIII's, Uncharte,d Lair, Ratchet, Killzone, Socom, etc. It already has more hardcore games than the Wii.

As for the PSP, how dare you insult the gaming Ipod :P Of course it's worthit. More hardcore hand held games and the ability the listen to music.

True. The PS3 does have more action based games. Which is a good thing. Though that's the thing, Wii is aimed at kids. It'd be much wiser to get a system you can have 'fun' with the family. Screw games where you can shoot someones head off.

    ....

PSP is worthless. has like no room for music. Memory sticks fail, since you get like no space on them unless you waste like 20 bucks on a 1 gig one. Oh yeah, and the movie element fails too. You have to buy separate movies for it. WTF is this? XD

Psh, Wii is going through it's drought. So what if you get your two family games that are Wii fit and Wii sports. You need some good hardcore single player games because you can't play family games all the time. Mario, Metroid and the like can't solve such a thing when you compare to MGS4 and Socom.

Lies and deceit and slander! That failed so much I had to add a new line to my catch phrase :P The 1 gb is definitely worth it, I bought it and now I can allthe music I want on my PSP, now I don't have to pay so much money for an Ipod plus I get Metal Gear on hand.

The Wii maybe have /those/ family games. But it's games are directed towards a younger audience, which is why it can be good. Often times games are far more fun if you're playing with friends. You can also get a work out. :P Anyway, Socom and MGS4 are good, sure, but you can still get just as great gameplay on a smaller, more capable console. Plus the Wii isn't trillions of dollars.

..... LOL All the music you want. XD each song is 3 MB. You can only have a total of 33 songs on your little memory stick. And the games are usually like 10 MB, so what? I'd rather waste 150 on a DS and buy Rub Rabbits than play with a PSP.

Yes, but I don't see the point in a family based direction when the majority of consoles are sold to hardcore gamers. They feel left out and always will with the horrible purchase that is the Wii. If you get a work out playing wii tennis you need to get out more is all I have to say :P Sure it's good when firends come over, but I've rather play multiplayer battles on Haze or co-op Ratchet and Clank with them than Mario Party 8.

Lol, a 1gb=1000mb man, there's alot more than 33 :P The games are in the Kb's, MGS takes no more than .8mb. Lmao, no just no, Socom, Metal Gear, and, one you shoud like, Mega Man Powered Up are much better.

I do agree with you about the Ratchet and Clank and Haze and whatnot. Though, still, you'd be surprised at how massive the family-gamer population is. It makes up a good 40% if I'm not mistaken. And even if those action games sell like crazy, a Wii console game (because we all know nintendo) wouldn't get law suites against it's extremely violent games. Like the PS2's Hunter (can't remember the name really). It was a game that got banned from several countries because it was a game where you played as a serial killer and kill other murderers. Anyway, the point is, a gaming industry that sells totally legal games for a much wider audience (you can be a late teenager and still play these games) is a far wiser choice than to buy all these insanely expensive games. They may be extremely kickass, but they ultimately don't sell anywhere NEAR as good. Though if time does tell, I predict the PS3 will turn out just like the PS2. Best console of it's time. That, I can probably assure you that it will happen. And if Sony does what it usually does, it'll upgrade it's PS3 to a smaller size. I'd say it's hard to tell. Since both systems are looking to fight against eachother exactly as the PS2 and Gamecube once did, once I think about it.

Anyway, I meant to say the PSP can hold only 333 songs. I suppose that is a hefty amount, but still... Eventually you'll have to buy tons and tons of memory sticks. I can only say it's just a very unorganized system. Unlike the PSP, the DS beats it IMO. Nintendo made it's games save memory on the actual cartridge rather than onto a memory bank. Works better, imo.

I got a 256MB with my PSP for a deal and it was great for me. I was able to fit a whole film on it as well as my game saves. I even used it as an MP3 player for a little while when I lost my MP3 Player. It was good for storing some of my favourite songs. =D

The PSP is superior to DS in terms of hardware, if only the games matched up to the quality of the handheld. It's not until recently games are getting better but it took 2 years to do that. =/

As for PS3, I have decided that it's going to be my next console, as much as a 360 has tempted me, i'm sticking with Sony. The MGS4 gameplay won me over. But right now it's the price that is stopping me. As a student I can't afford just to waste £425, and my parents won't get me something that much for christmas. =/

It is true that family based games are selling much better thanks to the Wii, but still can't beat the classic single player adventure. Why else would SSBB get a storyline in it's adventure? Certainly not to apease the family based gamers. Gaming sources and sites realize this may be the fall of Nintendo's fanbase, yet they don't seem to >_> And hunter was illegal only because you sawed some guys hands off. Nothing that isn't in movies, you know? The PS3 will do good, but it won't be the best, I'm just here to prove it's better than the Wii :P

Ah, that makes more snese, but it's still alot. If you want every song possible on memory sticks, yes, probably, but if you just take the best songs you know and put them on there, it's worth it in every aspect. Nintenodo's memory system is better, and they can pull that off because they don't have anything like songs and the like, just games. With the PSP that'd be virtually immpossible.

Of course they put single player into SSBB. Otherwise you'd have no selling point. That's not even an argument, that's just common sense. No game is complete without a full story. Unless it's an MMORPG like War Craft (which I believe does have a story, but it sells better due to multiplayer). Hell, even Halo 2 was that way. Game sucked but everything else was totally internet interactive. That's why it owned the gaming market. And actually, that wasn't why Hunter was made illegal. It was made illegal because it was later found out (after release) that it was a game that influenced a murderer to actually kill a child. But later on it was found out that the murdererer wasn't even playing the game, the boy who was killed was (I forget how this makes sense). Anyway the point is, is that it was a type of game that indefinitely promoted harsh violence. Now I for one am not a believer in the fact that you react IRL due to a games themes. However, this obviously affected Sony when Resistance: Fall of Man got a massive complaint from a church due to it having a playable battle ground featuring the very church. It was a large church that was very popular. So anyway, back to the point, these kind of indecent games can directly affect industries not being careful about their content. Often times they will keep their content completely true to a movie that they are making the game from. Most industries put time and effort into these games and hate it how all the conservative parents complain. This makes companies like Sony, and Sony itself lose tons of money in sales and customer satisfaction. However, I also firmly believe that it's wise to buy a PS3 if you want good action games. I'm not saying "don't get it". I mean, hell, I'd get it, it's losing all of it's 60 GB mods. I'm still just saying that Sony does make unwise decisions on their games and systems.

Another thing you might notice from Sony is their lack of creative control. Often slapping on a random control mapping for a game. Here's a funny clip to prove what I mean. Look for 2:10. You'll see what I mean. It's just one game, but c'mon...a RATCHET game with this horrible a layout? C'mon, Sony. Give me a break. Lmao. (though it's still a good game).

Anyway. You have a good argument for the PSP. The main reason you can put all those songs on your PSP is because it's Sony; a general music producing company. Not music producing, but hardware FOR music. Like MP3's, DVD players, all that stuff. PSP has better hardware, as DA said, but overall just....has nothing good on it. Sad to say, I'd still rather take a DS.

I'm an avid Sony fan so obviously I'm going for the ps3 as my first nextgen console.

But I don't really look at each console and say which is the best. I look for my gaming preference. The 360 has ****ty single player games but great multiplayer(only game that actually looks like it's gonna have a good SP is Bioshock but that's not enough for me to get it). And the Wii is designed for family play. Basically if you get a Wii you're not going to have much fun without other people. I don't think I want to get a Wii and have to sit down playing by myself which would be boring. On the other hand the PS3 has great single player games and average multiplayer. Which to me is important because I value the story of a game over multiplayer.

Shadowjak already listed the amazing games coming for the PS3. What does the 360 have? The overhiped Halo3 and the only game that actually looks fun for the 360 Bioshock. Anyone who got a 360 cannot deny that they got it for the soul reason of Halo3. That's the game that Microsoft holds onto to keep their sales up. I'd like to see what big game they're going to get once Halo3 gets over. The Wii only has games aimed at play with a friend. Most of their games are not that fun playing alone. Personally for me I prefer a game with a spectacular story line and a single player experience you can't find in any other game. Plus PS3 look beautiful. The 360 is to shiny for me. and the Wii doesn't match either in graphics. PS3 just looks so spectacular(ex. MGS4, Killzone2, Uncharted, FFXIII/Versus, Lair, Little Big Planet).

And on the topic of the PSP. I love my PSP. I think I made a wise choice over the DS because games like MGS:PO and MHF are alot of fun and playing online/co-op with them is awesome. Plus the line-up for the PSP this year is amazing. Monster Hunter Freedom 2, Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadon, Silent Hill: Origins, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, and need I say it God of War: Chains of Olympus. Not to mention Echo Chrome coming out for it too. Plus, with an emulator you can play older games like from the N64, PS1, and below. Plus you can play GBA games and there's an emulator coming out to make DS games compatible for play on the PSP. So basically once that comes out you've got a PSP and a DS in one handheld system. What my friend does is keep his current PSP for homebrew stuff/emulators/etc. and is going to get the PSP Slim for gaming. And it's not that much over the same price as the DS.

    DS=150$
    PSP=160$
    PSP Slim Bundle Pack=200$

But being a sony fan doesn't me I'm not interested in the other consoles. I'm looking forward to buying a Wii a good time after I get my PS3 so I can play with my friends when they come over. I just prefer the PS3 over both consoles.

Developed by Amsterdam-based Guerrilla, Killzone PS3 is a military first-person shooter that builds upon the 2004 PlayStation title. A non-linear and intensely cinematic gameplay experience that combines elements from multiple genres, Killzone thrusts players even deeper into the conflict between the ISA and Helghast. The Wii looks cool, but the PS3 looks SO so so much more interesting, what with the awesome games coming out for it. I'm kinda like NRA here, the story of a game comes first.

With that said, I'm getting a Wii anyway since my sister promised me one - her cash, not mine XD. So while she's doing that, I'm waiting for the PS3 price to drop so I can try and get one of my own.

And I love my PSP to bits <3 Though I agree with Darky, how the whole Memory Stick ordeal is a little unorganized. But meh, so long as I can put my load of music on my 2 GB Memory stick plus some videos and STILL have space to save games, I'm happy.

What what what?! Someone has to fill me up on this!

hm, I should probably see this side of the argument from the other perspective. I don't think about that because I already have a video iPod for all my music and video/movie needs so I can focus on games for my PSP. But not everybody does so I guess I shouldn't argue about that.

It's still in development. Go google it cause I forgot the link XD
But when it does come out and if it works fine, DS is soooo screwed.

Like me - I didn't get a video iPod since I knew the PSP supported those features. Though it never crossed my mind that I may end up having to organize my stuff. Atm I'm fine since I only have one memory stick but can you imagine if I had, say up to 5-10 MS sticks? Not only would it be annoying to carry them all at one go, but I'd have to sort them out and label which card has what. I'd hate that. Because somehow I can still mess up when I'm trying to be organized - I'm a natural messy tart when it comes up to sh!t like this. D: D: D:

Kay XD That would totally own if it happened. I'm incredibly curious how it would work though - isn't the DS famous for its touch screen?

Alright. The PS3 is not bad, but all I'm seeing that it has to offer is good graphics and a 6 axis controller. But if it had more titles and lowered it's price a bit, it'd be an awesome system.

You forgot man fun games on the 360. Like Assassins Creed and Call of Duty 5. And of course Microsoft would hold onto a game like Halo 3. ****. You know how much they get from that game? Billions of dollars. Also, the Wii games are fun to play alone. Like Wii bowling. Then again, that's my opinion, but still, you can't base a console solely off your opinion. That's just closed-minded.

And I don't know WHY you base your games off of graphics. Graphics doesn't make a game a lot of the time. Sure, it helps the credibility along a lot, but overall, the gameplay is what really counts. =/

Unless your PSP grows another screen, no. Just no. That's completely pointless. Why anyone would want to play a DS game on a PSP is beyond me. Just buy a DS. it's like 130 bucks. Not that expensive. Unlike some other consoles we know. *shifty eyes*

Last time i checked those 2 are multiplatform. =/

Though Blue Dragon and Lost Oddessy which are 360 exclusives looks awesome, and almost tempted me to get one.

Both consoles have a good line up of exclusive, Sony would have more but they screwed up with keeping games exclusive like Assassin's Creed and DMC4.

As for the PSP the great games are there, just that they tried to be too much like the console games and not like a portable, hence the bad controls. (could be annoying from time to time in Portable Ops) But more PSP games appealed to me. The DS has great portable games, but alot are just mini-games like you are seeing in the Wii at the moment, no-where near enough hardcore games, or games that go beyond family. I mean I look at the DS games in a store and more of them are simply movie games, some first party games and kids games. =/ The touch screen really does make things interesting, but most of the games using them are just simple add ons. Like in FF3, great game, but you don't need to use to touch screen, you may want to control the whole game using it, but using the buttons are easier.

All the PSP really needed was dual analog since it wanted to be like a portable console, not just a portable handheld, and if it had more games that are portable. Portable Ops is a perfect example, short missions, in a mission layout so saving is simple and can be spread out. Though one complaint about the PSP is that, some things are so hard to work out. Like the internet on it. It's not the most simplest thing in the world. And videos, don't get me started. MP3's and pictures, as long as you have simple PC skills it's easy, just simply click and drag. But videos...NO.

They had to be a certain format MP4. And the file name had to be a certian name, and just simply changing the file name didn't work most of the time. So you had to use a convertor, which you either had to pay for, or find a trial version but is limited. =/ So for those who aren't computer skilled, you can't use it's full potential.

But I do have to agree with you on the PSP issue.-__- And my friend owns a DS, yeeaah, he says he traded it for a PSP, and only because of the games. He was very dissapointed though....
