Sonic games SUCK! And SEGA admitted it.

It died after Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. When I played riders, I got to the penultimate level and was still wondering "Okay, so is the build-up finished yet? Can we do the story?" Then my friend told me the position I was in for the storyline.

Riders sucked, flat out. It spent all its effort in the startup. A beautiful startup, and amazing pre-game graphics. Then the graphics started to make me long for Sonic adventure 2 Battle.

The thing about SA2B was that it used the models from the game as the ones ih the cutscenes. Everything looked nice and textured. Sure, Sonic's hair may have had a few corners, but it had texture. It looked like FUR! It did not look like plastic, or a two year old with a colour in book.

I still think SA2B was the best Sonic game.

 

The last good sonic game was SA2B. While the voice-work was pretty poor, the story was pretty good and gameplay was fun. I spent alot of time with that game, and playing friends in multi-player. While the Knuckles parts were hit or miss the sonic/shadow gameplay was good, it felt like sonic, was just simply fast platforming.

Unleashed is looking promising. But i'm not crossing my fingers just in case.

 

Why a hedge hog out of all the animal choices. WHY A HEDGEHOG!!!!!!

Sonic Rush is just about the only good new Sonic game since it goes back to Sonic's roots. I'm kind of hoping that the Sonic RPG will turn out good since Bioware is making it and all. But with the sense of speed somewhat gone (I know they are trying to perserve it to some extent), I'm not too sure.

 

If they were to try and base a Sonic game from the comics (as DF suggested), I would strongly advise leaning just a tad more towards the Sonic SatAm cartoon...only this time, get the voices from SA2 and the cartoon series: None of the Sonic X voices. As soon as they were introduced, my interest quickly vanished.

 

Actually that slow-down and Sonic turns into a werewolf thing sounds kind of like a challenge issue.

Now I just hope the werewolf form sucks balls so people don't want to turn into it.

 

Saw Sonic Unleashed yesterday.

The Daytime gameplay i agree is Utter Awesomeness, but the were hog gameplay looks....okay, id probably buy it. I'm happy they actually attempted to put the Speed element back into Unleashed, but they shouldn't have slowed him down with the Were Hog form, slow platformers don't go good with Sonic.

 

Well at the very least, he is recognizing that the franchise is lazy compared to what it used to be. Perhaps it is because they aren't doing enough effort, maybe it is because it is hard to use a character like Sonic and put him in 3D in the ways they keep trying to. Games like Sonic Rider... dear lord. lol

I hope they try and get a 3D title as good as SA2 was. THAT game was genius.

Hopefully they'll at least try to make them better now.

 

Why can't Sega realize that the Adventure series was good? They keep trying to avoid making Sonic Adventure 3. They must be thick. The fans want three things.

1. Sonic Adventure textures, models and engine in another game with a decent plot and no Sonic X actors.

2. No more Rivals/Sonic clones! So far we have Knuckles, Metal Sonic, Shadow, Blaze and Silver. We are about to get another one in the RPG. In fact, let's have no new characters in general until the current ones are fleshed out. Loose the idea of new forms too. When Bean and Fang have a history and Super Knuckles reappears, then consider making new stuff.

3. Chao! People loved these things. They were great. I spent hours at a time on these guys. I raised them, bred them, bought them. I did everything for them. The fans have been crying for chao, Sega misinterpretted the request and gave us "Find the Chao" missions.

Three things. All simple!

Sure, they may be afraid of wrecking the Adventure Series, but in the meantime, their entire franchise is wilting around them. Sonic is a joke. Might as well try to cling to the one lifeboat they have, instead of trying to construct one out of the clothes of everyone onboard.

 

The only thing worse than the now low-quality games are the FANBASE ITSELF XD

The Sonic fanbase is probably what will steer you away from playin' the games

 

I suppose having fans yell at you "SONIC SUCKS!" does kind of put things in perspective.
