Sonic games SUCK! And SEGA admitted it.

In a new in-depth interview, Sega of America's Vice President of Marketing Sean Ratcliffe commented, "Some of that criticism is probably warranted. We definitely recognize that a franchise that has been going as long as Sonic, you really have to put a huge amount of effort in to make sure that you maintain that quality, and arguably a disproportionate amount of effort. However, I would say we recognize it, which is why you're seeing us this year taking the first steps in making sure the quality is right, and we're constantly looking at innovation. We can't just stand still with Sonic; we've got to be looking at different ways to develop the character, different genres, and so on."

About time. Lets hope we get some gd Sonic games in the near future.

BTW, I think they should remake this one Sonic game for the dreamcast. I forgot the name but it looked like Sonic Riders and GTA combined. <<

 

Admttin' Sonic has been a disappointment these past years is a good sign. They can't really get any worse *knocks on wood*, so here's hopin' they improve on it

 

They should start basing at least one Sonic game on the comic book storylines. They've got at least 10(?) years of issues to go through.

 

The original sonic games for the Sega were kick-ass in my opinion xD

Lol. It's about time SEGA admitted the truth. Anyways, I don't find Sonic games that great, unless you are speaking about the older ones which were okay.
But, in general, Sonic isn't that great.

If Sonic Unleashed sucks then Sonic is screwed. BioWare is making it, and if they can't make a decent sonic game then no one can.

Exactly! Same for Shadow the Hedgehog. Actually I think thats the worst.

 

To like something new, they must have something new.
I think they already know that, and i hope they do.
A hero's beasty dark side is already old.

 

Sonic Heroes was not that great. I kind of thought it was lame but it did have one song I liked out of it. Sad that's about the only thing I thought that was cool from it.

Sonic games since and including Heroes have been disappointments. I do hope they fix up things because the games prior to that were very enjoyable. Bringing back the classic 2d Sonic feel with the 3d features they have now would make for an awesome game, but so far to me they have failed. Maybe the new game will be cool...I can hope. I've grown tired of Mario games for the same reason that it just seems they have ran out of good things to do with the characters.

 

Well,i grew up with Sonic,i've always liked him,but i really didn't care for the older ones before Sonic Adventure,2D isn't my thing much,but Sonic Unleashed is very tight,i cant wait for the demo,but i hope they dont hack the demo like they did for Sonic 06'That's what brought Sonic down,took day and night,silver's speed chip,3 super hedgehogs playable outside boss battle,and a few other features.

 

Hopefully Bioware can redeem the Sonic name with Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood .

I mean they started off with Tails as a partner. Then Knuckles as a rival. Metal Sonic as a robo-hedgehog. Amy as the female hedgehog. Shadow the emo hedgehog. Blaze the Cat. Silver the Hedgehog.

They've made so many "rivals" for Sonic, that anyone else they bring in wouldn't make a difference to the game series.

 

Sonic "died" who knows when.

Some say he died after Sonic Adventure 2
Some say he died after Heroes
Some say he died when the 4kids voices kicked in.
Some just hate him because everyone else does.

Im not quite sure myself. I never really pay attention to because no matter how much a Sonic game may have been bad I still enjoyed it anyway simply because it was Sonic but I do realize it has gone down hill.

Concerning the new games.
Some people will HATE the Werewolf idea and game play automatically because some people will just HATE change in a Sonic game because of it's track record.

Some people will HATE if they don't make a change saying "Sonic games should not just be plain speed and nothing else"

Because of this, the game is obviously going to suck because of the horrible fact that Sonic fans can never be pleased no matter what you do.

As for the RPG.

Some people may like it because it's developed by Bioware.

Some people may hate it because it's an RPG.

No matter what happens SEGA can never win.
Sonic fans are the worst fans EVER!

Also from what I hear from the demo, the werewolf gameplay actually works.
