Epics based on particular works generally tell that work's story pretty accurately (such as "The Odyssey" by Symphony X, a 24 minute epic based on Homer's "The Odyssey"), if not, it will contain elements from the story and still convey its themes, but length will prevent it from telling the whole tale (such as "Time, What is Time" by Blind Guardian, based on the film Bladerunner.)

    Other examples:
Kamelot's albums Epica and The Black Halo, based on the story of Faust, plus the song "The Shadow of Uther" is based on the legend of King Arthur.
Multiple Blind Guardian songs, such as "Traveler in Time," based on "Dune," "Fly" based on Peter Pan and the entire album "Nightfall in Middle Earth," based on "The Silmarillion."
"The Poet and the Pendulum" by Nightwish, based on Edgar Allen Poe's "The Pit and the Pendulum."
Many songs from a band related to Blind Guardian, Demons & Wizards, are based on Stephen King's "The Dark Tower."
Coheed & Cambria's albums are all related to Claudio Sanchez's comic, "The Armory Wars." Claudio also happens to be Coheed & Cambria's vocalist. The albums and the comic share the same storyline and are part of a larger project including the comic, Coheed & Cambria and Claudio's solo project, The Prize Fighter Inferno.

Nine Inch Nails' "The Warning" sounds very similar to the story for "The Day The Earth Stood Still"

This fits really well with this anime called Black Cat. If you know the series, you know what I mean. 8D8

Nine Inch Nails' "Survavlism" seems fitting for any movie with an oppressive government that controls media and personal life, such as V for Vendetta

You could say that about the majority of Year Zero, as its a concept album based on a dystopic American future in which the government became oppressive, pushed patriotic propoganda and censored anything that went against ultra conservative values. The only song that doesn't fit the concept 100% is "The Warning," which is about aliens coming to Earth to punish humans for their selfishness by exterminating them.

I was being more specific, such as saying how Year Zero is a look 15 years into the future of America after the Bush administration.

By the way, BEAST POST COUNT.

"666, The number of the beast! 666, Hell and fire are going to be released!"

Anywho, enough Iron Maiden quoting for now.
