    No it's pretty dumb for this particular situation. Plus something like that messes with people which only causes more complications with that person and the staff.

    Actually, you can't even see the forum, it just looks like the site went down until you spend a couple minutes wondering what's wrong and then finally read the little message telling you that you're banned.

    When I was banned, I had a message pop up saying what my ban reason was. It said "GOOD RIDDINS!" CtR, everybody.
