Where exactly do we stand in the rankings of Kingdom Hearts fan communities? Are we actually pretty well known, or are we practically nobodies (no pun intended) compared to other sites?

Traffic and activity (and site value) has plummeted from what is was like in the past. This could easily have something to do with "new" people having no interest in recent games.

As for how "we" rank up against other sites, who knows. Some better, some worse. Isn't that how most sites are?

I remember Deathspank (the original owner of the site) made a thread regarding this KH site's popularity, and it being number 3 on the internet.

Now, I think the site isn't as good tho. It feels too much like a social place to me so I may (highly) be wrong.

This is the only KH site I regularly hear about besides KHInsider and KH13
and I mean, both of those sites are pretty infamous for being terrible, so

Regardless of how popular we are, we're probably the best.

Yeah, as much as I want more people to at least mention it among KH communities, I think it's better if we sort of stay where we are in terms of activity. I mean, surely we could all use a hare more of motivation to be active and I try to go on here as much as I can with all the sh*t that's been going on in my life, but if it escalated to something super popular, then it's like too many voices are heard, you know? People's opinions get more drowned out and soon it becomes something like a quantity over quality.
But yeah, I just feel content with where we are. Hopefully when Kingdom Hearts III comes around, we'll be able to spike up some participation and members.

But not the one you deserve?
Mkay, the admin of KH13 harassed his mods. KHInisider, couldn't really tell you, I just know everybody hates it
The members may be a bit rough around the edges, but the staff is actually nice and not horribly corrupt

Well I mean, I am assuming about the whole KHv thing, and I fully admit not knowing enough about KHInsider, but I was there to experience how terrible the underbelly of KH13 is

KHI is the oldest and most popular KH site out there. They do have a reputation for being really unfriendly though, not just the members but the staff too. That said they're still the biggest KH site out there and I've had pleasant interactions with one or two of their staff members. KH13 is newer and quite popular but I also have heard really shady things about the owner (and seen it first hand). There's also KHU, they used to be much more popular but their joint podcast with the other KHU keeps them relevant. We're among the older KH site. Obviously I'm biased and think we da best.

Also, to clarify, our traffic and activity is still really solid. We always drop off when there's no KH news but we try to keep things fresh with community events , media, and discussions. Our traffic is consistent if lower than what it is when a new KH game is out but it's also WAY better than what it was a few years ago. spdude owning the site really ****ed us over in several ways. Since then it's been a big effort to reclaim lost ground but the site is in a great position right now, I genuinely believe that this is one of the best staff teams we've ever had, and thankfully all the drama we were plagued by years ago has settled. I don't mind so much the lulls between KH games because that gives us time to really improve the site and spend time with our dedicated members. Once KH news picks up our traffic will as well and we'll have a great site to welcome new users into. Stabilization doesn't have to be stagnation. I think that's one thing that distinguishes us from other KH sites, our staff is very approachable (IMO but again lol biased), we really care about our members and involving them in the site, whereas other KH sites have this very definite line between the staff and the members. We might not have the traffic of KHI but traffic isn't our sole value. We're far more concerned with being Kingdom Hearts community than a Kingdom Hearts site. Every time the staff thinks up an idea we always include or ask "how can we involve members in this?" Because that's IMO what keeps people coming back.

It's stuff like this that made me stay with this site, honestly. It really feels like you guys understand the value of a community, which in my experience shockingly few forum makers actually get. I remember talking with some friends when I first came to this site, and I was all like "Guys, the admins are ACTUALLY active in the community! It's crazy!"
Where lots of leader type people like to say they're friendly and approachable, all the staff on this site actually ARE.
You guys actually stick to your rules and don't ban people for disagreeing, which is nice >.>
But yeah, probably don't say it enough (actually, I don't think I've ever said it in text) but you guys do a great job with the site, and I really appreciate the effort you put in
(also I like that the site doesn't feel like it's from 2006 because you guys actually update it all the time)
