Am I the one who has something to say?
Or am I the one who's meant to fade away?
Am I the one who offers a hand after you fall?
Or am I the one who fell, but no hand was offered at all?
Am I the one who wipes away the tears you shed?
Or was it I who wept; the tears of lonliness and dread...
Am I the song that helps you sleep at night?
Or am I the nightmare that fills you with fright?
Am I the one who will succeed at the end of this tale?
Or am I the one who is destined to fail?
    As I look into your eyes; whether green, brown, or blue;
Answer me this question, "What am I to you?"

    Not my best work, but I was feeling creative that day... -_-;

I haven't seen a poem like this before but you did a great job with the first 4 lines. It has a good mood changing effect to it which I don't see her much. I'll be looking forward to your other poetry

I do not often say this, but I really, really liked this poem.

It wasn't filled with complex I'm-so-intelligent words. It was simple, and so rhetorical it made you question yourself at parts.

Thanks for the compliments you two. Here's another I think you'll enjoy.
(it's a little childish, and quite long)

    The Maiden and the Dragon
Once upon a time, in a land ruled by a king,
There once lived a young maiden, as lovely as spring.
Her hair was like the sun, gleaming in the light.
Her eyes were luminous like the sky, ever so bright.
Her skin was so fair, much like her delicate heart.
She was spirited and bold, and yet as beautiful as art.
Her father was a noble, her mother an aristocrat.
She was an only child, but they were happy about that.
They loved her so dearly, and she loved them as well.
Whether she was a happy or sad, no one could ever tell.
One day while walking, enjoying the scene,
She looked up into the sky and saw something green.
She watched it carefully, until it came into sight.
Her heart then jumped, and was filled with fright.
She began to panic and was ready to run,
For up in the sky was a giant dragon.
His scales were that of a deep, emerald green.
His eyes were very bright, and looked very keen.
He was gliding up in the sky, enjoying the air,
Until his eye had caught a maiden so fair.
She appeared gentle and delicate, much like a dove.
Then that was the moment he had fallen in love.
She looked up for a moment and wanted to scream,
But for some reason she didn’t, this must be a dream.
The dragon had landed, right in front of her.
He then made a soft sound, like that of a cat’s purr.
She was afraid for a moment, and didn’t know what to do.
He stared into her eyes, ever so blue.
She looked into his eyes, ready for a fright.
But his eyes were like that of a sunny delight.
She then reached out to touch his face.
He watched her hand, and admired its grace.
She started to relax, her heart was calm.
He then licked her smooth palm.
A bond then formed, between these two.
They spent most of the time talking, being honest and true.
He would let her climb onto his back, being very careful.
Then they went flying into the sky, their hearts so joyful.
When the day was over, she was ready to go.
His heart then fell, and wanted to say no.
She gave him a hug; then he gave a sad sigh.
Then that was the moment she began to cry.
She cared for the dragon, with all of her heart.
But they both knew that they had to depart.
She said good-bye; he said farewell.
But they will soon discover that all will end well.
The dragon started to fly back to his clan,
And that was the moment he had a plan.
He went to see a warlock, to see if he knew,
A way for him and his love to make it through.
He thought really hard, for an hour or two.
And then out of nowhere, a plan suddenly grew.
The dragon listened carefully to the warlock’s plan.
They only way to be with her was to become a man.
The dragon was thrilled about this thought.
He never liked being a dragon, all he did was fought.
The warlock chanted a spell, and the dragon disappeared.
Where he had once stood, a man had appeared.
He was tall and fair, handsome as well.
Whether he was once a dragon, no one could tell.
His hair was wavy, dark and bold.
His eyes were bright, almost like gold.
He thanked the warlock for his wondrous deed.
He then went off to his love, at a quick and swift speed.
The next day came, and the sun was bright.
The maiden looked out, what a lovely sight.
She went for a walk, and started to look around.
In the sky above, he couldn’t be found.
She was about to quit, and was ever so sad.
Then that’s when she saw a handsome looking lad.
He walked up to her, looking her in the eye.
There she saw the fact that she couldn’t deny.
Her larger charming dragon was no longer here.
He’s now this charming young man, ever so dear.
They now hold their hands, as husband and wife.
Remembering how they met, what a marvelous strife.
Their children run through the fields, with happiness and laughter.
This now concludes the story, as they lived happily ever after.
