Remember how in KH1 there was a small segment where Sora was seeing a memory of Kairi's? And it was in Hollow Bastion? And her grandmother was there?

I was thinking, I know somebody said this in a thread in the BBS section, that maybe the reason Kairi is a princess of heart means that she was the princess of Radiant Gardens. I mean this because we can clearly see she lives in the "castle" that you explore in KH1.

I don't know, maybe she is a real princess of that world.

I never thought of that, haha.

Perhaps that was around the time that the Heartless took over the world, and they went there for safety? Or maybe some parts of the castle were open to the public, like the library?

    Perhaps.

Something else just popped into my head.

What if Master Xehanort is her grandfather?

I mean, her grandmother HAD to know about all those things from somewhere right? What if, to strengthen the theory that maybe she is a princess, her parents were gone but she was left behind to live with her grandparents? Maybe then that's how the reports mentioned princess's of heart?

    Okay to clear it up:

Kairi lived with her family in the castle. Except, she lost her parents when she was very young and she was sent to live with her grandparents. Her grandfather was MX and her grandmother was kind. Because of what MX knew, her grandmother knew as well. Which is why she spoke the way she did in that little flashback.

I could be spewing crap. Who knows.

Well, the Xehanort Reports in BBS hinted that MX was from Destiny Islands so it doesn't seem likely.

But Ansem the Wise said he was the ruler of Radiant Gardens, didn't he?

Well, I always thought that her being princess of Radient Garden was the case. But M.X. being her grandfather? I never thought about that. It doesn't really sound probably, her grandma might have just known that stuff. But I could be wrong.

I kinda thought it was either that or Destiny Island. Apparently whoever the woman was knew Kairi was special, because she was teaching her about light and dark, like we teach kindergardners about numbers and letters. The thought that occured to me was when she was disappearing, maybe that's when she appeared on Destiny Islands. She was around the same age, I think.

It was her grandmother, just fyi. When Sora and Kairi are in that green cavern place in Traverse Town, and Sora gets the Navi Gummi, Kairi remarks how it's a "light at the end of the tunnel," and Sora says something like "right, like your grandmother's story." (how Kairi didn't find it creepy that he knew that I'll never know)

I agree with you about the Kairi disappearing thing, that's what I thought too.

.......oops. I forgot about those 8D

I was wondering if Kairi and Sora were almost preordained. It's the whole fight about fate and destiny, but if Sora was destined to be the Keyblader, and Kairi was destined to be a Princess, then were they destined to be together? Or is that just the whole paopu fruit thing?

BBS probably rejects this, but wasn't Sora the keyblade wielder by accident? Riku gave into the darkness, while Sora fought it with his heart, becoming stronger and a target for the keyblade? So not fate in that part.

Also, they never shared a paopu AFAIK, so unless the wall drawings count, paopu references don't work.

Well, it's pretty obvious that Sora is special, with the keyblade or without. In the end, the keyblade stuck by him didn't it? Riku also has his own keyblade, but does it suddenly shift the focus from Sora to Riku? Didn't think so. Storywise, he may be special because of all the friends he made in the different worlds, so that's how all the worlds are connected, they share a common friend. That's how he's the key.

The question was whether he was fated to be with Kairi due to the whole knight x Princess thing. I disagreed on the basis that he was not the one intended to be the knight. In terms of the story, Sora is the protagonist and has a large impact on the worlds.

It has crossed my mind a few times. I believe Kairi is the princess of Radiant Garden.
