The E.S.'s left arm was frozen. In KH 2, Riku wears a bandage or something on his left arm. Could there be a connection?

Probably not. Riku wears it there more for the look then the actual need.

That's what I wasn't too sure about though, ukali_rules. They really didn't have to add that bandage on Riku. Why would they put in a detail so minor to the whole character design? Seems rather a waste of time for the 3D deppartment, don't you think?

True, true, but his arm would have been rather plain without it...the other one has his weapon, so it wouldn't have the same problem.

Although...there MIGHT be some sort of connection. Who knows?

That seems a bit far-fetched, wouldn't you say (it's not even the same arm) ? If you had an actual theory about the reason for this connection, I would consider it.

well you know nomura, he could have done it since Larry seems to be more like Riku then everyone else

I agree with you, it is far fetched, Kanji , but many things like that came up in KH 2 that we never would have expected from our speculation of KH 1. I do have a theory as to why Riku has a bandage on his left arm and how it connects to the E.S., but I am saving that to write in the form of a fan fic, since I am better at writing than I am at explaining. Plus, that is not this thread's purpose. I am curious to hear what you all think of this! :)

Well for that matter, why did they put yellow stripes on Sora's KH2 outfit?

Like said before, it's more on the fashion and style side, not the meaning itself. :/

True. Game developers often add things to a character's outfit to give them a fashion sense, but occasionally they put these add-ons for a purpose, whether it be for symbolism or a plot purpose. For example, take the FF7 character Aerith. Why was her dress pink? Was it because Nomura thought pink looked good on her? Or was it because the color pink is commonly recognized as a symbol of innocence? This is exactly why I put this thread in speculation. There is no right or wrong answer, so it makes a good discussion, at least I hope. :)

Another thing I'd like to add is that Riku wasn't wearing the bandage in KH 1 of KHCoM. It showed up after his time as Ansem. But then again, his whole outfit changed.

Well, I suppose the bandage thingy could have a significence. Did anyone else notice that when Riku was in your party in TWTNW, he ran kinda funky, like, without moving his bandaged arm? He just kind of held it to his side.

However, if this does have a connection, it is probably not with that. Why would Riku have a bandaged arm for some reason related to a frozen arm?

O.o Well, having your arm frozen solid would sound serious to me! Don't you think it hurt!?! :O

Actually no, because you wouldn't be able to feel it.

And If it was, the bandage wouldn't just be on that little part of his arm.

And we have no actual proof at all that Larry is related to Riku in anyway.

If you are going to talk like that, you might as well say Roxas should be in a full body cast becuase a character that looks like him was frozen in the secret ending.

XD So true about the Roxas look-alike! But having your arm frozen does hurt. Anything that cold would burn you, but then again, this is a video game we're talking about so I really don't think we should go with the scientific approach. That would be silly. :p

    Which would you rather have:

    Lame Riku.

    Fantabulous Riku.

    It speaks for itself.

If you notice, riku always keep his left arm up against his side, and ALWAYS uses his right hand. My guess is that it was damaged during his fight with Roxas. I think when roxas came with the oathkeeper and Riku swung him away, he bent his arm in a way the human arm can't bend and broke. They didn't show him fighting after that scene, and it was probably cured during the time he was in his ansem state. Thats my theory, and didn't Nomura say the nights didn't have a connection to kh1 and kh2? Wasn't it a new project or something.

It's just a character design. It's like OMG!! Clouds sword is bandaged! It'll be related to kh3 for sure!

Well Nomura said he already had the idea of the Knights in his head when he was making KH 2. However, thank you for bringing up the new Roxas vs. Riku scene. I totally forgot about that, and that is a good point. By the way, I am not taking a stand on this topic. I just wanted to discuss it! :)

Cloud's sword was bandaged in both KH 1 and KH 2. In FF 7, it was not. I think Zack's was the sword that was bandaged, am I right? (can't remember)
Besides, Cloud is not on original KH character. He is a character from FF 7. There is only a handfull of characters that belong in KH. Please keep that in mind.
