oh and this is sorta a SPOILER about the end of the game

after sora and riku beat xemnas, they were at the dark place that we saw 2 of the organization people at. that 1 place where its kinda like a beach or something. riku said this place was perfect for him cause it was darkness there. sora also agreed with him. basically sora decided to stay in darkness. so does that mean that sora pretty much gave into the darkness? not literally like gave himself up like riku did but he wanted to stay in darkness.

does anyone remember that? if not, beat xemnas and listen carefully after you see them at the dark place. i think that after turning into a heartless in KH1 it made a dark sora start growing. well, he can turn antiform of course and he has roxas which is the darkside of sora. so im guessing sora does accept darkness a bit. IMO, i think sora would be kool in darkness. i mean, look at roxas. hes the darker sora and hes awsome lol.

Sora was only with Riku because he didn't want to get separated from him again. Riku accepted the darkness, but Sora didn't want to leave him behind. They were going to stick together.

Sora didn't accept the darkness, but he figured that as long as the realm of light was safe, it didn't matter where they ended up. He spent the better half of the game looking for Riku and he didn't want to lose him again.

Of course, he really wanted to go home and see Kairi again, hence her bottle finally making its way to the dark shores where they sat. Her light corresponded with their hearts, opening the door to light.

yea thats true. but still dont you think that i may have been on something? besides, sora is the key to the door to the light. he cant stay in darkness. its his main enemy, isnt it? sure he wanted to stay in darkness because he didnt want to lose riku again and also the light is there and all but sora stayed in darkness. he pretty much decided to stay there. he accepted the dark place. he didnt take in the darkness but he decided to stay there.

atleast agree with something i said lol. i dont know how to explain it but i know im on to something lol

Sora and Riku only stayed there because they didn't know where else to go. Riku couldn't open a portal of darkness and Sora no longer had the Gummi Ship. They were pretty much stuck there not because they wanted to be. They were there because they couldn't leave.

As Mickey explains in CoM to Riku, he thought that darkness was all bad at first, but realized that some good can come out of it (Riku). Sora would've figured that out as well after all of his experiences in KH2. He was even willing to forgive Xehanort's Heartless (who was really Riku). And all of that was backed up when Mickey explains to Xemnas that the world is made of light and darkness and that you couldn't have one without the other 'cause darkness was half of everything. Finally, like everyone else here said, Sora knew that the realm of light was safe and stayed with Riku because he didn't want them to become separated again.

but they did want to stay there. since the realm of light was safe, and riku decided to stay there cause he was in total darkness before and sora couldnt leave. riku belonged to darkness. he even said it. sora couldnt leave ill agree with that but he didnt even do anything. he just sat next to riku and stayed there. he didnt even go against the darkness. he wanted to stay there pretty much.

Sora and Riku didn't bother looking for a way out because after all they'd been through, they probably welcomed the rest. It was quiet with no outside distractions. Heck, they pretty much did the exact same thing when they got home. They just sat there looking out over the sea feeling the breeze without having to worry about saving the worlds, rescuing princesses or having to struggle against evil.

I mean, EVENTUALLY they would've gotten up. But they were tired from all the fighting, so they decided to take a most deserved rest. It had nothing to do with accepting the darkness, they were just exhausted.

Your ideas are carelessly misled. Riku's word on 'belonging to darkness' are just as true as Mickey's when he told Riku "You don't belong in the darkness anymore" (or whatever the line specifically was) when Riku attempted to open a portal but failed. Essentially the middle ground here is that Riku is a hybrid. He's one of the few individuals who can retain his mind when in darkness; he walks the Middle Path as was said in Riku Rebirth in CoM. Riku belongs to light just as much as he would to darkness.

And they didn't want to stay there, it was a rationalization they made. They didn't go "Hey, this place is cool, I never wanna go back home!" In their eyes, being able to return wasn't possible. So in order to 'rationalize' that depressing thought, they reminded themselves that if what they did managed to save the realm of light, they wouldn't mind staying since it would've been worth the sacrifice. This acceptance of the world of darkness is being paired with their success in saving the realm of light. A sacrifice is being made and accepted for a better cause.

There are so many better scenes that depict and express Nomura's theme of darkness throughout the series, it'd be silly of Nomura to signify that scene in the way you depict it. It's unsubstantiated and premature.

Sora and Riku went as far as they could to the beach and were stuck where they were. Riku said that if they were to stay they could guard Darkness from others abusing it. Sora agreed to that. Basically, they were both trying to make the best of a situation of being stuck in Darkness because neither could just leave. They had to get the bottle which Riku passed to Sora and it made the Light doorway for them to pass through back to home. Before that, they had no options.

    The lines are this:
So, you see, at first Riku is disappointed that there might be nothing else for them, but then he comes to realize that they can protect the Darkness from being abused by others and that the others on the Light side would be safe. Sora agrees to that because as the situation was, they were going nowhere.
