no thats' a bad idea actually. we should leave them so ppl can see if the suggestion has been made already so that we don't have 100s of repeat topics of suggestions. if we took the locked topics away, there'd be no excuse of why ppl should know if the suggestion has been brought up before.

The posts count here and most of the suggestions aren't spammy, so for now I don't agree.

I agree that the posts that are locked should not be removed for the exact reason stated. People express opinions and do give earnest answers etc. It would drop some people's posts which could affect some more than others. Also, if someone sees a locked post, they can read it through if it was pertaining to something they wanted to bring up so that if they want to open up a new topic on it, they know what already has gone on and some of the convo behind the topic, instead of just reading that the topic was denied prior. It can help them support a reason why the topic should even be brought up again.

Removing locled posts is a bad idea, as said above... it will remove posts tat people earn and repeats will happen over and over again and what's the point in that

Agreed. Removing locked threads will cause all the noobs to start new ones that have already been suggested months back. It'll diminish the post count drastically and it negates the potency of the Search function. It can't find things that aren't there.

If the sticky was updated, we wouldn't have a reason to keep all those locked threads. But then again, members of this forum don't read stickies.

Also, members shouldn't be relying on Suggestions to bolster their post count. There are plenty of other sections to post in.

They don't "rely" on suggestions as you put it, however suggestions is one of the few post counting sections that is taken somewhat seriously,I don't think it is fair to decrease people's posts for expressing their opinions n_n

Besides, even if the sticky is updated, not everyone looks at that, not only that but suggestions threads are sometimes reviewed, if no one can see the threads how can they be re-looked into?

I say no to deleting the locked threads, they aren't causing any harm.

^ xD the non-purple Kitty is so very silly now.

I agree that they should not be deleted. The posts here matter and should never die.

    I'm on vacation.

How is it silly? Wouldn't prunin' it delete those threads but keep the post count for members?

If not, couldn't we at least move them all the threads somewhere but keep a list up? By the way, it needs updated. CHOP CHOP STAFF!

There must be a way to get rid of them without losin' the posts.

B| I KNOW WHAT TO DO.

To keep it filtered out and organized. I say you make a subforum for rejected threads. That way, people can search the subforum, too.

    :]

Or is that too much trouble...

Yes it is... they will most likely be completly ignored, and all that work wasted.

I think its just easier to keep updating the "Regected Ideas" thread.

Yeah but you are missing the point that even if you don't care about members losing posts there's still the fact that just having a sticky with 'former topics and the decision' is basically not enough. I know whenever I have posted a suggestion I always check around first through other posts to ensure it hasn't come up and also when topics have been asked again though denied, people DO go back and read the former threads to see what the consensus was. It is important to let people read through these logs so that if they do bring up a topic already denied they have some good reason to do it. There's no point bringing up a suggestion if in the former topic all was said that could be said. Sometimes though people lock threads before some people can post and the topic didn't look important at the time but the new person posting might have a different angle to present the case for the suggestion.

This to me seems rather important and should not be lost. I do not think we need another section for it though. The locked threads underneath the stickied thread seems good enough and it's also in one area. Once a thread is locked it's going to move down the list so all new threads will also always be at the top. It works. I say don't fix something that isn't broke.

What Repliku said :/ there is no need to hide the threads or remove the threads, once locked they fall down the lists anyway. I also look through the threads as opposed to just relying on the sticky. Repliku also expands on my point that if topics are going to be revised they have to be easily viewable by everyone without any mess. Creating a seperate sub section will just create more untidyness IMO, it isn't about it being bother or too much work, it quite simply is not needed.

Leave the suggestions section as it is.
