    Well, the FFX and FFVII universes are apparently the same one. Since there's a character in X-2 that's named Shinra that's a very distant ancestor of President Shinra and Rufus Shinra.

    Probably more of a shoutout or easter egg than anything else.

    Obviously you haven't seen the FFVII Ultimatum and some such.

    It's not official or not though if they are actually from the same universe, they're probably just pulling our chains and trying to mess with us. Otherwise maybe they left the first planet because Sin kept coming back.....even though the whole point of FFX was to make that not happen!! Seriously, it was going so well until FFX -Will-
