    Smash Bros Melee Gameplay Vids.

    I hadn't played Smash Bros Melee in a really long time, and this coming Saturday is somewhat of a smashfest for me so I played a little with my friends earlier this week. I got home and got the urge to warm up again to the game's mechanics.

    - Removed these vids, for their utter lameness and the fact that the Saturday Smashfest took place already-

    Look further ahead to find the vids.

    That would be cool if you could record some of your matches this coming Saturday.
    I wouldn't say you were that bad. Sure you made a few wee mistakes but who doesn't. & as you said it was a warm up.

    I now find myself wanting to play Super Smash Bros.

    Well, did quite a bit of recordings this past Saturday during that party I had. 22+ vids in total.

    I won't post all of them here simply because that's just too many to put on one post, but I'll embed some of ones that had me in it--relevance for me posting again:

    Marth (Me) vs Peach (My friend Daryl)

    Captain Falcon (Me) vs Ness (My friend Greg) == Round 1 ==

    Marth (Me) vs Falco (Greg) == Round 2 ==

    I will be posting more on here as time goes on, but if you want to search the archive yourself, it's on my youtube profile here

    Wow, you're really good with Captain falcon. I suck with him. xD Sweet Marth skills! Marth rules!

    Hehe, yeah. My best is actually Fox, but I like using Falcon and Marth.

    Fox > Marth > Falcon for me.

    Some Fox dittos I had that night with my friend Kevin:

    == Round 1 == White Fox (Me) vs Blue Fox (Kevin)

    == Round 2 ==

    == Round 3 ==

    Those were some cool battles thanks for posting them. You're really good with Fox, Marth & Falco.

    I can understand why you would like to use Marth, fast & has some strong attacks. well it's the same with all of them really.

    Hehe, thanks. I still think all of them need work.

    My Fox's wavedashes and drillshines were kinda faulty that night. Missed some L-cancels and Fox made a lot of noise, XD

    Need to L-cancel with Marth more. I don't L-cancel any of his aerials. o.o On occasion I'll L-cancel the NAir, but in general I'm just nor SHFFL'ing like I should be. D:

    My Captain Falcon game is still too centered on the FAir. Rewatching that vid, there were so many opportunities to use UAir to edgeguard my friend's Ness but I kept trying for the knee. And I still don't use one of the fundamental Falcon combos >> SHFFL'ed UAirs x2-3 to FAir finish.

    Thanks for the comments all the same! ^^
    Here are some more from that night.

    Luigi Ditto (I'm the Green Luigi, my friend Daryl's the White one)

    Falco Ditto (I'm Red Pants Falco, Daryl's the Blue Pants)

    Oh! Here's a funny one. I killed myself twice in this match, it was hilarious.
    Captain Falcon (Me) vs Samus (Daryl)

    Hence the music choice, to highlight the hilarity.

    Marth (Me) vs Mewtwo (Daryl)

    That's all the matches with me in it. My friend Kevin has a pretty good Link. I can post those later if anyone's interested in seeing.

    I really liked the fight with Captain Falcon vs Samus, i thought the choice of music was great. ^^

    After watching some of the things you did makes me wanna practice. Like how you attacked your opponent as he was off the stage, that is something i've never tried. Probably because i would most likely kill myself.

    After watching these it makes feel like a (dare i say it) n00b. (hate that word)

    I would be pretty interested in seeing Link fight if it wasn't too much trouble.

    Not a problem at all, here they are. =D

    EDIT: And don't worry about the 'n00b' thing. Although I like to say I've been playing Melee since it first came out, I didn't start learning/doing advanced techniques until a little under a year ago. So I'm a bit behind from where I would've otherwise been. XD

    Link Ditto - Nixon (Pink Link) vs Kevin (Blue Link)

    Link (Kevin) vs Peach (Daryl)

    I was pretty confident my friend Kevin would win this, but he messed up so many times on the recovery.

    Oh thanks a lot for these. :D

    I liked it how you played J-E-N-O-V-A in the second fight, another fine choice.

    I'm quite determined now to improve on my game. But it's quite hard to practice moves when both of your brothers always want to do Tournament mode. :rolleyes:

    Thank you Soushi for enlightening me & again for the video's.

    ^^ Glad I could inspire. And I know it's hard to improve when you're not in an environment to do so, but practicing is still always the first step, despite who you're with. =D

    I know that when I first started learning the advanced stuff, I was in a transition of changing my play style, so consequently I would experiment in battles with my friends and lose because it was still in 'test phase'. So for a while I would lose all my matches until I got the new stuff down--then I started winning again. XDD After that, my friends wanted to learn the advanced stuff too; they're all steadily getting better.

    Out of everyone there that night, Kevin and I are the ones who are the most polished with advanced techniques, so everyone usually wanted to watch our Fox dittos. (XD everyone stopped their matches when we both sat down to set up our match and came to watch).

    Marth (Me) vs Link (Kevin)

    Just another match with Kevin's Link in it. I messed up big on one of my edgeguards and completely got myself killed underneath the map. XDD And Kevin doesn't fall for my counters as easily as Daryl does... so many failed counters in this match.

    I can't believe how fast your friend is with Link. It was always one of the problems i had with Link when i fought my brother (Marth). He was just to damn quick for me. But i think i just picked up some useful tips for both Link & maybe Roy (Their my boys). ^^

    Yeah, L-cancelling is essential for a fast Link. I'm always impressed watching Kevin's Link, cause he almost never misses an L-cancel. I'm pitiful with Link; I can L-cancel his FAir and NAir fine, but my timing is horrible with the DAir and I don't even use Link's BAir <.<;

    I have some really crappy team matches with 3 of my friends that night as well (cause it was an all-nighter of sorts). As it was 3am and beyond, our skills kinda turned ******ed, but they're funny to watch. I played Roy for all of them and I spammed counter like an idiot until it worked. XDDD

    I'll work on uploading those today and post them here, but I can't guarantee you might find something about my Roy you'll like. I play differently in team battles than in duels because to me, they require completely different thinking patterns.

    I use to be really good with Link but not playing it for over a year can leave you a bit rusty, so i'm kinda sluggish.

    Haha playing games at 3am, i would most likely get confused who i was & would do something stupid. Did your spamming work much?
    But it sounded like fun.

    I haven't played a team battle in ages, we lost one of our players & my sister refuses to play because she thinks it's stupid. She has very little taste in games. :p
    So we're down to 3 players. But i would usually play slightly different in team battles too.

    And here we are. I would've had these up sooner but halfway through I realized that I had encoded some in the wrong order (encoded round 1 of match 1 and then round 2 of match 2), so they had the wrong titles so I had to go around marking which ones I had left to do. I also had some problems with how the audio turned out after it was uploaded to YouTube. So I had to readjust the audio and reencode some of the matches to compensate. Anyway, here we are: Late Night Smash Bros, Fire Emblem vs Space Animals edition.

    == Match One== Best out of Three
    Roy/Marth vs Falco/Fox
    (Me/Matthew vs Nixon/Horace)
    (ASS?/Q. vs NXN/CHAN)

    == Round 1 ==

    Score: Red Team [ 1 ] Green Team [ 0 ]

    == Round 2 ==

    Score Red Team [ 2 ] Green Team [ 0 ]

    == Redemption Round ==

    == Match Two == Best out of Three
    Roy/Fox vs Marth/Falco
    (Me/Horace vs Matthew/Nixon)
    (ASS?/CHAN vs Q./NXN)

    == Round One ==

    Score: Green Team [ 1 ] Red Team [ 0 ]

    == Round Two ==

    Score: Green Team [ 1 ] Red Team [ 1 ]

    == Round Three ==
    Horace and I changed up and decided to make it a team ditto
    He picked Marth, and I picked Falco

    Score: Green Team [ 1 ] Red Team [ 2 ]

    == Redemption Round ==
    It just occured to us right after that we were better off switching, as Falco was Horace's main and Marth is my second best. XD So we did that. Here's how that turned out.

    Yeah man, I watched those vids again. At one point you just spammed counter as you descended to your death.

    And the very first match/round, you carelessly died and took one of my lives--and then got me killed. THANKFULLY you won the match for us, or else I wouldn't have forgiven you... ever.

    Sure you would've. Those matches ended up being real farces in the end. I spent half the time working on my short hop neutral!
