Kingdom Hearts II Solve this if you can.

In COM / Re: COM Vexen, Marluxia, Larxene, and Axel are defeated. Yet in kh 2, or kh2 FM Larxene, Marluxia, and Vexen return as Data, but Axel returns REAL!!! HOW COME?!!!

I thought it was simply because Axel WASN'T defeated in the first place, but he WAS because Marluxia says: "So, you have destroyed Axel....." - Marluxia, COM / Re:COM.

Solve it if you can. I need to know.

 

Axel is another form of the data lol I think... or maybe not...

 

axel isn't defeated in re com/com, he just disappear and in KH 2 he die really when he use his special attack

 

You're forgetting Riku's side of the story. Axel took Repliku to get rid of Zexion. And earlier, Axel even told Zexion that Sora thought he was destroyed but he wasn't. Axel survived for KH2.

As for the whole kamikaze blazing fires of suicide that Axel did, Nomura said that Axel actually returns to his true form due to the whole "Destroy Axel's Heartless first, destroy Axel's Nobody next, they both return to their original Somebody state."

Axel feigned his 'death' when he fought Sora in CoM. He also faked his death by Roxas, if you recall in the beginning of KH2. The kamikaze move is what finished him off. After defeating Roxas, you see a side scene with Roxas and Axel, which according to the KH2 novel, is when after he returns to his other self and becomes whole, because his heart was freed from being a Heartless probably by Sora somewhere down the line in his travels.

Axel returns as data as well later. You can tell he's really gone by when you see the tombstones, along with the other members. So when you get to fight the Organization former members, he is also data there.

 

Yep, like the last two posts said, Axel never died in CoM, he faked it and let Sora take care of the upper floors while he finished off his buisness with the Riku Replica and Zexion before leaving the castle.

The data battles are non-canon - they were just extras added in KH2:FM for fun.

And Destiny's Force, I keep hearing that Axel's other comes back. Can you give me a link to that interview?

I don't have the actual interview... as *TwilightNight* was the one who originally showed me it... oh so long ago...

But I found an exerpt from it she posted a while back.

VIII. "When the heartless are defeated, what becomes of the stolen hearts? Also, when members of Organization XIII and other Nobodies are defeated, do they return to their original form?

When heartless are defeated, essentially the owner's hearts are rejoined with their once extenguished body, whichever world it may be on. As for the whereabouts of hearts in KHII that turn up, this time they remarkably went to the Organization (there is a foot note here that says "In Kingdom Hearts II after heartless were defeated, the many hearts were absorbed by the Kingdom Hearts of "people's hearts"). However, in the rare case that the body changed into a Nobody and when there is no container for the heart, it resorts to a state of suspension.

In the case of a Nobody being defeated, it's a little more complicated. If the above mentioned hearts are liberated, they return to their original form. However, if the heart is still stolen by the heartless, the Nobody's body is swallowed by darkness. If somewhere in the world their hearts are taken back, perhaps they might be able to return to their original human form.


Its kinda open ended... but its from Nomura himself... so it must be canon.

 

There is that interview and also in the KH2 novel, Namine explains that Axel went back to his somebody when asked about his death. So I would guess that is pretty much what happened.

Right before the first Marluxia battle in CoM.

Ugh.... I really wouldn't know the answer to that. To confuse you, I guess, because it's sure confusing me!
Oh! I know! Maybe Axel lived and Mr. Flower Petal Man thought he died!

 

Yes, Marluxia had Namine and set up Sora and Axel to fight. He left and so Axel and Sora fought, Axel then fakes his death, dark portaling away. After, Sora gets to Marluxia and he makes the comment about Axel being gone. Riku Replica comes back and they fight Marluxia.

Meanwhile, Axel later shows up when Riku Replica is wandering and Marluxia is gone. He sets up Repliku to kill Zexion after Riku defeated him. This results in Repliku's demise because Riku fights him after. Axel leaves there being the only surviving member of the Organization.

In KH2, he goes back to the remaining members of the Org, is ordered to get Roxas back or terminate him. He fails to get him to come back and his memories are gone and rewritten. So after a hefty threat of being made into a dusk, he returns and has to kill Roxas...however, he makes it 'look good' and fails, then disappears faking death again.

Later he returns and actually does die when he does the kamikaze maneuver with Sora in the betwixt and between area. When Sora defeats Roxas, there's the cutscene with Axel and it hints that Axel went on back to his Somebody as there is a tear he drops. In the novel, Namine states this is what happens.

the data factor has nothing to do with the kingdom hearts storyline. all of the nobodies besides xemnas have faded into darkness, thus returning to their normal selves.

The data matches are like the cups in hercules. the hades cup is a b!tch, but it in no way affects the plot line of kh..

 

maybe the one in com was data and the real one died in kh2
